I'm so infuriated with DHL..so I was supposed to have a package left at my front door since I wasn't home but my mom and brother were..so I thought that'll be safe..but I as wrong because the package was never delivered or left in front of my door. My mom had been sitting in the living room's sofa which is near the window and she never saw a driver pull up to leave a package...I even asked neighbors and nothing..I've come to the conclusion that the driver kept my item that I had ordered from Paris since he/she only sent a delivered receipt without a picture of where the item was left. Beware these people at DHL do open your packages to see what's in it, so now someone is glamorizing with my Hermès belt. So mad, and very much makes second think doing business wit them knowing they hire thieves and are ok with that. But how worries I'm not going to stay put DHL better pay me what the belt is worth since they don't seem to mind their staff opening the packages and keeping them when you open for them to leave your package in front door. read more

never use their online system to change your delivery date it doesn't work. they told me i could update my package delivery date on their website and the update never reflected anywhere in their systems. read more

We ship all the time with DHL. We use the fine services at Parcels Express, 12003 S. Pulaski, Alsip, IL. We have used this DHL location for years and always have outstanding service with them. We highly recommend DHL for international express packages. read more

Ok I changed my rating I got a call back from the company and the driver came back to my home. I talked with him and he said his GPS is not working well and that he needs a new one. Said sometimes issues with packages like mine from overseas. Anyway I will give them credit. package came very fast from Morocco (fossils) and it got here 2 days ahead of time. So while I do see alot with issues I need to report they were helpful and got the delivery back to me. He said he was not quite sure where he was in Urbana but we got it corrected. And they also got my current phone in process. So alls well that ends well for me. read more

This station lost my shipment. I had two pieces to be packed into one package. One piece didn't fit into DHL's package that the pick-up driver brought with him. So, he took the package unsealed assuring me that the two pieces will be packed together and nothing will be lost. But it turned out quite opposite: one piece (tube with original documents) was lost. Besides that I have very frustrating experience with Dhl's call center. I called them several days in the row and from my very first call told them what exactly was missing. On the third day instead of receiving an update on the lost shipment, the call center was again asking me a question "what is exactly missing ". I don't know how many times you have to articulate all the details before they put it in their system and stop asking the same question!!! And everytime I am being told that someone will give me a call back to update on the status, but nobody calls back. Even the complaints department, which should call back within 24 hours, is not calling back. I strongly do not recommend using DHL for shipping documents. read more

An open letter to the CEO of DHL USA: So sad I had to send this letter tonight. Sadder still that my kids did not get the package from their grandparents: Dear Mr. Parra, Hope all is well with you and you are staying warm this winter. Here in Skokie IL (a mere 14 miles from your Franklin Park IL facility) we are doing quite well. It did not snow much today and roads have been all cleared up. Which is why I am emailing you. You see we were expecting a package delivery via DHL today. It was sent all the way from Israel for my kids by their grandparents. They paid extra money to use DHL since in Israel they seem to trust DHL over FEDEX, EMS, Airmail. They seem to think that the extra money they paid was worth it since they believed the package for their grandkids would get here today. They were extremely excited this morning when they checked the DHL site and saw that the package arrived in Franklin Park, IL at 0820 am CST today. They just knew the kids would get the package. They were even more excited when they saw that the package was with a courier at 9:38 am CST. There was no doubt the driver would make the 14 mile distance to our home before the day was out. In fact they were so sure the package would arrive today that my dad asked me to leave work early and be home to accept it. So I came home. I have been home since 3:20 pm CST. I was slightly disappointed to see the package was not here yet but I figured they may have a full load. So I have been waiting for the last 4 hours. Waiting for a knock on the door. And checking your website. After all it is a great website. No need to contact customer service. None at all. Just watch your status on the website and wait. At 6:02 pm CST it said it was still with courier. And so I waited. And all of a sudden, I see the update: The shipment is being held and not expected to be moved or delivered on time due to a Force Majeure event with Weather I was very surprised. As I said, we live a mere 14 miles away from your location. I even went ahead and used the free GPS app Waze to see if there were travel issues between my home and the Franklin Park, IL location. I have included those screen shots for your reference and you can see that right now (barely 20 minutes after the note was updated in your system) it is only a 26 minute drive to my house. So I called the customer service #800-225-5345 FREE FREE. I spoke to a really nice gentleman by the name of Johnny. He was able to look at the records internally and he explained to me that the truck our package was on was backlogged. He said it was not really the weather and that the facilities have no code to update a backlog so they put in a weather excuse. I am sure you can see why that type of misleading information would upset a customer like me. So not only has the package been 14 miles from my house for the last 11 hours, but someone lied as to the reason I did not receive it. WOW - losing confidence here. As I said - Johnny was really nice. He got my cell # in case we were disconnected. He put me on hold. He talked to a supervisor. He tried to get it resent out tonight - to no avail. He also said he could not commit to a delivery tomorrow but he is trying his best to ensure it. He told me that he increased priority level on the shipment. He said he put in a request to put out and deliver tomorrow. And he said he included my cellphone so they would contact me in case of further delay. Do I believe Johnny? Sure - why not. Do I believe I will get the package tomorrow? Right now my confidence level is 0%. I believe that I will only get it tomorrow if you personally ensure that I get it tomorrow. I am also sure that my father will discuss this with DHL Israel and see what help they can provide him from over there. After all - he paid them the money and he has a relationship with them. Sadly - I will tell my parents never to use DHL again. They may be trusted in Israel but I totally understand now why the local DHL rating in IL on Yelp is only 2.5 stars out of 5. I do believe I will have to add to Yelp and lower it further. I hope I don't need to reach outside my immediate social media community as well but I will give it a try tonight since it is really important that my kids get the package that their grandparents spent so much money to send them. After waiting all day for my package and after contacting customer service twice, no package. Will probably need to be more insistent and call every hour next delivery scheduled date. Looks like another negative review to add to DHL express. read more

Pathetic pathetic pathetic,.,...pathetic is the word..their service is nothing but horrible..a COMPLETE nightmare....shud NEVER go for this service unless nd until u don't care about the package or if you are planning to take a revenge on someone...we received a package from abroad and this delivery guy left a notice first day...dint know how that happened as we were home all day...this is an apartment community so probably they dint care to buzz us and left the notice on the door ...from there onwards it was a complete mayhem...we first requested us to be called from extension downstairs and later it to be delivered to the leasing office next day..but every time status got updated online as recipient not at home..though we were home Whole day..delivery guy dint leave a door notice and even after those all requests they just wrongly updated the info online..finally after 3 days they said - unable to deliver..so I had to cut down my work hours and drive 20 miles to pick it up..only location available ..WOW !!..once there, I explained the problem to supervisor, he completely went into denial mode on operational failure ....he said those things do happen time to time..but looks like it happens all the time with this service ..change the delivery guy And your customer ethics...I talked to at least 10 of my friends who decided never to choose this DISGUSTING service..worst on this planet..never going with them again.. read more
