They spent most of their years at Civic Stadium in Eugene before moving to their current location, PK Park, which is actually a University of Oregon facility for their baseball team. I remember going to games with my mom when I was young, when her workplace was doing a whiffle ball promotion with the team. And they have some fun promos nowadays too; we went to "Take Meow't to the Ballgame", where Pete the Cat was there and attendees were invited to bring their cats as well. We saw two cats... I'm not sure they were excited to be there, but I appreciate the out of the box thinking! Their official mascot is a Sasquatch, which is a fun nod to the legend in the Pacific Northwest. They also debuted an identity which they use occasionally called Monarcas de Eugene. Their Monarcas uniforms are gorgeous! I know that there was some talk about the Ems needing a stadium of their own (not as guests of the UO), which didn't pan out, and they've said they're going to move elsewhere. I'm not sure if that was the final word on relocation or if maybe they've backed off it a bit. I'd like the Ems to stay because it's good for Eugene. They do need to work on their merch, though. We went recently to the game and they one toddler shirt and a onesie, and everything else was a kid's small or larger. I wish they had more of their Monarcas identity in merch (I don't want a jersey; I want an everyday t-shirt) or the Exploding Whales (especially for kids!).

The planner and hostess were both great and communication was great for us. Also yummy food and the coffee is good too, all of which was really affordable. Would love more kids meal options! My son doesn't have any allergies but if your kids do there are still lots of options. Highly recommend!! So happy this is now in our community.

You do have to sign waivers for your kids before you play, I do believe you can sign them online if you want to save time. Adults and kids are required to have grippy socks and they have cubbies to place your shoes. Though, there were a lot of adults wearing their shoes through the area somehow.. the first play zone has tunnels and slides. Then you walk into another area with seating booths. Past that there is a dark area with water tables (fishing) and then a blacklight sandpit area. The sandpit is where my kids had a lot of fun, however there really isn't any seating to watch your kids if you need to, so prepare to get sandy too. I believe they have a private breastfeeding area around as well. The last area is very open. It has a baby area, cafe, a nice smaller play structure, and random things. One thing I will say some kids were a little wild on the push carousel, so if you have younger ones I definitely would watch that area. There are no employees that monitor any of the areas, so it is very parent driven. Ventilation is very poor. Cleanliness, pretty decent for having kids everywhere. Food: generic, but my kids ate it and my coffee was good. Came within an hour. Pro tip: bring change of socks for after because most likely you will have sand! My kids definitely didn't want to leave, so I'll be coming back.

That was super convenient. One thing that was a little annoying, and this is a real nit picky thing to bring up, but definitely something I didn't love, was the fact that we were placed at the lane all the way at the end, and there was a worker dusting the walls while we were playing. We arrived to the meeting spot around 10am and got back to the cars around 3:15pm. Reservations were easy to do online, and I received the confirmation email shortly after with details on timing, meeting location, and what to expect for the day. This was the only communication we received, so if you're someone who finds reminder emails helpful, you may not get it with OWA. We were split up between two boats with one additional solo guest. The shuttle ride was quick to Paradise campground, leaving the meeting point around 10:10am. The guides set us up with life jackets and paddles, provide us with instructions for paddling and safety, and after hopping in the boats and doing some practice strokes, we were on our way. The deli-style lunch was set up for us about 2 hours into the trip (12:30pmish). We ate at a campground with bathroom access. The lunch spread consisted of bread, deli meats, cheese, sauces/condiments, melon, veggies, chips, cookies, PB/jelly, sodas - a surprisingly vast assortment and was a treat after a few hours on the water. The entire trip was really fun. We enjoyed chatting with our guides, paddling into the rapids and enjoying the scenery. Our boat hit a rapid "just right" and two members of our raft fell out, but we moved quickly to get them back in the raft and all had a good laugh about the rapid. The only thing I wish is that OWA would offer photos (just cell phone, nothing fancy). As they carry a dry bag and phones, it would have been nice to have a photo of our group that could be emailed/texted after the trip. Or from the staff member who sets up the lunch. We all really enjoyed our day and would definitely be interested to do another trip with OWA. And as the email says, "And remember, a guide can over tip your boat, but you can't over tip your guide."

We've been to Hendricks Park, Clearwater Park, and Mt. Pisgah. There are many different themes to pick from and something for everyone. The counselors have fun camp names like Frog, Root, Tadpole, and Hoverfly. They end every week with personalized notes to each camper from the counselors, which is very sweet. The only downfall is that it is pricey. My daughter only does one week each summer. I really appreciate that they have plenty of staff and that they pay them well, but the cost will probably be prohibitive for many. They have scholarships available, but they cannot be applied to multiple weeks. Next year we will try to budget for two weeks of camp because it is such a great experience and something she looks forward to every year.
