First DHL refused to add the newly numbered ORIGINAL WORK OF ART exemption listing for the international delivery. I had to pay additional 10% to get it delivered. The very worse shipping company in the world! Dont waste your time or money on their false promises. I was told this morning that my package was at bwi and would be delivered by the end of the day as long as i paid the duty which i promptly did around 9 am. I waited for this package to arrive day abd didnt leave because it is very important and I did not want to miss it. Finally i contacted customer service via chat on their website only to find out that my package was in Cincinnati and certainly was not arriving today. The rep I chatted with "joe" was very rude even offensive with zero regard for customer service. This business's name sounds like they are DHL company, but they are what DHL calls a "business partner". That's not a bad thing, but don't be fooled - they fail at the one job they have, which is to deliver your package. Recently they lost a legal document of ours that needed to be delivered to another country. DHL did not have a record of having received the package from them. Nor did the other private shipping service that they hand out packages to. So it wasn't DHL who lost the parcel: they lost the parcel BEFORE it got to the third-party shipping service and to the actual DHL International. Their excuse? "It happens sometimes. I have NEVER experienced a more incompetent company. I had a pacakge that sat at DCA for two weeks for no apparent reason. Then when they the painting was to be delivered, each day was met with an "undeliverable" message and claimed it would be delivered the next day. The next day would come and the same excuse used. THe really remarkable thing is that the main office had no idea WHERE the truck supposedly delivering my painting was and had no way of contacting the driver? REALLY? in a day in age when everyone has a cellular phone and every automobile has GPS, how can this be possible????? I would NEVER use this pathetic company again.......ever! read more

Stay away from Shipping with DHL international!!! No guarantee of delivery and service over priced!!! Very unreliable and customer service does NOTHING to help resolve our shipment problem. Our Package is still held up in Cincinnati Oh after custom has cleared it. No one has provided any updates Or even try to help figure out when the shipment will move to our address. We have called customer reps multiple times and worked with them and even with the DHL president executive office and still after 3 weeks no one can tell us what is going on and when we can expect to receive our shipment. These people DO NOT care and the company really don't know what each side of operation is doing! We're still waiting to get status update and no one seems to care. Avoid DHL!!! read more

Seemed like a SCAM. I paid $209 to send a 2 pound box to my daughter in Sweden. I listed contents, and DHL employees didn't tell me that shipping naproxen wasn't allowed. Sweden returned the box. I called DHL to make sure it was at the Bethesda store before going to get it, and the woman employee told me that we could take out the naproxen and send again at no charge. When I went there, they had opened the box, were handling all the contents and then the man employee charged me $106 to send again, even though they had told me on the phone there would be no additional charge. Package from Spain sat at National Airport for two weeks while DHL said it couldn't find the address -- even after I sent them latitude and longitude as well as street address. Finally, after almost three weeks of waiting, I had to talk the driver in on a cell phone. Care-less service. The driver was great but the service was not. Ineptitude on DHL's part. read more

DHL is a terrible shipping company. I ordered a package that was supposed to be delivered on Jan 4. Tracking for that day showed the shipment was on hold with no reason stated. On Jan 5 tracking showed out for delivery but I never received it. On Jan 6 tracking showed out for delivery again but again I didn't receive the package. When I called customer service on Jan 6 I was told it should be here tomorrow. Do yourself a favor, don't use DHL. UPS and FedEx are much more reliable. read more

Three days after the scheduled delivery date, I got a call from a high school telling me that they found a DHL package with my name and number on it on the ground of their parking lot. DHL didn't even know they've lost my package. They called to confirm that I've received it and I was the one to break the news. Instead of offering any compensation, I was told that I have to contact customer service myself if I want a refund. So I did. The customer service was confused at first, because apparently on their record it was marked "delivered" on the day it was dropped in the random parking lot. DO NOT USE! There was a problem with my address (two numbers reversed in street number). They did not call or text, just took the package back to their facility. This was on a Friday afternoon -- I called and was told they don't deliver on Saturday or Sunday and I could not even pick up the package. WTF even the US postal service works on the weekend. Then come Monday they brought the package to the right address, but then would not drop it off without a signature, even though I had marked no signature on the form. When I call that afternoon I was on hold for 20 minutes and the call dropped. At 6 pm I was told the package was once again back at the facility and they could deliver on Tuesday--but could not guarantee a time AND for some reason I had to give them a different address and could not waive the signature and they could not assure me that the driver could get the package to my office before the doors locked at 5 pm on Tuesday. AND they could not assure me that the driver would text or call to let him in. It is taking the package longer to get the final 20 miles in Virginia, than it took to get from Pakistan to Virginia. I shipped a lego for my brother and a tablecloth for my mother worth 90USD to Austria. Customs held it and I was required to pay way more than it should cost at customs. On top DHL charged an additional 15Euro processing fee. Will never go with them again. read more

Really great customer service. I needed to send something back via fed-ex. I believe the clerk's name who helped me was John. After putting the box together for me, he noticed there was a potential issue with the label. He assured me that he would call either way regarding the status. Before I even got home he called to say it was processed without incident. He went above and beyond, which is nice after a long day at work! read more

Excellent service . The driver called me when he saw that I had rescheduled my package to be picked up at the delivery distribution center and said that he was nearby and he can drop it off at work for me if needed. I really appreciated that. I was able to get my package the same day all because the driver went the extra mile. Thank you DHL! read more

Terrible service. I wanted to refuse an international shipment DHL dropped at my residence. So I called Customer Service in Tempe AZ to schedule a pick-up. When the DHL pick-up arrived, he refused to accept the package without a return label from the shipper. So I called Tempe again and Customer Service said the customer always has the right to refuse a delivery so long as it was unopened. The second attempt went as the first: a refusal to accept the package. So I tried one more time, and DHL didn't even bother to come. So, the first problem as I see it is that DHL drops the package off without a doorbell ring or anything if no signature is required, so one has to accept it by default before refusing it. Secondly, DHL does not provide a receipt when they pick up a package. Finally, it is clear from this experience that their local franchisee in Springfield is poorly trained in DHL procedures.
