I attended a Christmas party at Dhafer's. LOVED the ambiance, the staff, the drinks and the entrees!!

My family of four dined here last night and we all loved it! We tried the toasted ravioli for an appetizer and it was good. Nothing amazing, but certainly a generous portion and served with a good marinara. The rolls were AMAZING! Similar to Pasta House rolls, but so much better...light and pillowy soft and completely delicious! My husband and son both opted for the pasta with red sauce and four cheese topping. My husband also added chicken to his. They both pretty well cleaned their plate. My husband also had a Caesar salad, which was huge and my husband said very good. My best friend had the Chicken Beurre Blanc with roasted red potatoes and green beans, which was the veggie of the day. She said it was really good and definitely get it again. I had the Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken was very moist and delicious, the mashed potatoes were great, and the green beans were fresh and crisp. My only complaint was that the Marsala sauce was pretty runny. I would prefer the sauce to have some thickness, but the flavor was still good. They seemed to only have 2 servers, and they were busy, but we were still waited on in a timely and efficient manner. The ambiance is so surprising! When you pull up outside, it just looks like a bland regular building...but when you enter, the historical beauty is just phenomenal. They've done a really great job of creating a beautiful, welcoming environment that is perfect for any occasion! We will definitely be back! read more

The food is delicious. Especially, the sauteed mushrooms. The problem is the service. We stood at the podium for roughly 5 minutes. Normally we would have walked out but the positive reviews on their food seemed worth the wait. (Which it was). But the service wasn't worth it. One server took our drink order & never returned. I saw her taking orders & serving food. (She had a uniform on). Eventually a young girl wearing extremely short, tight shorts brought us our drinks (kind of inappropriate imo). The rest of the time they pretty much ignored us. We spent about an hour there because the food took so long. I had pasta & my husband had a rare steak. It's a shame because the food is good but the service is horrendous. We won't go back. As an aside, i saw them both behind the counter numerous times chatting & laughing. Get this - They charge a $3.00 fee for credit card purchases. Who does that? Lol. So if you decide to go bring cash. Lol. I'm giving 3 stars for the food. read more

I travel A LOT, and I rely on reviews from yelp to help me decide on places to eat in whatever town I happen to be in. Most times those reviews are spot on. Not this time however. There were 3 reviews for this restaurant, and they were all 5 stars. So maybe I came on an off night, and everyone is entitled to those. First off let me say that my server, I believe her name was Christina, was fantastic. She was not overly bothersome or unattentive. She kept my water full, explained menu options, answered my questions, and did a great job of enticing me into dessert...which I rarely have. Then came the food. I ordered chicken caprese with a Caesar side salad. The salad was great, but one bite in out came my entree. So I had to let it sit while I finished my salad. The entree was a chicken breast covered in cheese and sliced cherry tomatoes served with roasted red potatoes and the vegetable of the day which was broccoli. The chicken itself was good and very moist, the potatoes kind of mushy as if sitting in a warming tray too long, and the broccoli stone cold in the middle as if frozen and not warmed long enough. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, and based off the servers suggestion, I decided to give dessert a go. Since I hadn't finished my food and still had an appetite. I got the double chocolate cake with white chocolate icing. This was a mistake. The cake was dry and bland, the icing was fairly good although a little stale from what I assume to be not being so fresh. Again, I may have just caught them on a bad night seeing as how they get such terrific reviews, but I was not impressed. Especially for the price. Meal, dessert, and tip $28. I have eaten 2 times at Donnie D's which is next door to my hotel, and gotten much better food there for much cheaper.....even though they are a bar/tavern. read more

WOAH - stop having such good food! I want to eat here every night. For my wife and me, this is our favorite date-night spot. Their menu is fantastic, and they cook everything so well, you'd think you were in any larger city in the midwest. Dhafer really does a fantastic job. He also makes it a point to come by the tables and just say "hi" as his way of checking to make sure everything was perfect. We belong to several wine clubs from Napa, so we have loads of reds and whites from CA.This restaurant allows you to bring in your own wine for dinner, and all you have to do is pay a small, $10 uncorking fee. I highly recommend any of the steaks, and if you have a chance, the Sunday lunch buffet will blow your mind! read more

Dhafer serves up great food with balanced menu in both taste and cost. Chef is the owner and positively engaged with his clientele. He very hard working and seeks please his patrons appetites. Typically find this quality of food at top tier restaurants in either Memphis or STL. The steaks are fantastic. His pasta dishes are delicious. Don't be in a hurry. Plan on spending an hour or more enjoying the food. Sunday brunch is fantastic. Nothing in 50 mile radius matches. If you like Ray's in Kelso this place will be a real win for you without spending the arm and leg Ray's cost. Great place to eat, don't miss it. read more

So surprised to find a restaurant like this in Dexter. If you are in town, this is a must stop. Have eaten here several times and the food never disappoints. The special yesterday was the lamb chops that were coked and seasoned to perfection. If you eat pork, you have to order the Pork Chop. It is easily the best pork chop I have ever had in my life. Perfectly seasoned and the reduction sauce that accompanies it is just as flavorful. Dhafer told us it would be the best pork shop and he didn't lie. After ordering, we waited over 45 minutes for our salad and another 30 minutes for our dinner rolls. Not to mention, it was another hour until we finally got our room temperature to cold food. I can honestly say this experience was not worth over 3 hours of my life. Being optimistic, we ordered cheesecake. I am not even exaggerating when I say our piece looked like it was ripped from the pie by a badger. The Dexter Queen and the Hickory Log are the places we go first when we visit Dexter. Dhafers is the next place. Food is super delicious. The wraps are unbelievable. I'm hoping they have the Beef Schwarma on the menu when we are home next. I can't remember whether it is Taziki sauce or Tahini. Help?? We had a 7:00pm reservation, did not get seated for almost 35-40 minutes, drink order was taken but no menu given then we were asked are you ready to order? Finally we were given a menu, took a few minutes and then we ordered just to find out: oh we are not serving any pasta tonight?????? Took another few minutes to choose something else, did not get food for another hour to hour and a half, just to get food we did not order but were basically told we give you what we had.
