Here's a disappointing story. I have an abscessed tooth and for a few reasons it has to be removed…read moreby an oral surgeon. I am now 33 days past diagnosis for the abscess. I went through the process and got a date in the future to have it extracted by DFWOMS. I paid the money required before the deadline to keep my procedure date. I was supposed to have it removed this morning but yesterday at 4:30 in the afternoon they called and said "we had to update your treatment plan and now you have to pay another $600 before your surgery in the morning." That's a 30% increase to what they had already quoted and I had paid. It was last minute, I can't adjust that quick. If they had notified me in a timely fashion it wouldn't be a problem. I recently bought new tires for my car. I could have delayed that. I told them "I need you to work with me and give me less than 30 days to get it paid, but I need this tooth out of my head. The antibiotics to keep the infection away are destroying my guts." The call from them first thing this morning was "you have to pay or we reschedule." I told them "if it doesn't happen today you can refund my money and I will go somewhere else, I want to talk to the office manager." Then I hung up. After I scheduled a consult with another surgeon for tomorrow morning, I called and asked to talk to the office manger so we could discuss timeline for the refund. I was told "she is on her way to the office and will call as soon as she gets here." That was at 8:34 this morning. I have waited all day and nothing. You have to understand, they don't care about patient quality of life. They don't care the antibiotics are tearing me up. They don't care that I have been off my arthritis meds for a month at the request of their dentist. They don't care that I shuffled everything around at work and found driver to drive me to the procedure and get me home. Nope, patient doesn't matter, only the money. Eight hours waiting today and still no return call from the office manager.

Absolutely horrible service. I went into for a cleaning and never got that cleaning. Instead they…read moregave me a treatment plan with a cost of almost $10,000. They told me I could just get a regular cleaning that a needed a "special" cleaning and $1,000 for filings and a bunch of un necessary stuff. I had a friend that is a hygienist look at my bill and they wanted me to get the most expensive of everything. She also told me most of it was unnecessary. My husband had 2 teeth extracted. We told them he wanted gas for the extractions and they ignored us and only numbed his mouth. He was getting a too and bottom tooth extracted. My husband had to tell the doctor he was supposed to extract the bottom one too. The doctor obviously didn't look at my husband's file because he sent him a prescription for Penicillin. My husband is extremely allergic to Penicillin. Thank goodness he decided to check before popping them in his mouth. They also charged him over $700 for fillings that haven't even been done. When I called and spoke to Vanessa to get my money back she hung up on me. We later found out that Bailey was telling other employees that my husband was an ahole. The people are so rude and unethical. I called their headquarters in Dallas and left a message for the HR executive director Chad, and reported them to the Better business Bureau. Do not go here. It is a hot mess and they are just going to try to get as much money out of you as possible.

We just called to the office but the doctor's assistant is such a shameless liar! My surgery for 1 tooth extraction was on Friday, they charged me more than I should have, charged me extra for deep sleeping anesthesia. The surgery lasted about 30 minutes. At 9:04 am I went into the surgery room with the doctor's assistant (there was a monitor with the time right in front of me). I waited for the doctor until 9:30 am (when dr.Shillingburg came in, I looked at the time on the monitor again). A few minutes later I got an injection from deep sleep . They called to my husband at 10:01am so he could pick me up! I'm 100% sure surgery was about 30 minutes, maybe even less!! But the doctor's assistant lied so much that the surgery lasted 47 minutes! REALLY??? And she said the surgery started at 8:52am! What a shame! Omg ! Check your cameras before lying to a patient who trusted you! At 8:52am, I was still standing at the checkout, sorting out the bill you gave me and trying to add $3,000 for an additional service I didn't need, in addition to $3,313 for one tooth extraction! I asked for it to be removed because the bill was already huge! It was about 6.000$ ! CRAZY ! They are the most expensive in this area, but they turned out to be such scammers! I'm shocked!

I got a little nervous because there wasn't anybody at the front desk when I walked in so was very close to leaving. I stayed and so very happy that I did because from the first encounter until walking out the door...Dr. S. and his team were extremely nice, patience and kind!! Oh...I also received a great report from Dr. S. which is always a plus. If you're looking for a clean environment, awesome dental assistants/team with great personality and professionalism and a good dentist then you should try the Red Oak Smile Center.
