We have lived in Hudson for more than two years and use Monro for everything. We've really had excellent experiences - they work on both our cars, a 2006 Honda Accord and a 2012 Honda CR-V. They always manage to work us in, even last minute, quickly diagnose a problem, and remedy it. Just last week, they fixed an exhaust monitor on the Accord after the "Check Engine" light came on about $300 - I am sure I could not have done better at the dealer, and this shop is right in our town. They inspect all our cars, and turn them around promptly. Bill at the front desk is a pro, polite and professional. I recommend this place to everyone who asks.

I like my service records to be posted to carfax and auto check. These were the most unprofessional people from top to bottom I've ever dealt with. I don't mind paying premium prices for service but one expects something in return as simple as recording and posting this information. The place was filthy inside and out. I asked the mechanic a simple question about the alignment and he had no idea what I was talking about so I'm not sure it was done correctly at all. Lost my family's business foreve. Oh yes don't try and call to complain only get a call center you can't understand a word they say. Tried calling corporate but all numbers no good. Going out of business I suppose.

Because he said it was too dangerous to drive the car, I had to rent a car and pay my mechanic to properly install the brake lines. Because Matt had refused to reimburse me for the tow, I took my case to court and received a judgement in my favor. Matt did not deign to show up for the court hearing, and he does not accept responsibility for anything he does, including doing such shoddy work that lives are endangered. He has not responded to the hearing and paid for his mistakes.

Then it started slowing down and chugging as if the brakes were grabbing. I managed to get home to Ghent from Chatham before it stopped moving entirely. I called Matt and he recommended a tow truck business that charged me $150 from my house to Greenport, less than 12 miles if you don't go the long way around, which he did. Matt's employer told me the clips were defective and that they had ordered new ones and had them before my car got to the garage. Since then, Matt has been messing with me. First, he said he wasn't responsible, and when I asked him who was, he wouldn't tell me where he had purchased the clips from, but said he'd "call her" and get back to me, which he did not. When I called him, he said that the company didn't take responsibility for defective parts and he'd give me some discounts along the way, which would have been a long way because I usually only go there for tires, and I had just purchased $800 worth from him. Long story shorter than it could be, after putting me off many times, he finally said he'd reimburse me if I gave him the receipt for the tow. I left a copy of it after hours in his slot for him and he claimed he never saw it. Then, today, 5 months later, I took him another copy of the receipt, and he said that it was supposed to have been taken care of, that the Auto Zone nearby was supposed to have sent me a check, and I should go there, which I did. They said they didn't know what I was talking about, and they don't sell those clips to him, so I went back, and then he said the manager I had talked to had told him that she was looking into it. The manager at Auto Zone had acted like she had never heard anything about it. Five months and still no refund!

They tried charging my friend over $100 for labor when the company website clearly states that replacement parts AND LABOR are free for warranty service. I talked to the manager because my friend doesn't speak great English, he said he'd have to check the website to verify that warranty policy. THE NERVE! He knew damn well he'd been caught and wouldn't admit it. In the end my friend got the work done for free but they tried ripping him off. A SECOND time. $850 for an alternator? It's not a BMW!!
