I first experience her as a customer years ago, and I'm so thrilled to see that she's been going strong. I recently came from an appointment and she is as good as ever. She's since made some updates to the place: it's more modern and there are only two chairs in total. The doors remain perpetually locked until she lets someone in. Brilliant safety move. There is also a small bench for folks who are waiting their turn, but it's a tight space overall. Threading is now $7, which is still substantially more than less aesthetically pleasing spots down the road, but HIra is charming and still does a good job with her sharp corners, precise trimming, and does a good job with maintaining edges, shape-ups, and balanced brows. There is a small bathroom in the back, as well as a private room for additional procedures. Ventilation is a bit on the stale side, but one won't have to wait too long as she churns through folks quickly and efficiently. Credit card is accepted, but like any quality place in NYC, cash is preferred. Do this and collect one of her loyalty cards for a future local's discount.

The manicure was done carefully, but quickly, and it lasted me the entire week (which never happens). I came in a few minutes early for my Friday appointment and when I came in was told that there was someone ahead of me (not started) and I reminded them I had an appointment. One of the techs reluctantly started a pedicure soak for me and told the young lady that was a walk in they could not attend to her. From when I was seated, to when the nail technician finished with another client and started on me was 25 minutes WITH AN APPOINTMENT. They had one nail tech working that day and several eyebrow and facial technicians that just sat there. I was not even offered a water or anything for the inconvenience. The technician was nice, and definitely just doing her job, so I don't blame her, but she was incredibly quick and made no effort to engage with me. She clearly wanted to get home and zoomed off immediately after she finished the last coat. The manicure looks good, so I think her work was done well. Its not the employees fault, but this salon is poorly run. They are understaffed and do not cater to clients. They were not accommodating or honest about the timing of my appointment. they made very little effort to rectify their mistake of missing my appointment, or give me a chance to leave/tell me they simply couldn't honor my appointment. I appreciate honestly and consideration and the complete waste of time was not appreciated.
