We took our 4 month rescue puppy to training with Gail and it was fantastic! Gail is so great with all the dogs; demonstrates commands multiple times with the different dogs in the group. We had 6-7 other dogs in the training with us, but it felt as though we received private training classes. She is knowledgeable and taught us how to train our puppy. Really disappointed in Diamond Dog today. We dropped off our dog for grooming today at 11:00 AM and asked what time we could pick her up. We were told call at 4:00 and we'll tell you if she's ready. I told her that the Friday traffic north on 3A is horrible so if they could finish her earlier that would be great and went out to the car while my wife discussed what services we wanted. When she came out to the car she told me, "they are going to call us when she's ready to be picked up." Fast forward to about 4:30......still no call.....so I called them and found out that our dog had been ready to be picked up for a while! When I asked why they hadn't called she said that they had discussed whether they could call us but instead told my wife to call back at 3:15. My wife SWEARS that is not true.....but that's beside the point. The point is.....was it unreasonable of us to ask them to call us when the had an idea when the dog wold be ready? If they are so busy that they can't accommodate a simple request like that then they probably won't notice that we found a new groomer. PS. The traffic at 4:30 was horrible read more

Today I had my dog groomed at Diamond Dog. I am on medication that gives me fragile skin syndrome. If my dog even scratches my arm on my leg it turns into a large hematoma. Gail has got to be the best groomer/trainer in the area. She and her staff lov. all the pets and it shows. The cuts are fabulous, (I have a wheaton terrier), and I can hear her talking to the pets as she cuts. My dog loves her and so do I. She will schedule a years visits up front if you would like. We also went to Gail for training when I got my first wheatie, and she was patient and kind. My dog ended up understanding the commands and could be counted on to obey even when off leash even in an open/public environment, (although I only allowed that when we went to the beach so he could run and have fun with the other dogs). I have recommended Gail to others and they love her almost as much as we do!! read more

Lousy experience that only got worse after we got home and got a chance to see what a lousy cut they gave both of our Golden Doodles, particularly the female who was left with bare patches near her rear end. We could go into more detail but in summary, we will never go the Diamond Dog again nor recommend them for any friends' dogs. read more

NEED TO KEEP YOUR DOG ALL DAY! Disclaimer: If there was an ability to not put a star rating, I would since I haven't used them, and they may very well do a great job. However, they want to keep your dog for the whole day 8:00 - 4:00. Okay for dogs are are used to crating, but too stressful for those who are not (like ours). There are other groomers in the area who will get your pup in-and-out within an hour, 1/2 day at max. I hope this tip is useful for folks! UPDATE AFTER THE OWNERS COMMENT: The owner's comments are not true. 1) I did not come in. 2) I wasn't calling for an appointment on any particular day... I was just getting general information to see if we were going to use this groomer. I was told they need to keep the dog for the day, and when I suggested that of the other groomers I've used, none of them keep the dog for the whole day, the lady reacted like I was nuts. read more

We have been very pleased with the service at Diamond dog grooming. Our little Yorkie, who's turning 10 years old next week, was hit by a car when he was a year old. It changed his and our life completely, we have so much to learn from him. Anyways, prolonged hospital stay and then multiple visits to the hospital and surgeries made him very nervous around new people. He growls and tries to bite anyone whom he doesn't know well. So we had to switch groomers before we were recommended Diamond Dog groomers. Everyone is super friendly and nice and Gail is so gentle with him and he has done well with them for the past 3- 4 years. The staff here are friendly and really care about the animals, and they do a great job for a reasonable price. They don't accept credit cards, which is kind of inconvenient. I switched to a closer groomer to reduce travel time and trauma to my cat, but I was always happy with Diamond. read more

Great groomer! Gail, the owner, met with me before taking our smallest family member in. She was super nice and asked good questions for how I wanted our shih tzu cut. The timeline for when the grooming would be complete was right on, which is a nice change from our previous groomer. The cut itself, a short trim, came out great! Absolutely love this place. I routinely take my Cocker Spaniel, Koda and my daughter-in-law's Boxer Max. They are always excited when they get there and come out looking great , clean ears, teeth , clipped nails and soft and clean. There is plenty of TLC for them and they are happy customers. Diamond Dog has the worst customer service!! I called to make an appointment for my cat and was put on hold not once but three times. While she started to find a day for me to come in, I was put on hold again. She came back on the phone a moment later like I just called and I told her, "it's still me trying to schedule an appointment for my cat." Instead of her scheduling me, she insisted to argue that the phones disconnected when that was totally not the case. After she asked, "what time would work for you?" I started to tell her and she exhaled like I was taking too much of her time when I was in the middle of asking how late are you open during the week? I truly don't know why people have an attitude while doing their job. Why are there so many miserable people these day? I want to have my cats trim there but I can't make an appointment? Yes, I gave up and had to hang up the phone because I didn't want to take up more of her time. Maybe have customers leave a voicemail and call us back when you have a moment? Might work out better for you instead of answering the phone and putting us on hold a few times then give us an attitude for calling. read more

I had called a few times trying to coordinate a time to bring my puppy in to be groomed. I was able to get an appointment and the day of realized I could come in earlier. I had called to make sure that was ok and was told no problem at all. I walked in a few minutes early and all the workers were in the back working on the dogs. There was no way to notify anyone I was there and I sat patiently waiting for someone to come out front. As I was sitting with my dog I heard employees in the back talking about me. I felt instantly uncomfortable and wasn't sure if I should someone alert them of my presence. One of the employees went as far to say "I obviously didn't comprehend that there we no available appointments that day." Someone finally came out front and told me to give them a call at 3 and she would let me know if he would be ready the or if she needed more time. At this point (it was around 11/1130). I have never had my puppy groomed before so I wasn't expecting to leave him that long but I was now under the impression I wouldn't pick him up until at least 3. I received a call at 2 as I was at work saying he was ready. I called back at 2:45 and said I was on my way and the earliest I could get there was 3:30. The woman on the phone said "ok well if you could get here by 3:30 that would be ok because we're closing then." Now I hadn't intended to get him until 3 at that point and I now felt like I was inconveniencing them. I got there at 3:30 and decided I would let them know about the incident when I dropped him off and how uncomfortable I felt. I suggested they put a bell on the door to alert the workers someone was inside. The girl was apologetic but offered no solution to my problem. I felt the situation should have been handled by the owner. They did a fine job grooming my dog; however, I had an uncomfortable feeling from the get go. read more

I have used this place a few times in the past and will say the dogs are well groomed. However that is where it stops. When I have inquired about making an appointment I am told it is required the dogs must be there for the day. I also at one point talked with Gail about boarding our dogs. When it came to asking to see the the facilities where they would be boarded I was told no, that she does not allow customers to her house. The dogs would need to be dropped off at the grooming facility. Another red flag. I recently called, when I politely asked whom I was speaking to I was greeted with "How can I help you" They would not identfy them selves. After moment of awkwardness I decided it was time to find another groomer. To be fair as mentioned earlier the dogs were groomed well but Gail simples does not know how to run a business. read more

Gail is an excellent groomer. I took my dog to her after having an awful experience elsewhere. She took time to talk with me about what I wanted and I didn't feel like she was going to do whatever she wanted (like the previous groomer did). I've been going to Diamond Dog for a few years and have always gotten a great cut for my dog. We have a beautiful white standard poodle and you have to know what you are doing and take your time to cut her. Whenever we take her somewhere, people always ask me who my groomer is. This place is the worst place I have ever brought my dog too. The owner is loud and down right sarcastic. They dont even accept credit cards. I brought my dog in the first time and the cut wasnt quite right. Then i figured i would try again since its so close to my house and the second time was even worse, my dog is a male and he came out with pink bows and they kept referring to him as her. And he wasnt even completely dry. His paws were filthy. Then I could here the employees yelling at the animals in the back. HORRIBLE PLACE read more

We have used Gail to groom our Golden Retriever for 12 years and each time she comes out looking great and enjoys her visits. When we get to the location, she jumps out and makes a beeline for the door. We have also used Gail to provide boarding when we go on vacation and have been extremely pleased. We have not encountered the rude individual mentioned in a prior review and have found Gail is always available to answer questions whenever they arise. Took my cats for grooming. My Persian gets matted so I have her shaved in the Spring. She is extremely sensitive about her tail, and I specifically stated that I did not want her tail shaved. I made sure that the person checking her in wrote it down, and understood that I did NOT want her tail shaved. I was told when I picked her up that they HAD to shave her tail. I have a Vet appointment next week, and the Vet would have done what was needed, AND NOT SHAVED HER TAIL. Gail blatantly disregarded my instructions about MY cat that I obviously care deeply about and KNOW far better than she what is good for her. She admitted that she chose to override my instructions. If I could give a NEGATIVE star I would give her 100 negatives. My kitty is traumatized unnecessarily because this woman thinks she is the end all and be all. She could have called me to discuss but NO she chose to go ahead and do her damage. read more
