The tow truck person is never called, they give him free range to just tow people's vehicles. Last night I guess he couldn't get anyone, so made up an entire reason to tow my vehicle. Citing I was over on a loading zone when 1-tire barely over it and 2- there was no signage to indicate it was a loading zone per Texas code. Ladies at the front desk tried to justify it and don't really care. Other than that, this place charges at luxury rates and there is absolutely nothing luxurious about this place. My apartment has a gas station sink and mirror in the main bedroom bathroom. Save your money and avoid!

I've stayed at many different apartments across the country, and I must say that this apartment complex is the best one I have ever stayed in. The landscaping and upkeep of the outside of the apartments are always on point. The grass is always cut, and you never see trash laying around on the outside of the apartments. The outside dumpsters are conveniently located between the different apartments. This makes taking out the trash an ease. Anytime you have a maintenance issue, the maintenance team takes care of the repairs in an expeditious manner. I never had any issues with the staff. Andrea (Community Manager) and Brooke (The Assistant Community Manager) are always friendly, and very helpful! No matter how busy they are, they are always able to multi-task and resolve any issues or concerns that you may bring to them. All the staff at Clear Creek Meadows makes you feel as if you are part of a big family. Hands down, Clear Creek Meadows is the best apartment complex in the Ft. Hood area. Trust me, you will not be disappointed living here!!

I lived in Five Hills Apartments in Copperas Cove from 2010-2014 while stationed at Fort Hood, TX…read more While many people in the area have their opinions about the place, the easiest way to summarize it is the simple "you get what you pay for" concept. For less than half the going rate on most 2 bedroom apartments, we were able to enjoy the comforts of having "all utilities paid" thrown in. I didn't know that anyone still did that honestly. The maintenance tech lived on site and was quick when needed. The building manager Robert was easy to work with. At the end when my wife and I were moving out (when I completed my time in the Army) he worked with us to allow us extra time in the apartment without having to pay an entire additional month. As for the apartment itself, we lived up front in one of the larger units, so I cannot really speak for the smaller apartments in the back. Our place faced the highway so we had ample parking and always felt secure due to the heavy flow of traffic right there. The rooms were small, but for what we were paying I wasn't surprised. The biggest issue was during the summer months. There is no central A/C, so all the cold air is provided from a window unit in the living room. This can make the rear bedrooms rather stuffy during the hot seasons and box fans only do so much. At one point I was actually willing to purchase A/C units for the back rooms and leave them there after we moved out, but I was told that would increase my rent by a huge amount so we decided to just deal with the heat. The neighborhood is sketchy but in a harmless sort of way I guess. (This is just my estimation.) We had some strange folks that lived in the back that would dig through the dumpsters, but they were actual tenants. (I used to hate taking the trash out because some of them were a bit chatty and would walk up and look in the trash bag while I was still carrying it.) I never heard police sirens or gunshots at night though, so I count that as a win. The complex is centrally located in Copperas Cove and is near everything. H.E.B. is five minutes away or less depending on traffic, as is Wal-Mart. There are plenty of fast food restaurants as well as nicer sit-down places just minutes away. There are lots of 24 hour locations for food in Cove as well. Just beware the area during the rush hour. Turning left can impossible during between 4pm-7pm. Overall I would recommend this place for a single person looking to live cheap and save some money, or perhaps a small family that doesn't need much space. If you're attempting to move to Five Hills from a larger apartment, please take a tour first because you likely won't have space for a lot.

worst apartments ever avoid at all costs…read more first and foremost, me and my spouse did not chose this place willingly. during the process of moving into the fort hood area this complex was the only one with availability in the time period we were moving into town. rent was super cheap and with utilities included we thought what could go wrong? weeks before even moving into the area, right before the lease signing process we were promised a room that was undergoing floor renovations and was stated it was going to be done the week we were going to move in. that week approaches and we call to make sure everything is in place. turns out the room wasn't finished and it was going to take another 2 weeks. this was very inconvenient due to already having plans set to make the move since we lived 8 hours from the city. we told the management this and they ended up somehow fixing it and gave us a last minute room the week we arrive. i don't think words can describe how TINY this place is. it's not stated anywhere on the apartment websites but the rooms are practically studios with no separation from the kitchen to the bedroom. this place is also infested with all sorts of bugs so expect roaches, crickets, wasps, scorpions, and even lizards in your bed sheets. 3 months into the lease we receive a letter on our door stating we have to transfer out of the unit within 30 days. we find this absolutely absurd and inconvenient due to having an almost fully furnished unit. there was supposedly a water leak and all the floors had to be renovated. the same exact issue we had before we even moved in. we waited more than 30 days to be transferred to another unit since the manager was on a vacation. once we got back word on which unit we were being transferred to we had everything packed up and a few men helped us move into our new unit that was just as bad. in this new unit, we began to hear scratching, movement, and rustling in the walls. this went on for a couple days until we started hearing squeaks at night. we had thought there was some mice behind the restroom wall until one morning after hearing all the commotion there was a baseball sized hole behind our toilet. we immediately alerted the front office and a work order was put in to fix the wall. it was fixed a day later and then not even a day after that we heard more noises from inside the wall. i had woken up early one morning to go to work and had seen the maintenance guy come out of my neighbor's apartment with a bucket full of rat traps and a dead rat on one!!! it was absolutely horrific to see and knowing they were in my bathroom grossed us out. we dealt with this issue for 2 more months and the rats had eventually moved to a coat closet near the restroom and another wall near the living room but even after calling the Health Department and complaining to the manager angelina who is the most entitled, unprofessional, and incompetent person i've ever dealt with, the problem went unsolved. to our surprise this was a common problem for every resident we had talked to but the management had failed to take care of. it wasn't until the residents made more complaints and we threatened the incursion of the Health Department that it wouldn't be remedied. finally after the cold months passed we had no more issues but experienced long term effects including insomnia, paranoia, and anxiety. even though these apartments are cheap in price, it doesn't amount to the stress and inconvenience you'll be facing. we advise all military personnel to avoid this area and to sacrifice spending a little more in rent to steer clear. we do appreciate the maintenance guy and front office lady who were understanding and sympathetic of the situation but this place definitely needs to be shut down and demolished.

Armadillo Properties has been fantastic to work with for the past 15 years!…read moreI purchased a new 4-plex with Denise's help back in 2006 and have been very happy with their property management ever since. They take very good care of the property and grounds. They perform an annual inspection of all units and send me a report with photos of anything that needs attention. Repairs are made promptly and tenants are charged if the repair was their responsibility. They have an excellent website for accounting and documents and communications with the staff were great. Armadillo was very good at finding good tenants and I rarely had a vacancy that lasted for more than a month. Since Armadillo was so competent and easy to work with, I recently asked if they would help with the sale of the property. They found me an all cash buyer for a good price within a few days and we closed escrow in about 10 days! I can recommend Armadillo Properties to anyone looking to invest in the Fort hood area without hesitation!

I had to pay and spend 2 days in the hotel before I was able to receive a key which counted towards my lease after I moved into the city for a one year program. I was sent a check out list with strict request for a professional cleaner to do the cleaning with request for a receipt which I obliged. The cleaners charged 400 dollars with pictures of what they did, I was still eventually charged wey more for reasons that the apartment was not cleaned. Pictures posted on my webpage was pictures pre cleaning ( I guess they went in precleaning and took pictures because the apartment was relatively clean.) completely different from pictures sent to me by the cleaners. I have them on my phone. Charged $180 for small sized bathtub, $270 for small sized kitchen, $120 for non existent dining area, $156 for bedroom, plus $60,$80, $90 and smaller amounts for cleaning that could easily be done by a kid of 6 year old which the cleaners did, $420 for paint touch up. I lived there alone as a pharmacy resident and everyone knows that residents barely have time to notice the colors of their walls so only spent the night at the apartment to even cause any damage. Would travel home to my family most weekends. At the end, I had my $1550 deposit taken with an extra bill of $660 dollars posted. I have pictures that without a second look, contradict theirs post cleaning pictures, My move in was horrible with someone warning me not to contact to disturb her for anything after I was without functional laundry machine for weeks. I was too busy to notice but always got the hit whenever due diligence was required. Please beware of Goldstar property Bismarck North Dakota

Gold Star is your average, crappy property management company. They seem decent in the beginning,…read morebut by the end of your lease you realize they are total scam artists. Before we moved in I asked that they remove an old wooden playset that was falling apart. It had holes in the floor, nails and rebar sticking out. They removed it but left a small retaining wall with a huge piece of rebar sticking out. A month later my cousin was playing fetch with my dog in the backyard. My dog lep over the retaining wall and ripped his chest skin open on the rebar. It cost me over $400 in vet bills and they refused to help pay for any of it. Then it took their maintenance man over 2 weeks to come fix the retaining wall properly (I had already hammered it back into the railroad tie.) and remove the rest of the unsafe staircase left in the backyard. I noticed that the garage door opener didn't work and the garage door didn't lock. They never came to fix it. I had to leave my garage unlocked and unsecured for the entire lease. The place was filthy, dirty when I moved in. I cleaned the whole place to my standards. My mom even came over with her pressure washer and did the driveway and both front and back porch. I also cleaned the place when I moved out, also had the carpets cleaned but they still charged me a $200 cleaning fee. When I called to speak with Stacy about the charges she was incredibly rude and belittling. She spoke to me like I was a stupid child. They also charged me for an outside light bulb that was not mentioned to me at my move out inspection. Stacy also revealed to me that the home owner was going through a divorce and had to sell the place. Very unprofessional behavior, disclosing the owners personal information like that.

The owners have been nothing but completely upstanding regarding their sales. Neither time when I purchased both homes were I rushed into purchasing a home in order for them to get a sale. In fact, my first experience was so awesome that I sought out for them to purchase my second home. I know that they will work honestly on my behalf. As far as the rental side of things, they are great. My neighbor is renting his home and he also have to maintain the property he's renting, and it's from a different rental company. I've rented under other properties that weren't nationwide companies and they pretty much follow the same guidelines. If you sign a lease then you already know what you are expected to do. A rental property cannot legally keep your money if you have proof that the property was already messed up when you moved in. Personally, it is the responsibility of the renter to ensure that everything is in order when you move in. Take photos, record your move in, record your walk through. Take some responsibility on yourself to ensure that you and your needs taken care of. Their genuineness is real and they do care about your concerns.
