I started going to Devorah for haircuts when I bought a Formosi promotion. She has great energy and a good heart, and she really knows her craft. I showed her a photo of my inspiration, and she gave me the volume I wanted at the crown. My hair also hangs in pretty waves. My only complaint is she takes a little more off than I would like, since I told her I was trying to grow it long. But she gave me highlights last visit and nailed it. It was exactly the color I wanted, my childhood color actually. It's growing out beautifully. My husband constantly says how much he loves it. I was really surprised by his reaction, since I thought he loved me just the way I am! Also, a few of my coworkers have copied my look. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. First, I want to say that Devorah Jeane has a beautiful soul! She is very nice and caring throughout the entire process from start to finish. I met her through a Formosi promo and at first, I was skeptical, but after I contacted Devorah via text message, she quickly responded back and I scheduled my appointment with her. My experience: -Early appointment at 8am for color. -Cut on dry hair. -An amazing wash: shampoo and conditioner with minty scalp treatment and massage. She also applied a hair mask. All product smelled really good! -Added the Enjoy Shine and Smooth serum. -Blow dry. -Curly and style. Throughout the entire experience, Devorah made me feel comfortable and chatted with me like a friend. I absolutely loved my hair and I felt like a Sexy Mommy. I really needed a Mommy make over and she most definitely made me look Gorgeous!!! Just so you Yelpers know, I am very picky with whom I let touch my hair which is why it takes me a while to get to a salon, but after meeting Devorah and seeing her finished artistic ability, I will return!!! With nun-like restraint, this hair guru dutifully trimmed ONE INCH off my derriere-length, ash-blonde "ingenue" locks for four years. FOUR YEARS, folks - toward the tail end of which she began to inquire when I would allow her to give me the "rock 'n' roll haircut." One day, my readiness arrived like your pot-smoking aunt, and thus began a joyful adventure of rad cuts I never thought I could carry off. Devorah, on the other hand, had always seen the inner rock star in this Minnesota gal, and was able to simultaneously challenge my self-image while beefing it up. I've had virtually every shade of blonde -- one time, blonde in front with gorgeous, intricate, and somehow subtle diamonds of burgundy, chocolate and black in back; bangs, layers, and my current shade, which gets me compliments everywhere I go and occasional comparisons to Daenerys Targaryen. I have minimal tolerance for maintenance and can't be bothered to fuss much with it on a daily basis. I eschew the use of heat tools unless attending some fancy event and might look ten times better if I bothered at all, but why should I? Thanks to Devorah's expert skill, I walk around feeling like a rock star anyway. PS - As with any hair artist, it's optimal to think about what you want in advance, consider how much you're willing to have cut off, find a picture, bring it in. I did not visit a salon or any hair dresser for years. I like having long hair and it's really valuable to me. Now imagine how nervous I was coming in today. However, Devorah made the experience pleasant and enjoyable throughout the whole process. In every step, she explained what she was about to do in the treatment and what not. Overall, she was professional, complimentary, and kind. My services were the haircut and brilliant shine treatment. As requested, she kept the length long and added layers to the front (to frame my face) and a bit in the back. It was gorgeous! The style is subtle and minimal but it's classy and extremely perfect for me! I'm not a person about huge statements so this hairstyle worked wonders for me. We connected immediately and I felt as though we had known each other for years. I think this is important because hair is very personal and you need to feel comfortable enough to discuss what you want to have accomplished but also trust that your stylist knows what she is talking about. It should always be a two way street. I trust her and will be back. On a side note- I think it is extremely inappropriate and careless to make judgements about someone's personality by accusing them of drinking on the job.
