This is a good place to go, it's just a matter of taste (if one likes beer, keep going; if one likes whiskey, get a room and walk). When we got there there was 1 large table and a few others (less than half full). We ordered and it took 45 minutes to receive the wrong food. I immediately told the waitress who did offer to have it remade, however I didn't have another 45 minutes to wait for another plate when the other plate was right so I told her that the food was just slopped on the plate and wasn't in the least appetizing but I would try to eat it. I took 2 bites and just couldn't eat it and gave the plate back to the waitress, but when the bill came you can bet that We were charged for that plate! Planned an event for a group of 18 a week in advance. Arrived day of event none of the plans were in place, reserved area was open to anyone, the party was sat at visibly dirty tables without enough seating for the total group. The preplanned catering was not clearly communicated to the person in charge of cooking/catering for the event, resulting in only receiving half of the item that were preordered leaving part of the group not being able to eat with everyone else. Staff was not designated to waiting on the party, resulting in myself helping wait on the party. my credit card was over charged by almost $100.00, and when I contact Brigitte Buff who advised would be contacting the owner in regard to being charged more than my receipt reflected. I was told this " Hi Sarah, this is Brigitte. I left you a voice message but I was letting you know that I have a gift card for you in the amount of $100 and I wanted to know if you would want to swing by and pick it up or if you'd want us to mail it? $40.50 was taken off the receipt, Dawn the Mgr didn't charge for them, plus we are giving another $100 for the inconvenience". In my 10+ years of working in the food service industry charging a customers credit card more than the amount their receipt shows is called fraud. A good business apologizes and refunds the fraudulent charges made, not give the customer an excuse as to why they were fraudulently charged and offer a gift card to come back. The staff and owner are all very nice personable people, however the business practice is terrible. I didn't complain about the anything the day of the event, I instead empathized with their short staffing, lack of communication amoung staff, and assisted with serving my group so that they could enjoy their event. I now understand why customers in situations such as these act ugly, yell and scream at peopl. when you try to be nice and a good human it gets taken advantage of. I had to contact my credit card company send them a copy of my receipt to dispute the charge. read more

I've been here several times and have never been served my food in less than an hour. I decided to try a pickup order so I could receive my food by the time it was ready, but ended up waiting the 30 minutes I was told to wait for food preparation and an extra 45 minutes after I arrived to pick up my order (at the specified pick up time). I stood there for 45 minutes without being offered something for my long wait, such as a glass of water or a seat. All I received were excuses that they were short staffed and don't have a kitchen big enough to make food for two businesses. So disappointed this place was not worthy of making it a regular place for our riding group to frequent. We will not be back. First the staff was just unfriendly. The food was just food, nothing special. I had the ribs because someone I know said they were the best she'd ever eaten. Well they sucked.... I like ribs that fall off a bone. They were tough and chewy and not warm. I forgot to ask for no sauce so drowned in sauce. Pete and Robert reported their country fried steak sucked...way over cooked. On a positive note the sweet potato fries where very good as was my cottage cheese. I bought home 2/3 of the ribs to throw in the woods behind the house for the coyote however Pete saved them by steaming them. Once the sauce was removed and the ribs steamed, they were fall off the bone and actually had a good taste. But should not be my job to make their food taste better. The music was entirely too loud especially given the time of day and crowd that was there eating. While of course we did not starve it wasn't a place I will every go back to for any reason. We will continue to ride past from now on. Sorry I really wanted to like this place given how it is a middle point for a lot of our rides. Or could have been a stop on the way home for drinks etc. I would not even do that given their unfriendly nature. read more

What a diamond in the rough! Stopped here on my way from St Louis to Cape Girardeau, for business. The pictures on google don't serve this place justice. It's a bar, no doubt, but very updated and clean! Stopped by for lunch. Service was a little slow; there was only one person handling the bar and table customers. I ordered the brisket dinner and my colleague ordered the pulled pork. Both were pretty good! My brisket was sort of luke warm but the sauce was so good, it was easily overlooked. I love the fact that they have fresh vegetables as an option for a side dish. I'd love to check this place out on a weekend night when they have live music! read more

Newly renovated and looks great! Upscale rustic...lots of wood, very cool looking. We had a group of 12 that had rode out for lunch and were not disappointed. We sat in the outside covered dining area and ordered a smorgasbord of different entrees and appetizers. From the hand breaded mushrooms, peel-n-eat shrimp, dirty fries, pulled pork nachos, white chicken chili, chicken wings, brisket sandwich...all was very good, as we were all sampling each other's dishes. Our server, Tina, was very nice and prompt, as was the other wait staff that was helping with all our food and drinks. We LOVE Dew Drop Inn. What a great place for parents and kids to hang out. The atmosphere is awesome. First visit we ended up staying for hours. Kids played outside with other kids on the patio area. Super cute decor and to die for Bloody Mary's are the only thing that made our 45 minute drive worth it! Seriously, amazing Bloody Mary with yummy toppings, but was missing the brisket and limes. Our waitress was very nice however they only had two waitresses so the service was extremely slow because of the volume of people being served. Terrible customer service from who I assumed was the manager helping the waitresses move people in the restaurant who were waiting for a table. This manager who came over to us after we finished our meal and asked us to move so someone else could have our table. I still had a drink in my glass. We just finished eating and we're waiting for the band to start playing. She approached our table and asked how our meal was but without waiting for us to respond she wanted to know if she could move us to make room for someone else who wanted a table. It was 7:50 pm and the band started at 8 pm. I said no I wasn't finished with my drink and we were staying to see what the band was like. And she stood there looking at us. She said we could move you somewhere else. Mind you the place was packed. I told her no, we were staying cause I just paid for my meal and hadn't finished my drink. We walked in on a Saturday night around 6:15. My fiance and I knew that it was going to be busy due to it being on a Saturday. We walked in and waited for the hostess to give us a seat. The hostess said there were no tables available and that there were not going to be for a while, so she sat us at a side table next to the pool tables. The hostess told us that someone would be over to help us in a few minutes. We waiting for about 10 minutes. Two couples come over next to us and sit down at a bar area, and were waited on immediately; while they were being waited on the hostess asked the waitress to wait on us as well and she said that was fine. 15 minutes later we still were not waited on. The same waitress was just walking around checking on her other tables instead of helping us. The hostess came back over and said that another waitress will be over to help us, and yet after another 15 minutes no one came over. We waited a whole 45 minutes for someone to come wait on us. Worst service ever. We will not be back. This used to be a hometown bar with good service and food, and it is turning into a terrible place that no one wants to go to anymore.
