It has been 2 years since I first reviewed DB Dogs, and I still love them! One of my fur babies, Odie, passed away last September. My other furbaby, Mocha, was sad - they'd been together for 7 years. I started sending Mocha to daycare and that was one of the best decisions I've ever made! She learned to socialize and play with other dogs. She is so happy now and whines to leave the house when she hears Drew's car pulling into our driveway. Drew at DB Dogs is awesome! I have a pretty busy and irregular work schedule. On top of that my dog Batman was a rescue Taiwanese mountain dog so he behaves a little neurotically bc of how he was treated with the previous owner. My 4 month old Boston Terrier pup (Hans (Solo)) loved this place so much that on our drive home... he cried and whimpered the whole time!! He slept well for the next couple of days, he probably worked himself out punking the other dogs. LOL. I was worried about leaving my pup at first but after talking to Drew and watching the dogs get introduced, I felt much better. Throughout the day, I received text messages of my Hans playing with the other dogs and it was just the cutest thing. We are so happy that we found Diamond Bar Dogs! In addition that they are right down the street from us, this place is awesome. We were referred by Chris from Happy and Balanced Dog Walking, who has been walking her since early Jan of this year. We were going to the Northern California for a weekend and we wanted to find a place other than her usual Petsmart. So a couple of weekends before, we scheduled a meet-and-greet with Drew. Drew took his time with us answering all the questions we had. We took a little tour in his home where everything was clean and looked doggy-proof. The yard was spacious and nice for the dogs to run around in. We left there confident and secure. When we took Minnie the morning of our trip, we were greeted with her name written in colored chalk at the entrance with "This Way Minnie" and an arrow pointing to the door. I attached a picture. I loved that little detail. Throughout the weekend and Monday, we were updated with text pics and little videos. And we were even able to see other pictures of Minnie on their blog. The pictures, by the way, were very well taken. I really looked forward to that. At the last minute, we had car troubles and they were able to keep her almost an hour longer than originally scheduled. Drew reassured us to take care of our car troubles first and not to worry about Minnie. We also love the fact that they don't take more than 5-6 dogs at a time for boarding. I've been using Dbar Dogs to come to my house to walk our puppy for two weeks and WOW!! Due to our work schedules one of the weeks we had Drew come out 2X a day. Drew is very conscientious. Drew was great on one particular day Coco had a diarrhea accident in her crate. Drew spent the extra time to not just clean her up but clean up her crate and remove all of the dirty items. Even before this extra care he took with her and our house I thought he was great. The team has shown they very much care about their charges and the homes they visit. I can't recommend them enough they are awesome. As Coco's vaccinations get completed we will keep using them to not just come to our house but their day care. We've been pretty lucky to have awesome friends and family who have dogsat for us over the 5 yrs we've had our dog, but it was only a matter of time when we would need a reliable dog sitting service. My parents, who are caring for my dog while im on the east coast for school, were going on a 2.5 week vacation. It was a lengthy amount of time for our dog to have her first boarding experience. We set up a meeting with DBar Dogs at their facility (which is actually a cozy home). My entire family came with and brought all their questions, after all, our dog is the baby of our family. They answered all our questions and had several for us. I appreciated the time and effort they put into observing our dog, which means they do so for all their dogs. It made me feel better about my dog getting along with others while I was away. The meet was about 45 minutes long and when we dropped her off, we stuck around for almost and hour to make sure she was comfortable. We got daily text pictures of our dog's activities and communication was always open. At times I thought I was emailing them too much with instructions or questions, but they were always courteous and encouraging of open communication. They take a max of 5 dogs at a time (huge plus!!). They get a morning and evening walk, a yard to play in during the day, and sometimes a mini field trip to the dog park, hiking trail, or something locally fun. Our dog got a trip to the local park which had recently imported some snow from the mountains! The icing on the cake is the blog they update daily with pictures and a daily synopsis. It always made my day to see our dog happy, getting lots of exercise, and socializing with other dogs. Overall I can't recommend DBar Dogs enough! It sure beats housing my dog at a "center" where she would be crated and walks and play time costs extra. As a first time experience with a dog sitting service, peace of mind was at the top of my list. Now I have to beg my parents to email me pictures of my dog, DBar dogs definitely spoiled me! read more

I have hired DBar Dogs for my senior dog during my 2015 vacations. They had successfully performed everything I asked of them and even spent extra time with my special needs dog. Once there was a miscommunication but their medical technician had called to clarify something and they were correct to do so. This year my wife adopted Rascal into the family and we found ourselves wanting more for our doggie when we saw a dog walker playing with a few dogs at our local park. It turned out to be handler Carol, a worker for DBar Dogs. It's been 8 months of weekly funny photo updates of Rascal at the mtns, the shopping mall, visiting the local colleges. Rex has been essential at communicating with us for our weekly services, Minnie's field trips & photos are colorful, and there are others in the organization but I forget. We are completely satisfied with their professionalism. I have used Wag.com 3 times but it's not the same. Wag has on-call teenagers, it's like hiring people from Target (nice but not 100% sure, not full time, only 30 min walks and very limited windows of operation). I like to have the same company, same team, much more experienced adults, and I don't mind paying more for it. As a returning customer I wish they were able to reserve boarding for holidays easier. I usually don't give out negative reviews. This may be the longest review I've written, actually. But I was really confused, disappointed, and disgruntled by our email interaction and I want to give a balanced perspective to other dog owners. Seemed very promising. I was enticed by the website and the stellar Yelp reviews, but never got a chance to try out the service because I was rejected within three (3!) emails without a clearly defined reason. Here's how it went down: Email 1: At first, we set up a time to meet the next day and things seemed to be looking good. I told them I had a puppy with energy to burn. They told me they would be happy to answer my questions. Email 2: So I asked questions about planned activities. (The other doggie daycare I took my dog to has designated play hrs and if you miss them, your dog waits around in a cage until the next session which I didn't like.) But they seemed put off that I would ask what the dogs did in-between play sessions, if they were kept indoors or outdoors, if the walks advertised were held at regular times. Good question about what we dog servicers do during our days, they replied, which I thought was a bizarre interpretation. Still, they said two walks a day plus occasional hikes/dog park visits. They also brought up that owners only spend on average 35min of quality of time with their dogs and dog warehouses don't even walk. Okay. Not really related to my questions, but they still seemed very accommodating. Email 3: But then I wondered how occasional was the occasional walk or hike, because well, if my dog misses the walks, what will he be doing? They responded it varied based on business and that one client said their business was *so good* they could charge up to *three times* their current rate. (Heads up, current customers!) Then, I was advised to look for another dog provider and to do more research that would show their business in a better light. That's it. The sudden, abrupt end. It says on their website that they don't really want to spend too much time emailing/handling calls. Stupid me, I didn't realize until afterwards that that was a big red flag. But anyways, important life lesson learned. 5 star reviews don't always mean 5 star customer service. read more

They do not bother to provide their business number on the website. Not customer oriented. 2. They have put on a fake address. I was outrageous because I drove 45 mins to the "address" to realize that 3. I emailed an enquiry form with descriptions of my dog. They rejected me right away without giving any reasons. We were having to leave our precious dog for a few days and were more than a little anxious about where to lodge her. Diamond bar dogs is the ideal antidote for such anxiety. Drew is a calming presence and we knew straight away that our dog would be in good hands. When we arrived to drop her off, on their walkway they had written in chalk a welcome note for our dog! Nice touch. Throughout the weekend, we were updated with pics on their dedicated blog. The photography is excellent--better than any photos I've taken of my own dog (and I've taken hundreds). It may seem like a small thing at first, but it was very reassuring to see pics of one's dog having a good time. I love that the dogs get nice long walks and can go inside the house or in the back yard. What I really appreciate is the prompt emails and easy correspondence and in house vet. They are very knowledgeable about dog mentality. I think they can be choosy if they wanted as they only take a certain number of dogs at a time. Love the details! Sometimes it's the little things that really make a difference & that was most definitely the case with Dbar Dogs. From the welcome sign on the driveway upon arrival, to the perfectly washed & dried food containers they repacked for me, those little gestures made a huge difference in making me feel like they went out of their way to show that they care. Price...seriously...$90 for 3 days / 2 nights is quite darn fantastic! Sense of security. It's always difficult for me to be apart from my kid, but Drew sent me picture texts of him about 10 minutes after I dropped him off, letting me know how he was adjusting. That in itself is incredibly comforting. The daily updates of videos (nicely shot btw) & the almost instantaneous replies were what gave me the greatest piece of mind. Outdoor / Indoor play. My kid is used to a very free roam lifestyle, so he tends to have an extremely difficult time being boarded in crates / kennels. This was one of the only pet sitting places I found that offered him a yard as well as an indoor sleep area & daily walks! This is as close to a daily schedule as my kid would normally get, therefore giving him a sense of security & routine. As a whole package, this place just kind of hits the spot! This company, scratch that, this awesome team of Dog sitters, go beyond your expectations. I hesitant to post such a rave review because their schedule can fill up. With them it's not about quantity but rather quality. We've hired them several times now and my dogs, who we spoil, don't miss us when we're gone. Last year our home was vandalized (egged) and they washed off the 36 eggs immediately upon arrival that day which save us considerable permanent damage. We offered to pay for their time but our offer was declined. The daily emailed photos of our dogs on walks assures us that our dogs are getting "Top Dog" treatment. We recently visited Anaheim and needed puppy day care services while attending a convention. We were very nervous about leaving our 4 month old maltipoo, Paul Drake, with just anyone and definitely did not want to have him kenneled all day. Our anxiety was doubled knowing we needed this service on short notice in a town where we were unfamiliar with what was available. After thorough research, we decided on Diamond Bar Dogs for the following reasons: 1. All staff are trained and experienced including an on-staff veterinarian 2. Home setting (no kenneling) with constant supervision 3. 5 star Yelp Reviews The staff is nothing short of amazing. Despite the short notice, they were able to accomodate our needs. Their website is well designed and easy to navigate. They also have a mobile site (yay!). After filling out the contact form, I received an email within a short time to make arrangements. The communication with Rex was professional, outstanding, and friendly. We were quoted a very reasonable price and arrangments for drop off and pick up were smooth and easy. When we arrived to drop off our puppy, we were greeted by Drew. The home is large and spacious, and you can tell immediately that the safety of the animals is of utmost importance. Drew was friendly and made us feel at ease by giving us a short tour and explaining what our puppy would be doing that day. We filled out the requisite forms and Drew asked us questions about his preferences, feeding,and play needs, and did a short once over to make sure that there were no fleas, dental issues, etc. We were assured that someone would be there at all times. Drew also explained that he had consulted with Belle (veternarian on staff) and they decided due to our puppy's small size and young age that he would not be placed on grass on his park walk and would not interact with the larger dogs. We were very impressed with the consideration and thought that was put into Paul Drake's arrival. They are very serious about taking care of all aspects of the pets! He did not rush us out the door and took the time to make sure that we were reassured that Paul Drake was in capable hands. During our time away, we received multiple text updates with videos and pictures at timely intervals. We were so pleased with that extra touch. Paul Drake was having a grand time playing with the children, being taken on a walk, and sitting with Drew and Rex. Rex's photography was beautiful and he captured our little guy's personality. When we arrived to pick Paul Drake up, he was laying in his bed and while happy to see us, was very calm. This was the icing on the cake - to see a happy and calm puppy. Drew presented us with a few printed photos of Paul Drake's day. Again, another nice personal touch that was truly appreciated. Drew filled us in on details not covered in the text. We also received a follow up email the same evening with some observations and recommendations (much needed and appreciated) as well as a link to the blog entry that featured our Paul Drake with beautiful photos. We had no behavior problems or health issues post visit. Diamond Bar Dogs is truly the best in pet care! My only complaint... they are not in Las Vegas! I talked to Drew a bit and felt he really knew what he was talking about and really cared about the animals well being. Learned a few things I didn't know. Really appreciated the texted photos of the dogs being walked. When I dropped off the dogs, there were 5 other dogs there, but felt the place had more than enough room to accommodate them all. Good sized dedicated indoor room plus a good sized backyard. The dog description board for the overnighters was an especially nice touch. My dog Bailey is almost 10 years old and has never stayed with anyone but family, so I was very hesitant to leave him with someone I've never met. Being New to California, we were nervous to leave our precious boys (a Beagle and a Chihuahua) when we had to leave town.... But Dbar dogs put our minds at ease! We toured the facility and met Drew who took to our pets immediately. He was calm and very natural with the dogs. They run a dog watching business out of their home so it's very comfortable and convenient. There are normally 1-4 dogs at a time so be confident your dog will get hands on attention and a safe environment. They have a fenced in yard that the dogs can play in and they are taken on walks around the park next door all day long. They also took our Beagle to the new dog park in Diamond bar. Our Beagle is very social so when we showed up to take him home he didn't want to go! He had too much fun :) Honestly, this place is a rare find and perfect for pups that need hands on attention, like our chihuahua who is just a little shy around other dogs or just dogs that wanna have fun. First I think this business works well because the people are young; not 50-60 year olds who hoard cats/dogs. They kept me informed via text/photo during my business trip (don't need the calls). Met the vet and officer, both easy to talk to. I dropped off at 9pm and picked up 6 days later at 10pm because our flight was 6:30pm. Think it was better than a pet clinic because of it's late hours and real animal people in the field and not just "I grew up with dogs and that BS". I have never left my pup Gizmo with anyone outside of family. Something came up last minute and I had no sitter for him so, DBar Dogs was who I turned to, to look after Gizmo for a few days. I was really nervous about leaving him but my gosh... This experience completely changed that. They had a personalized welcome message made for Gizmo upon our arrival, they checked him inside and out, the place the dogs stay in is completely "doggy-proof", and you can tell the caregivers know exactly what they are doing. They are so thorough and constantly give updates via pictures/video messages that I was completely at ease having him there. I could tell Gizmo genuinely enjoyed his stay there too from all the updates I received. We had a few issues with our dropoff/pickup times too but, they were quite accommodating to that as well. It helps that they are located about a few minute away from us too, haha. In fact, he's staying with them again soon - I definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a pet sitter. Visiting the area for a long weekend wedding and enrolled our dachshund and golden retriever with Rex. Everything they do is strict but thorough, sign up forms, vaccine records, and approval required before arrival. Felt we needed to jump a few hoops but since they were highly rated we rolled with it. The facility designated room had extra large sliding door into a covered patio leading to grass. Received photos of my doggies mainly in the sun or deck above, park, walk. Getting updates became a highlight during our absence. It was a 3-day stay but we extended it to 5-days because of our joyous wedding was fun and it didn't make us feel guilty not picking up our kids. Got some pointers from Belle about our dachshund's mast so that's a plus. Rest of our party that boarded their dogs with this place extended their stays as well. It prob put a strain on Rex and his people (I think they canceled or moved other dog reservations around). A couple on the brides side couldn't get a reservation and they were the only ones that stayed with our party for the original 3 days. Everything written about this place is true. I just rec commend sending them a reservation early and stay on them. Without a place and people like these, I know our memories and trip would have been cut short. Thank you guys. read more

We have our yearly family reunion at our beach house in Newport Beach. Relatives bring their dogs and during out 12-day stay we do go back into the city for business and entertainment. We've been calling on Rex & Alisa & Drew to help us out with transportation, walks, and occasional visits. We've never been to their location but having special arrangement/needs for multiple dogs, Diamond Bar Dogs people have made exceptional accommodations to coming to our location.
