It's been a week and no one has called me or returned my voicemails. They just sent me a bill for $320 after insurance, but I still don't know if my toe is broken. I basically am going to be stuck paying $320 for nothing and may have to go to another doctor to see if my toe is broke because it still really hurts

I have made OUTSTANDING progress from both total hip replacements, done by my orthopedic suregon Dr Kanu Okike. With Iris guiding my healing and recovery process, she addressed the challenges I faced in order to be able to regain my mobility using 2 canes, after many years of using a walker. She has my huge thanks for being so kind and helpful, addressing all my concerns, and helping me in so many ways. Over the past 2 years, thanks to her expertise as a physical therapist, we increased my endurace for walking with 2 canes from 5 minutes to 25 minutes. I was determined to visit the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville TN, in June 2026, to celebrate all the progreess I have made to regain my mobility, and to celebrate my 79th birthday. I succeeded in all my wishes when my husband and I visited Nashville this past June. I was able to walk for 30 minutes using 2 canes. I stopped as needed, and rested holding onto the canes, but I did not sit down, as we walked from parking facilities to visit a variety of places in Nashville. Many stayed because they like the Hawaii lifestyle but they know nothing about Aloha. I will never go back there again unless I am unconscious. I don't like hospitals and get anxious when I have to go, and they were so rude to me they turned it into a full blown panic attack. I tried to leave and they physically restrained me after I said these words "You do not have permission to touch my body." They violated my space in a big way, and that is illegal. You don't have a right to hold a patient down who does not want to be touched. I was already out the door at that point. You're lucky you didn't get sued. Then when I was sitting on a bench waiting for my husband, and meditating to calm myself down, they threatened to call security and HPD to remove me. I'm thinking go ahead, maybe they will give me a ride. Then they did send a humongous security guard who told me I was trespassing on private property and had to leave right that moment. WTF? I'm a little old lady who didn't want to be manhandled either. He was my son's age and was polite and just doing the job they told him to do. I don't blame him. It was those nurses that caused the whole incident from beginning to end. None of them could seem to realize that all I was ever trying to do was leave peacefully. I was in the ER for a reason. Did they expect me to walk home? This was all kinds of wrong. Castle has gone way downhill. P.S. There were witnesses.

"Windward Side Aloha"…read more Castle Hospital, now named "Adventist Health Castle" is the Kailua/Kaneohe windward side of Oahu's, closest hospital services, without having to go over the Pali or Likelike. It's smaller that big brothers Queens, Straub or Kaiser but from what I've heard, people appreciate the service they were provided. Clean, pretty easy to maneuver, as you enter the main doors, a dedicated information desk manned by dedicated volunteers can help you get to where you need to go. But of course on a visit I focused on the dining options and I have to say the food was pretty good, just a simple scrambled eggs, rice and corned beef hash (canned) and a taste of their fried rice. All enough to satisfy a mornings craving for sure. Not spectacular, but satisfying. Service, like the rest of the hospital seems to be friendly, helpful and efficient. It shows in the way the employees interact with each other. Normally one does not specifically target to visit a hospital for their cafeteria offerings. This is not the case either. But if you are at this hospital on business and are hungry or thirsty, their cafeteria called the Bistro is definitely a resonable option.

I don't go to Kailua often so it was a bit tricky finding it. It's located in a small shopping area Kailua Beach Center where Island Snow is-tucked away at the far end. Look for the bright yellow facade of the eatery next to it. Staff was super nice and I was seen in a short time, much, much shorter than I would in town. Everyone was professional and they took my HMSA/Blue Cross insurance. I would recommend this place if you live in Kailua and need an urgent care visit.

CVS minute clinic really needs to update their info on the website. They need to say "appointments…read moreonly" and "no walk-ins accepted". Went there at 3:45pm hoping to be seen as a "walk in" as their website said there were no appointments available, but that they "were open till 6:30pm for walk ins". Started to check in, only to get to a screen that said "no more walk ins available today". LOL! There was NOBODY else there waiting to be seen. No other "walk-ins" hanging out. No "walk in" names on the screen. SMH. Definitely not providing the service that the minute clinic was stood up to provide. They really need to make it clear that appointments are required and no walk ins accepted.

So I wait patiently until one of nurses are available then I saw a name magically pop above mine on the waitlist and a few seconds later the lady pops in and the nurse takes her in... ok fine I can let that slide... it's now 10:30 and I finally talk to one of the two nurses and ask how come my wait is so long when I'm the only one on the waitlist... she said they're fully booked and it's up to me if I want to wait.. and she took someone who just arrived in. Online booking appointments DO NOT SHOW on the actual waitlist in the store and if you walk in and check in on the kiosk Good Luck.
