The service is so bad it makes me rethink not wanting to go. The waitress looked like she had just rolled out of bed and was no where to be found. The lady at the door was absolutely wonderful tho. She was more attentive then the waitress.

So we have it a shot. When we pulled into the parking lot my wife and I both thought we came to the wrong place. We say the older hotel and a Mexican restaurant but didn't immediately see the steakhouse. Once we walked inside we found a quaint older style steakhouse. It reminded me of when I was a kid and I liked the ambience. It's romantically lit and not a lot of tables. Our waitress was awesome and even showed us a list of wines by the bottle that they had marked down. We settled in with a nice bottle of Pinot Noir. I ordered the Bourbon Ribeye and my wife ordered the regular Ribeye. Our dinner salads came out and I was impressed. Not overdone but tasty and the ranch dressing didn't taste like it came out of a bottle. The grille is inside the dining room and the smells were really getting us excited. The steaks (and loaded potatoes) came out fairly quickly. WOW!!! Mine came with a side of bourbon to dip it in. The steak was was cooked very well and had a lot of taste. Dipping it in bourbon really made it better. I almost licked my plate clean. We decided to split the chocolate mouse cake. Really good and especially with the vanilla ice cream on top. I was impressed with the entire dinner. Too bad we live 500 miles away.

PROS + beautiful, well-maintained golf course/grounds within view of the dining room + outdoor dining is also available + super friendly, efficient bartender (she's been there every single Wednesday I come in during 2023) + decent food... comes out hot and fresh! + moderately priced + many key places are within the vicinity (see my list below) + pro shop is next door + casual dress code is okay CONS I feel like the dining area could use a makeover. Also, the last visit to the women's restroom there was no soap in the dispenser (4/26/2023). I mentioned that several key campuses and sights were nearby. Here's my short list in alphabetical order: + CORE (Center of Recreational Excellence) + Hobbs Veterans Memorial + Lovington Highway Health Walk (concrete walking path parallel to Highway 18) + McAdams Park + New Mexico Junior College + University of the Southwest + Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame + Zia Park Casino Hotel & Racetrack

At first I thought it was whipped cream as you can tell by the picture. As my appetizer I chose the jalapeño soup. I have to say that it was amazing even if it had no real substance to it other than cream of something and jalapeños. I think potatoes would be a nice addition to this soup. For dinner I chose the 8oz filet and I added blue cheese crumbles to the top slightly melted. The steak was cooked perfect and the flavor was nice. The veggies along with it were cooked well with minimal butter which I prefer. My waitress was perfect. She came around just enough and not to much. Nothing bothers me more than to come around so much that I can't enjoy my food. I'm a happy medium kind of guy when it comes to that and she did a great job balancing her other customers and I. Over all my experience was wonderful. I will definitely be dining her again before I leave town.

Usually these are really refreshing but the pineapple made it really sweet. Order the hot and sour soup. Had great flavor with the little amount of spiciness and sourness but was not very warm. Calamari with the perfect amount of breading, cooked perfectly and not chewy. Great with the marinara dipping sauce. Spicy tuna roll was very good, very fresh with the right amount of kick. Green chili roll. I personally did not try it, I do not like cream cheese in my sushi roll but others at the table loved it. They stated this is the best roll on the menu ......... if you like cream cheese in your rolls. I ordered the panzit with chicken, it was very salty. If it had less salt I think this dish would have been very good. The noodles and chicken cooked perfectly. Sizzling beef & Shrimp - the beef and shrimp was cooked well but the house brown sauce had a very weird flavor. Hobbs is our hometown but we have lived in California and Las Vegas for a long time and this restaurant did not meet our expectations of Asian food.
