    First dresser

    This was my first time using Schlep and they did a fantastic job! Ricky and DJ picked up and delivered 2 larger dressers and 2 nightstands up many flights of stairs to my condo. They were so friendly and I noticed how much care they took in moving the pieces and setting them into place where I wanted them. They even helped put some risers under the bed when we noticed the height of the new nightstands were a bit higher than expected, they did not have to do that but I really appreciated it! All the furniture was expertly wrapped and padded to ensure no damage; I was concerned about this bc the new pieces have been painted but there were no nicks/scratches at all! DJ and Ricky were also punctual and efficient, taking a perfectly reasonable amount of time throughout the entire process. I also enjoyed the entire process of booking the delivery on the Schlep site - very easy to book and I also liked that I didn't have to be a middle man between them and the furniture store, they literally took care of everything! Also appreciated the text updates on the day of very much, they were on time as planned and I didn't have to spend my day waiting around. I would definitely recommend Schlep and will use them for sure in the future! 10/10

    The delivery was timely and the delivery guys were very polite; however, they ended up scratching my brand new floors pretty badly. When I sent a complaint to Schlep, they never responded for a month. When they finally did, they told me that my complaint was closed. I forwarded them pictures and they were kind enough to reopen my case. After a ton of back and forth, and Schlep asking to see multiple pictures from multiple angles, they told me that there was nothing they could do for me and that I couldn't show that the scratches were caused by Schlep. Now my brand new floors are scratched and Schlep charged me $110 for a delivery of a buffet less than 4 miles away. NOT worth it! I'm out $110 plus replacing floor boards since the scratch is so deep. And awful customer service. They kept asking for pictures from further away because they needed to see the context of where the scratch was. Then, once I sent them those photos, they said, "we can barely see the scratch" insinuating it isn't that bad. The scratch is about 5 inches wide and very deep. Really disappointed with their customer service. Don't plan on using them again! UPDATE: Schlep's response (below) again fails to acknowledge what happened. I had absolutely no problem with the delivery guys. They were extremely polite and courteous and we even had great conversation in the 5 minutes they were at my place. My issue is with the lack of professionalism and blame game by the operations/customer service team. I'm not sure what other facts Schlep operations needed. Simply put, before the Schlep delivery arrived, I didn't have a scratch on my floors. That evening, I noticed a scratch. And it was in the exact spot where the team slid over the buffet. Not sure what else these guys needed. Schlep said it didn't match their photo, but yeah, their photo was taken BEFORE the buffet was slid over. I appreciate Schlep's gesture for the discount (and I won't be using it) but more than anything, I just wanted my floors fixed. Never had this much of an issue with a delivery group over a scratch. Any other company would've been a 100x more courteous in dealing with a customer issue. Their customer service is abysmal.

    Schelp should change their name to Angels From Heaven! I found a beautiful, vintage hutch from a furniture store. The only problem is that it was huge, heavy, and delicate. Because moving it by myself wasn't an option I used Schlep. Without the help of Sam and Tywone I would've damaged the piece or ended up killing myself trying to get it up to my third floor apartment. They made sure the hutch was well wrapped and they didn't get a single scratch on it. They were very considerate, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was perfect before I left. I'll be using Schlep again and requesting both Sam and Tywone. Although part of me is sure they'd rather not have to see that hutch ever again.

    I was moving to a different unit within the same building, so just needed some "labor only" help…read moreand was recommended to Dolly. I used their online system, which I felt was convenient and straightforward, to book 2 helpers for 2 hours. I was immediately confirmed by Dolly but then also by the helpers assigned to me. They communicated to me primarily through text but on the day of the move they also called to let me know when exactly they'd arrive (which was ~30 mins later than the original scheduled time). As soon as they got to my apartment, they quickly and professionally got to work. I was helping alongside them so was able to observe how they handled my furniture and I felt it was generally with care (for example: they avoided banging into walls and doorframes). During freight elevator runs, we made polite small talk and they seemed like good guys. While it only took 1.5 hours and I booked for 2, I still paid the full $200 plus $20 each for tip. I would probably use them again if I had labor needs. Otherwise, for a full move, I'd probably go with a full-service professional moving company.

    I hired Dolly for a simple sofa delivery. The movers were late, careless, and broke two window…read morepanes in my entryway, including a historic transom pane with hand-painted numbers. No apology. No ownership. They left without looking at me saying "call Dolly they'll handle it." Dolly denied the damage claim completely, saying they only insure the items being moved, not the property their movers damage. Repairs will cost several hundred dollars, and Dolly's "resolution" was refunding the delivery fee. This is not acceptable customer service. Use at your own risk.
