I am currently waiting to serve this guy with a small claims case. He has no physical address, but currently working on obtaining one for him. Here is the issue- hired this guys company last year to install our Christmas lights in the home, one of his employees came "Josh" and did an amazing job. This year I get a text from Chywan at midnight asking if I wanted my lights completed and I would receive an early discount. I told him it's midnight we will talk tomorrow. We ended up setting up a date and he was 4 hours late. He had (2) employees with him and they started on the house. When they were done it was not a clean job and they had the Christmas fixtures backwards, despite giving him the video from the previous year in advance. Okay, mistakes happen. Did not wrap the tree in the front yard, nor did the job look clean. Then this guy didn't show up again to fix it. After multiple text messages he finally says he is coming. 8 hours later he makes it again. Then leaves and the wiring is incorrect, he doesn't even check the wiring before he leaves. I have to send him multiple messages again. No show again, then we have an issue with one of the items he puts on the roof and can't get him to come back and fix after paying $200. The lights are falling off the roof, he didn't use light clips, he used a glue gun and the job doesn't look clean like his employee did the last year. I texted him numerous times and gave him an ultimatum to either refund my money, fix the job correctly or do nothing and I will take him to email claims. Never heard from this guy again. I end up reaching out to Josh who was his employee the prior year and he tells me he was never paid and quit after being owed over 1k. He's a military vet and Purple Heart recipient with a wife and kids. I believe him more than Chaywan who always shows up like he is on 20 Red Bulls, and as a certified D.A.R. (Drug Alcohol Recognition Expert) I won't get into that one. Josh ended up coming to my home and tearing everything down and fixing everything correctly. It looks like last year and what a great job! As a former military vet he understands work ethic and I'm convincing him to go into business next year and do light for the Christmas season. Chywan is not reliable and has no sense of business ethics or customer service. He always flakes or is late and will always give you some story or excuse and then claim he is a hard working business man. This was not about the $200, it was about him disappearing without completing the job correctly. I paid Josh $200 to fix the job and gave him and extra $100 just for being so professional and doing a great job. Chywan either refund my money or you will be served soon. I have the videos of before and after and how your job fell apart all over my house and my neighbors statements as well after seeing the work. You ignored my texts to make it right! Up to you and I have all the text messages from you flaking out. I will post an update on how Chywan will handle this. We had a small leak in our ceiling on the ground level of our home recently and our home warranty covered the repair of the pipe and ceiling, but they basically just patched it up and it looked horrible. It was about 6ft by 3ft of ceiling that was damaged in our main living/kitchen area. We called DFS to come out and texturize the ceiling, paint it, fix the lines where the ceiling meets the walls and basically make it all look brand new and pretty again. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. They were able to send out someone to fix it within two days of my call, they were on time, very respectful of our home and clean and nice! I stay at home with my toddler kids so having people working in our home can sometimes be really difficult. This was very easy. Also, the pricing is incredibly reasonable. Chywan and his company is amazing at what they do. I called and he answered right away and had our estimate right away with a scheduled time to arrive the very next day! He was spot on time, ready to work as soon as he got here. We needed a medium sized bedroom to be repainted white because the old paint job was scuffed up with smudges and dings from the previous renter and we needs to have another person to rent the room. His pricing is very affordable, especially with everything his company includes in addition to the actual paint job. He filled in the many holes we had from previous nails, took care of the trim, and even touched up the inside of the closet just to be nice! He offered so many options of paint, water/oil based. I never once hesitated during the service, and the final job is perfect. In addition to everything, Chywan is so easy to talk to and makes you feel like he's your friend. He really cares about his work, his company, and how you feel about the service, which is extremely important. I needed my two-story home in Mission Viejo painted. My neighbor had Chywan and DFS Painting paint their home a couple of years back and highly recommended DFS. I went over to see his work more closely and was impressed with the attention to detail. Chywan is the best! We used him when we first moved into our house over 3 years ago. He painted the walls, removed wood panels, did dry wall repair, and shot texture to the wall that the paneling was removed from. He is efficient, thorough, and cost effective. We just used Chywan again this weekend to paint our interior doors that we bought. Cheaper than the company we bought the doors from and I wanted to give him the business. He did a fabulous job, chalking the molding around the doors, hand rolling the 8 doors, and painting the door frame. He spent his time and made sure it was right. He buys the product ahead of time and uses high quality paint from Dunn-Edwards Paints. He made sure to come by for an inspection first to match the paint on the existing modeling. I would highly recommend him and have already recommended him to my neighbor who needs dry wall repair. He's booked for next weekend for her! read more

NO SHOW! Made an appointment with Chywan by phone. On our appointment day, after waiting an hour I called him. It was clear he completely forgot about our appointment. I had to give him my address, name and phone number all over. He had no intention of ever coming to our house! Two hours after our appointment time one of his workers showed up and said I would receive and estimate by email. A week later I still have no estimate! I contacted DFS, got a quote, and waited, waited waited for HOA approval of color selection. Once all that was done, DFS was on it. Saturday power cleaned the house. Monday-Wednesday painted. I have used DFS Painting over the years for paint jobs around my house and everytime Chywan and his crew finish the job, I have always been very pleased with their work because of their attention to detail, they come to the job on time, their workmanship is impeccable and they leave your place like they've never been there. We contracted Chywan to paint three bedrooms, a hallway and all the doors in our house. It started well enough but he couldn't finish in time and had to re-paint all the doors because they didn't come out right. He didn't sand the shiny surface properly which led to the paint peeling a couple of days after he finally finished. I also realized he did not use the paint from Behr as I asked and tried to get the color match from Dunn Edwards. Since I had to re-touch everything that was peeling, I used the Behr paint and realized it wasn't the right shade. I tried to contact him after the job was done, leaving messages and text and he never responded. Would not recommend. read more

Hello, I contacted DFS painting and spoke with Chywan about setting up an appointment to get a quote. We had a color coach come in and help us with all our colors for downstairs about 1500 sq. including our kitchen cabinets etc. I was so impressed with Chywan on the phone I did not even call the other 2 painting companies I had lined up to also give us quotes. I figuered I had a ballpark of where it should land cost wise that if he was even close, he was hired! Well, he never showed up for the appointment to give us a quote. No call, no text, no email, just no show. Since then I have called and left 2 messages trying to find out what happened and see if we could reschedule. No calls back, no responses. I own a small business myself, and I can not wait for the day that I can just blow off $5000 jobs because I must be so busy that my customers dont matter. Oh wait, that would never happen because I care about my customers. I want to be clear, this review is in no way a review of the quality of their work. Long story short. My wife and I moved from LA to Mission Viejo; and this place that we bought needed some serious paint job besides other things as well. One of my wife's friends recommend Chywan and his team who were from DFS painting co. The house needed work and I though it was going to take weeks for them to paint everything. These guys knocked it out in 8 days (2 story home/4 bedroom/ 3 bathrooms) straight by working hard specially in this hot weather. We are very pleased with the work; it was beyond what I have imagined and very meticulously done. Of course we were on the budget so Chywan worked out a great plan for us and prioritized the work. Chywan also brought in an expert painter named Ricardo. Ricardo worked hard as hell and only left the residence when I closed or when it was tool late to work. These guys aren't only painters; this is there career and bread and butter. I would recommend them and use them for future without no hesitation. We also decided to paint our stairs rails and Ricardo sanded everything within 2 days and stained our stairs to match the color of our hardwood floor. Just fantastic ! My husband found Chaywan on next door while we were looking for someone to come and fix the cracks on our ceiling. Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience. He did fix some areas as well as the main crack on the Ceiling but the the crack case back the next morning after he finished the job. We tried to contact him and asked him to come back and finish the job but he claimed that he told my husband the first day he came for consultation that there would be 2 option to fix the crack and he told us to go with the cheapest option which was a quick fix but his claim is not true. The bottom line is that we are not happy with the service and I would not recommend him at all. read more

I hired DFS painting to paint two exterior doors and an interior door. Chywan took meticulous detail in the prep work to guarantee high quality and a great clean up.
