I was surprised at the two low ratings on here for this place. But then it makes sense that people complain when things go well, but that you may not run out to write a good review of your mechanic. So here's one.... We have lived in Hudson for more than two years and use Monro for everything. We've really had excellent experiences - they work on both our cars, a 2006 Honda Accord and a 2012 Honda CR-V. They always manage to work us in, even last minute, quickly diagnose a problem, and remedy it. Just last week, they fixed an exhaust monitor on the Accord after the "Check Engine" light came on about $300 - I am sure I could not have done better at the dealer, and this shop is right in our town. They inspect all our cars, and turn them around promptly. Bill at the front desk is a pro, polite and professional. I recommend this place to everyone who asks. read more

Recently I spent 400,00 on service at your Waynesville N C location. Got home and realized that my make, model , year and mileage along with serial number was omitted from ticket. I like my service records to be posted to carfax and auto check. These were the most unprofessional people from top to bottom I've ever dealt with. I don't mind paying premium prices for service but one expects something in return as simple as recording and posting this information. The place was filthy inside and out. I asked the mechanic a simple question about the alignment and he had no idea what I was talking about so I'm not sure it was done correctly at all. Lost my family's business foreve. Oh yes don't try and call to complain only get a call center you can't understand a word they say. Tried calling corporate but all numbers no good. Going out of business I suppose. read more

I started bringing my car to Monro in Hudson after a friend couldn't stop raving about how well they take care of her car. Now I get it. After seeing their work firsthand, I trust them completely. Bill and Ian are fantastic. They are respectful and easy to work with. Recently, after an oil change, coolant flush and an engine mount replacement, I drove for about three hours and could feel the difference. That kind of result says a lot. I live about two and a half hours away, but I now make the trip to Hudson for oil changes and any other work without hesitation. Their prices are right in line with other shops in the area, but what you get in return is peace of mind, excellent service and honest time estimates. Do not trust these people with your vehicle. I had gone to get my auto emissions exam completed, and was told that I needed to have the tint removed from my front windows before I could pass. I did as requested and returned a second time to have the auto emissions redone. I was told there was no one available to do the test that day, but I could make an appointment for the next day. It is important to note here, that my car was fully seen from the appointment desk. When I returned for the appointment, I was told by the person at the front desk that my car would not pass the emissions exam because my back windows were tinted. I don't appreciate being lied to and having my time wasted. To be lied about what I actually needed to pass NY state auto emissions, and then to not be told when I had returned afterwards and booked an appointment. What is wrong with these people? If they don't know the rules of the emissions exam, what else don't they know? Do not trust these people with your Vehicle. read more

There's a reason there's so many bad reviews. Got my breaks worked on here. The price was very high for simple work and within 5 miles of leaving my breaks completely stopped working while I was driving! Extremely unsafe. They offered no refund and were very unapologetic. I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones, but this is pertains to safety so I have to say something :( I went in last week to have a tire patched - the owner aggressively told me he couldn't patch the tire and that I needed 4 new tires immediately. None of this was true which I know because my dad, who passed away just a few weeks ago, was a mechanic who owned a really reputable repair shop in CT for the past 45 years had literally just serviced the truck and he would never in a million years let me drive with bad tires. Also, when I eventually had to have the car towed to my dad's shop for his business partner to fix what Monro broke, he said the tire was totally patchable (although not necessarily the easiest patch) and that all the other tires were fine. Not wanting to be pressured into buying 4 new tires on the spot, I said okay thanks, I'll think about it, and asked if in the meantime, they could please put my spare tire (which was a full size spare in good condition, not a donut or anything) on and one of the workers kindly obliged. This young man was really polite and helpful and I was grateful. I have zero complaints about the way he treated me in that moment. The problem is, just a few days later I was driving and the wheel almost fell off!! I could see it wobbling in the rearview mirror and when I pulled over, I saw one of the lug nuts had already fallen off and the other 5 were completely loose. Thankfully I was right in front of a repair shop, where the entire staff was flabbergasted by Monro because the lug nuts were completely stripped and the tire couldn't be put back on. Everyone was so happy I stopped driving when I did because I was literally minutes from the wheel falling off and I'm 9 months pregnant to boot. It was a very dangerous situation and every mechanic who's seen the aftermath (4 in total) says Monro was practicing gross negligence when they put the spare on. read more

This had previously been my destination for auto maintenance - the hours made it convenient and the staff was polite. Unfortunately the last time I took one of my cars in for new brakes they botched the job. I could right away that something was off. I eventually took it to a different shop that identified the issue that the pads weren't properly installed. Despite the botched job, I decided I would try them again with a different car. I called, told them the model, that it needed new brake pads, and made an appointment to wait while it was being repaired. What Monro didn't tell me is that there was *no* possibility that they could do the job quickly. They don't stock the parts and would have to go to Albany for them. Why couldn't they tell me this when I made the appointment? Why couldn't they give me the option of securing the parts ahead of time, even if it required a deposit? Instead, they chose to waste my time. Last time I try this shop. read more

Everyone here that has done work on my vehicles are experienced, honest and courteous. True professionals which work harmoniously together. Bill G. People always write negative experiences and rarely share the good ones. I was driving my daughter back to college when my jeep started shaking and when I pulled off the road I noticed two lug nuts were gone. I randomly found this place and Joe was amazing. Got me in within a half hour and diagnosed the problem. They didn't wind up fixing it because of complications but he showed me what the issues were and if it weren't a Sunday I would have let him order the parts and had it taken care of. He tightened it all back up and sent me on my way free of charge since he couldn't fix it. He spent well over an hour accessing it and trying to find solutions. If you like having your time wasted and being berated by people who treat women like it's the 19th century, you'll love it here. I had tires delivered to have put on my vehicle from Amazon (because it was a great deal) only to have the shop tell me the size was wrong AFTER driving there in the morning to have them put on and then, on top of it, to tell UPS after I set up a return, they had no idea what they were there to pick up for me. The UPS driver gave the weight and they said, "No clue." (Ummm, four big tires you just couldn't put on yesterday because the size was wrong? Hint hint.) I didn't receive an apology when I called to find out where the tires were. Instead, I heard that the tires weren't boxed and it wasn't their job to make sure UPS knew anything and on and on and on .... and this was just from my asking, "Do you have the tires because UPS was told they weren't there." The right tires arrived, they were put on, and thank the gods, UPS actually showed up to retrieve the tires WHEN I was there having the work done, so I could say what they were there to pick up because the person behind the desk told me I would need four different slips, since they wouldn't box them up for me (and I couldn't go inside the bay where the work was done). I made sure the UPS guy had them, I pointed to the tires, or else I'm sure, it would have been the same old story again after being told they now had it straight. The manager said, "Well, lucky you were here." Yeah, lucky me. If you're into degradation and being tried like a POS, you'll love it here. There are so many different Monroe centers out there though, if being treated like a subhuman species isn't for you, keep on going down the road. read more

Ladies beware! Went in to Munro Muffler in Hudson NY for an oil change and a state inspection. My NEW car was FAILED because, as Bill, the manager, said I needed FOUR new tires straight away! Estimate: $680 for the tires PLUS labor PLUS balancing PLUS sales tax!!!! I declined and had the car inspected down the road. Long Live honest mechanics: I was told I have another 4000 miles on the tires and the car passed inspection with flying colors! As to Munro Muffler in Hudson: NEVER AGAIN! My girlfriend went in for an inspection and they failed her saying the tie rod end was no good when she just had it replaced less than a month before. They clearly tried to rip her off and we wouldn't recommend anyone go here. We filed a complaint with the DMV and it is under review. Avoid these scamsters. read more

If I can rate 0 stars I would. Absolute joke. I asked for a price quote to install a wheel bearing on my car and the dude told me 400 dollars. I had to part and everything (everywhere else said between 120-150) if you want someone to insult your intellegence and rape you with a price go here. Honestly a damn joke. Service here is amazing. Courteous, friendly, accommodating and reasonable. Come here yearly for annual service but sadly this year the office was hot and unbearable. From what I understand the ac went out the prior Sunday and the poor service techs did not know when it was to be repaired. I have an older Toyota Celica a couple of years ago the exhaust system went, pipes and muffler. The dealer didn't even want to bother with it because it was too old. Brought it to Monro Kingston NY and they did it and did a fine job. Just recently the right rear armature rusted out which was supporting the rear right wheel. Monro Kingston NY replaced that and all the McPherson struts, did a fine professional job. They seem to be able to do any job, even major ones and express a desire to do them. read more

y Girlfriend took her car there for inspection on 1/31/17, the last day before her inspection was up on her 2012 Hyundai ... it failed. They told her the breaks were bad. "Metal to metal and the rotors were gouged up" and that it would need $375 worth of parts and labor to pass... she called me and I told her to tell them to take it off the lift and for her to bring it home... the next day a mechanic friend and I went to the parts store and bought new pads and rotors... when we took the front wheels off of her car we found that what they had told her was a complete lie. The pads still had half of their thickness left and the rotors were as smooth as a baby's bottom. I returned the parts to the store and took it to another inspection station. I told them what Monroe said... the car passed inspection and the new shop told me "they were definitely trying to rip your GF off... those breaks are fine." What these dirtbags did was see a woman come in on the last day of her inspection and figured they could take advantage and pull one over on her... They owe her $21 for an inspection that she SHOULD HAVE PASSED but didn't because they lied... I wonder how many women and elderly people they do this to on a daily basis. I see several other reviews on here where they tried to do this to others! I will be contacting their corporate office, the BBB and DMV to report them. Workers were very rude and patronizing. Fixed and O2 sensor and my light came back on the same day for the same sensor. They refused to fix it and refused to refund. I will be seeing a lawyer. Don't go to this place... you will absolutely regret it. read more
