My husband lives just down the street for the Yucca Lounge and we were going to go there to buy a six-pack at the liquor store but decided to go in the bar for a drink. They have a little patio where a DJ was warming up (it was a Friday night). It's my understanding that this place get real busy on weekends. It was still early, we had a couple of drinks and really enjoyed the place. One thing of note that I've NEVER seen in any other little local bar - this place was immaculate! Spotless! Even the bathrooms were really, really clean. I told the owner I really appreciated his efforts to have a clean bar and that his establishment was a first. He seemed to really like that I'd noticed.

We experienced a bad service. Place was dirty with lots of annoying flies. Server couldn't speak up in a loud and noisy venue. She brought 1 plate when there were 2 people, and we had to ask for more. She also brought us dirty dinner napkins. Flies landed on our food, that was game over for us, we had to leave. Food taste was ok but nothing to rave about.

So we have it a shot. When we pulled into the parking lot my wife and I both thought we came to the wrong place. We say the older hotel and a Mexican restaurant but didn't immediately see the steakhouse. Once we walked inside we found a quaint older style steakhouse. It reminded me of when I was a kid and I liked the ambience. It's romantically lit and not a lot of tables. Our waitress was awesome and even showed us a list of wines by the bottle that they had marked down. We settled in with a nice bottle of Pinot Noir. I ordered the Bourbon Ribeye and my wife ordered the regular Ribeye. Our dinner salads came out and I was impressed. Not overdone but tasty and the ranch dressing didn't taste like it came out of a bottle. The grille is inside the dining room and the smells were really getting us excited. The steaks (and loaded potatoes) came out fairly quickly. WOW!!! Mine came with a side of bourbon to dip it in. The steak was was cooked very well and had a lot of taste.
