We got 7 burgers 4 fries 1 onion ring 4 waters and 2 sodas and with ADDED gratuity was $105 definitely too expensive!

Love Kirby's. We go whenever we're in Sikeston. I'd rather go to Kirby's than Lambert's. The burgers and fries are so much better than anywhere else. The service is great. read more

Came in for lunch. Ordered 4 drinks, 3 burgers and a grilled cheese. All had sides. Fries are crinkle cut, jalapeño poppers are stuffed with American cheese. $40 later. No frill burgers. No lettuce, tomato. Only pickles on the side. Burgers are maybe 4oz before cooked. Reviews said 27 different sandwiches???? Three single diners came in after us. Two eat ins and a take out. We ordered before them, yet all were served before our lunch came out. Clearly they take care of the locals first. I get it, but hard to watch, when you're waiting with kids. Waitress was having personal issues with her son and partner, and we got to witness it. Another local, walked in, grabbed a soda and bag of food behind the bar and walked out. Odd! My family stopped here on the way to Tennessee, seemed like it would be cheap and a fun place to eat. We were very wrong. The wait staff was rude and messed up our order multiple times. We went without drinks for 3/4 of our visit and 3 of our burgers didn't even have a burger patty. The burgers we did receive were burnt and tasted terrible. We came here on a recommendation from a friend. I had never heard of it before. When you walk in it's like stepping back in time a good 30 years. Kirby's looks like an old school diner. The staff, two young girls that really didn't fit the vibe, were somewhat unfriendly. One of them came to the table and asked what we'd have. My wife said, "this is our first time here." She then said oh okay. Well we have burgers, hotdogs and the Kirby burger which is a double. They did have coke and Pepsi products, so that was cool! Our food came out really quickly! The onion rings were over done and hard to eat. But the Kirby burger was really good! It tasted like a burger you'd get at the fair. The price was pretty close to the fair also. All in all, the food was really good but I don't know when I'll be back again. I just wasn't wowed by anything here. read more

This place is authentic when it comes to a burger! They taste like they stepped out of the 1950s. I will be back. I had the Kirby cheeseburger and onion rings. The rings were extra Crispy. The burger was epic. I would only throw out this warning. If you do not like onions then please ask them to back off on the onions. This is the oldest running restaurant in Missouri. read more

I stopped in because I was doing business in the area and saw their famous hamburger slogan. I asked for their "famous" burger and soon recived a kirby burgar. It is a double cheeseburger with onions. It's was good. Maybe not absolutely best burger I had ever had but still very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I stopped into Kirby's randomly because I needed to grab a quick lunch. It was delicious but beyond that the service made my day. I was having a bad day and I had forgotten about it all by the time I had left. Whoever served me, I am sorry I didn't get your name, deserves a raise. Kirby's is a Sikeston institution. It's been around forever and it's time for them to change up a few things. The Kirby burger is two patties with onions and isn't too bad. However, they put the pickles underneath the sandwich in the basket. This leads to a soggy bottom bun that immediately falls apart. Yuck! The fries and onion rings are standard food service frozen items. Get the fried okra instead, it easily stands above the rest and is some of the best I've had. read more

A real old time style, retro cafe. Staff was friendly, conversations lively, and manager was personable. It is off the beaten path and near downtown. We would go there again. I use to go here very often when I lived in Sikeston. Usually on Saturday's. They always had good burgers and I loved the atmosphere . There was a old man who was always there with a battered old shopping cart shining shoes in front of the cafe. Everyone knew him and called him ''The Joker'' or cool Papa'' He was a old blues man as well and often had a beat up guitar strapped to the top of his shopping cart. Sometimes I would watch him play and after awhile he would show me a thing or two on the guitar. I loved listening to his stories of all the places he had played back in his early days and he usually would con me into buying him lunch. I didn't mind I admired being around a old blues man like him and he helped me learn to play some decent blues guitar. Sharon Kirby owned the cafe and had taken it over after her dad Red Kirby past away. She was always kind to me and was always happy to see me and Joker sitting at the counter eating her delicious hamburgers. I learned a lot about life sitting in her cafe eating hamburgers and listening to Joker's stories. Some years ago Joker left and moved to California. By that time I was busy playing music and very rarely came in to the cafe. I moved out of Sikeston to a bigger city to pursue a career in music. Some years later I returned for a visit and was sad to learn Sharon had died from injuries from a motorcycle accident. Or so I heard. But none the less I went in to the cafe and it still looked the same and the burger I had was great. I looked over at the counter where Joker and I would sit and it brought back a lot of memories. So maybe this really isn't a Yelp review about a business. But it is a story of a place that holds special memories for me. And I am glad it still is going strong. That you Kirby's for the memories. Sharon rest in peace. And Joker where ever you are know you taught a young kid to play some wicked blues guitar. I am in your debt.
