She styled my hair in a way that I love and recommend some great products that won't make my thick, wavy hair look too full - I can't wait to try them! In addition to that, we had a fun chat while she was cutting my hair - she's very friendly :) The salon is very clean and comfortable. The few times that I have visited, it wasn't crowded or loud. This review is for Cara Miller. Worst haircut of my life. I wanted a long bob, something soft and pretty with some texture. I left with a 90s Drew Barrymore "Boys on the Side" haircut. I've never left a salon hating my hair more than when I walked in before yesterday. Cara's technique was odd, and her styling was terrible! When it was apparent I did not like my hair, she started to spray it with water and twirled it with a flat brush instead of using a round brush. It was odd. I left with damp, choppy, greasy-looking hair. Every time I look in the mirror, I want to cry. Avoid Cara Miller! I reached out to the salon and have yet to hear back, considering I am not the only extremely negative reviewer of Ms.Miller. This review is specifically for Cara Miller. It is not reflective of the salon itself. In fact, the manager was very nice and helped me get a refund when Cara had refused, so it is very likely you could have a positive experience with another stylist. I went to Cara for some color correction and natural looking highlights. She did a decent job, but it was very low contrast, making my hair look light brown all over, rather than brunette with blonde highlights. She had said multiple times to come back if I wasn't 100% happy, so I went in a second time. Big mistake. She was clearly annoyed that I was back and didn't listen to me at all. I should have left then. What I got was a rush job, with permanent color, big chunky streaks, roots that are yellow with hair that is black in parts, and a splotchy area up front around my face. I specifically asked for babylights. ("You don't want babylights." she said) I specifically asked for a toner. ("You never asked for demi-permanent!" I did. I asked specifically for a toner, which is demi-permanent.) I asked for a natural, low maintenance look and got huge chunks of color. I asked for ashy blonde and got a warm blonde that turned yellow after a week and a brunette that looks red in the sun. In sections, she dyed my hair black with permanent color starting about an inch from my scalp, so now my hair is light brown/ yellow for an inch and black the rest of the way down. I've never seen anything like it. When I texted her about these issues, her response was that my hair looks gorgeous and that I could go somewhere else if I didn't like it. Then she refused to give me a full refund, even though I had given her a generous 40% tip. And then she blocked me from her phone. I think that a stylist should, first and foremost, do what the client wants, (not what the stylist thinks the client wants. And not what they stylist wants. And not what the stylist thinks will just be the fastest because they are in a rush.) Not only was this color not anything that I had asked for, but it also was just so clearly a rush job and really poorly done. When I called the salon, the manager was really helpful, and talked to Cara on my behalf. If I could leave a separate review for the salon itself I would, as it would be 5 stars. The stylists themselves are independant contractors, so she didn't have to help me out, but I was so grateful that she did! Thanks to the manager, Cara did give me a refund--but not before she called me to yell at me. I asked her why she was calling me if she didn't want to listen to anything I had to say and she said "you're just going to say the same thing you already said!" She was just ranting. Then she called me crazy and then she hung up on me. Apparently she was shouting at me on her cell in the middle of the salon while she was with another client. Nothing that I did or said to her warranted this response. As I said, I gave her a generous tip, I was unerringly polite to her, and I complemented her on the parts of her work I had liked. It's as if she was just unloading 15 years of her anger at clients being unhappy with her work onto me. Truly a disappointing experience, to say the least. read more

Came here on a Saturday to get a haircut and blowout. First, the shampoo from Anabel was amazing! She made sure the water temp was right for me, and that I was comfortable. I felt very relaxed after my shampoo. I got my haircut from Kelly, who is full of positive energy and skill at what she does. I decided to go short (as in go for a short haircut-- different from my usual long hair style) and am happy with the results! She curled my hair nicely, and when shown the back of my hair (with the texture) with a mirror, I was impressed! Went in to have my dark roots and gray covered up, left with my whole head of hair a weird shade of orange-y red! It was hideous. I had been here before several times before and Selene did a great job. For some reason, she mixed the color wrong, I don't know what happened!!! I will never trust her again to do my hair color. I had to immediately go to another salon to have my color corrected. They validate parking, but not for the full cost, ended up being $ 3, which isn't bad for Brentwood. The salon itself is lovely. Cara is the best! I can't believe I haven't written this review sooner. Almost 5 years ago, Cara saved my hair from a hodgepodge of yellowish blondes and turned me into a blonde stunner. I've been her loyal devotee ever since. I began keeping her cards in my purse due to the frequently my color is praised followed up with "who does your hair?" She worked with my existing hair and brought my light color up to make it look like highlights which blend into my solidly blonde hair. I called about redeeming the Groupon and was told he doesn't take Groupon customers on the weekend. This is not stated anywhere in the "Things you should know" section in Groupon that the merchant has full control over. They remodeled the Salon and it looks Fabulous! Its all shiny and white and bright and I love it! I've written several reviews before, but I needed to update. Everyone at the salon is very nice. The other stylists are fun and friendly as well, but I only see SHANNON. When it comes to hair, she's my girl. I'm lazy and I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to caring for my hair. I' m a wash- and-go kind of girl. I don't use product or dye my hair. With that said, Shannon always gives me a great maintenance free cut. Shes always starts with a consult and then she gives her suggestions before proceeding. I've been going to her for years and she still does that. She listens and she does amazing work! The reason to keep coming aside form Shannon being a lot of fun is that people compliment me on my hair and haircut all the time, and I don't do anything to it! On more than 1 occasion I have been stopped by strangers...( walking down the street, in the ladies room, in elevators, etc.) And they want to touch my hair or they ask me where I go to get my hair done. Paid 95$ + a 30$ tip for a haircut I despise. Cara cut my hair way too short and made all the layers wonky and left my front layers basically the same length. The first thing I said was "I want my front layers chin length and short enough to fall out and frame my face". She cut off about 5-7 inches of my hair and literally proceeded to leave the front layers literally the same length. Do not go here if you want your hair how you want. She literally did nothing that I wanted and seemed like she literally used my hair to just do some hairstyle she wanted to do. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I am new to Los Angeles and was nervous to find a new hairstylist. What I get done to my hair is very simple--a glaze. I had the exact formula and brand from my old hairstylist so the task was practically idiot-proof. However, these hairstylists are CONTRACTED, which means they buy their own supplies. As a result, they directly benefit when lying about the product they use on your hair. That's what happened to me. I told her exactly what to use, she said she was going to use it, and instead ended up totally damaging my hair. I'm especially hurt because I double checked with her a million times about the product and even told her how damaged my hair use to be. It's really disappointing. Her name is LISA. Don't go to her. Don't go to this salon. Wouldn't you rather pay a little extra somewhere else, but know that the salon is paying for the product so you aren't getting scammed? Just got back from my haircut with Michael and I am delighted. I waited eight months to cut my hair so it was in pretty bad shape, Michael listen to exactly what I wanted and worked with me every step of the way. He is a perfectionist, he will tell you himself, but I loved the detail he put into my hair and the time he took to make sure that no strand was missed. He kept my length, which is what I wanted but he still got all of the dead ends. I feel like keeping length is hard to do with a lot of stylists and he nailed it. We had great communication, he has a lot of great perspectives and the conversation flows naturally. He is very open and honest with you on what he is going to do and he checks in with you every step of the way. Holy life saver. Terra Andersen saves. Profile: I'm an Korean girl with a LOT of thick hair. I was somewhat blonde but wanted to go lighter for the Summer. The 'high end salon' who sat me with a newbie stylist butchered my locks. 6+ hrs and $500 later and I actually felt like those girls who want to cry when they see their hair. It was bleached looking. Terra took me as a walk-in and broke down everything for me; what she thought would help. Everything she said made so much sense. It was the perfect consultation I've been missing. She did not do what I wanted and instead of offering to fix it, she tried to convince me that I was wrong. I've been going to Didi for over 20 years and she's the best! I live in Woodland Hills and driving to Brentwood is a destination but Didi is worth the effort. I have ringlet curly hair and she really knows and understands how to deal with that. Didi also has been the best when it comes to coloring/highlighting my hair. makes my highlights look natural and blends well with my natural color so when it grows out, it's not completely obvious. Didi (and Trish if Didi wasn't available) has also done Keratin treatments to my hair and my hair always looks great. I've always found the rest of the staff at Studio 210 so nice and pleasant.
