I went in here just to look at engagement rings. The girl that helped me was so patient. I was looking for something vintage, gold, nothing too pricey. There were two rings I was going in between. One of the employees Quinn (I believe he is the owners son) recommended that we take the diamond and setting from one ring and use the vintage band I wanted. I happened to find Diamond Jim's while looking for jewelry stores on Yelp. I had not heard of or seen them before, but I wanted to check them out because they had a good rating. When I go to a jewelry store, one of two things seems to happen: either I am completely ignored or treated very rudely, or I am given over-the-top, yet condescending attention. So I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit being treated 'normal', so I decided to come back. We were here looking for an engagement ring and everyone I worked with was very helpful and pleasant. I was not finding anything I felt to be 'the ring' so it was suggested that I have one custom made, which was the perfect solution. However, I soon realized I was not really sure what I wanted. I primarily worked with Quinn and Brittany who had me provide pictures of rings I liked, detailing what it was about the ring I liked. From there, they provided me with CAD images of rings which we then were able to build upon until they helped me discover exactly what I wanted for my ring. I find it interesting that while working with them, I was able to narrow down and figure out exactly what I wanted even though I initially had no idea. With regards to choosing a diamond, they were amazing with that as well. We initially came in for a brief overview of the 4 C's of diamonds (actually inspecting with a loop different colors and clarity) to help us decide what we might want. We then provided our price range and specifications and received GIA certifications via email to review. From there, we selected the ones we wanted to look at and they had them shipped to the store for us to view and make a selection. All in all the process took about six months, but that was mainly because I was not sure what I wanted and kept requesting changes. If you know what you want, this whole process could probably get done in a month. I could not have been happier with my experience and final outcome. The store also has a nice selection of vintage pieces that seems to change frequently which I love checking out. SHOULD GET 0 RATING -DO NOT TAKE JEWELRY THERE TO BE FIXED. I HAD SEVERAL PIECES FIXED. 2 rings bands, a ring sized, a claw clasp put on a necklace, a pendant repaired, another ring band fixed and soldered closed together. Both ring bands broke, the ring that was sized the gem fell out next day after wearing it, the pendant broke where repaired, the other ring band came un-soldered and also broke. I called immediately after the ring gem fell out and the on the phone she acted like they were going to charge me again to repair their shotty work. I told her oh hell no I will never go there again if that's the case. I gave her my number for a call back and they have never been called me. This place does shit repair work and then wants to charge for them to fix again. Uh no thanks. The only thing that hasn't broke yet is the clasp but I was for someone else and I don't even know if that is still ok or not read more

I have been desperately trying to sell my engagement ring. I was assured by the girl on the phone that I could bring in my ring for a quote the next day. I drive a long distance to Jim's next day to find out the guy who deals with quotes isn't working until tomorrow. Out of desperation on my end, the girl offers to give me a quote and I accept, unknowingly she would scratch my ring on a stone. Then insults me by saying she would give me $73 flat because she does not know the specific weight of the diamonds/ or if they're real, EVEN THOUGH the insurance certificate with all the specs listed was right in front of her. I had the certificate, what was the point in scratching it??? Poor customer service overall. I introduce myself, giving the man and girl my name and they could not give me their names in return. My Daughter bought a heart shaped necklace there, with my 3 Daughters stones on it, and they have put, 10 stones, for our Grandchildren, and 4 stones, for our Great Grandchildren on it. She "out grew" her pair and I returned this month to sell or up- trade them, for bigger hoops; it hasn't been a year and the owner offered me $5! Which I found insulting, after I paid $55 for them. They really showed me their true colors when the day before my wedding I had them tighten my antique Hamilton watch, and clean my husbands ring as well as my early 1900s vintage very delicate engagement ring. They noticed a Stone was missing it was small and I somehow had not realized !!! They called me, I was so stressed and didn't want my husband to have a freak out like I was! My fiance and I stopped into Diamond Jim's to look for engagement rings on a whim, as they are one of the few jewelers open on Sundays. After a not-so great meeting with another jeweler the day before that had left us feeling deflated, we entered Diamond Jim's and met Quinn Verniers. Quinn was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and bonus: he has a love for vintage inspired jewelry. He appraised my fiance's diamond and we discussed our vision for an art deco setting. We had known that what we had in mind wouldn't be available for purchase, and would likely need to be custom designed, yet Quinn suggested we look at his inventory to find a setting that has some of the characteristics we were looking for. And boy, did we ever find the perfect band! The engraving was exactly what we wanted and he suggested his designer could cut out the existing head and redesign it for our diamond, aligning with our inspiration photo. The ring was finished on the early end of Quinn's estimated timeline and the price was very reasonable for the work. The final product absolutely took my breath away. read more

I'm really happy with Diamond Jim's. I had an antique platinum setting that was missing the center stone. It was my grandmother's ring and I wanted to add a sapphire to it. When I took it to Minors Den wanted over $300 just to add a gem to it. That wasn't counting the price of the sapphire. I was heartbroken at that price just for the service I didn't think I would be able to fix it. I took it to Diamond Jim's and I am so glad I did. The service was great. They charged me 1/3 what the other store wanted, and less for the sapphire in addition. In addition to great prices Diamond Jim's got it done in less time than another store took to do a minor repair to another ring. The ring looks just how I wanted it to. I'm so happy I shopped around and ended up at Diamond Jim's. While in the store I looked around and saw some lovely pieces there too. I have always gone to Diamond Jim's for minor jewelry repairs over the last 10 years. I even had an old ring made into a new ring and a pair of earrings last year that were perfect. In January my now husband and I were searching for just the right engagement / wedding ring set. We started at Diamond Jim's but wanted to shop around a bit. Quinn was very helpful and offered to validate any purchase we made elsewhere to ensure our diamond purchase was certified and from a reputable company. We ended up back at Diamond Jim's and found the set we wanted. Quinn talked with us and asked what type of center stone we were interested in. a week later he had 3 different stones all of excellent quality. We picked the stone and ordered the ring. It was ready in 2 weeks and he even did a GIA certification for our insurance records. I will continue to do business with Diamond Jim's for all of my jewelry needs. I recently visited to get my battery replaced in my watch. In the process of replacing the battery the glass on the face was shattered. They sent out the watch to fix the glass and charged me the cost of the batter (after they technically broke my watch). I was told it would take less than a week. Exactly one week later I called and was told the watch was not ready. I asked to speak to the manager. He said well it takes more than week, I said well then why did your employee tell me less than a week? I wouldn't have f/u if you had said more than a week. He goes on to say "well it's not like flipping a burger". Not once did I raise my voice or come off rude. Yet he had the audacity to make a snarky comment to me. In addition, he said they did not break my watch they were "replacing" the glass. I'm sorry but the glass had to be replaced because you shattered it in the process of replacing a battery. Very disappointed in the customer service I received at Diamond Jim. The staff was okay but for a manager to come on the phone and make a rude comment is outlandish. read more
