I didn't care for this place, but I at least get the appeal of it, at the same time…read more It's an old hotel and there is plenty of charm here, but at the same time, it just feels old, and that you're paying for the popular and historic oldness. I was put out that we tried to get a room on the spot, but that the owner put on an annoying act like she wasn't sure if any of the 20 or so rooms were available, and that she had to check the computer, even though it ended up that maybe only 2 or 3 of the rooms were booked that night, including us! Come on! Our room was the cheapest type, with a shared bathroom, and it was a very small room. The historic charm included an old, very springy, mattress and some very old and dirty wallpaper of several excavated layers, and an awkward and low sink in the room that just served to get in our way. It felt dilapidated and cheap. Also, the Dish TV didn't work, either, and I was too tired to bug the owner to get it working. The room felt insecure, with an inadequate lock that barely latched, and any noise from the hallways carried easily into the room. There's a book store in the hotel and an antique store next door, if you're into the whole old thing. I didn't make it to the antiques, but the book store was pretty nice. Not everything old is good, I say. You might say otherwise, and I hope that your stay is nicer.

The room we stayed in actually had two separate rooms (each with its own sink), which is convenient. The bathroom had a toilet, shower, and a tin ceiling. Those are the types of touches we appreciate. It was super quiet the night we were there. Also, a mini fridge and microwave, coffee maker. We would definitely stay here again.

This establishment from the outside looks like the typical roadside place. The rooms are very common in size and layout to anything else built 30+ years ago. The difference is that the service is friendly, very professional and are actual hospitality professional. The lobby is well furnished and nicely decorated. The furniture is actually comfortable to use. There is a little office center in the lobby that has a computer and printer that is set up so everyone isn't walking behind you. The pool area is clean and looks nice. There is no work out room but you can check out a key to a 24hr fitness place for free. That is something I've never heard of before. The room was very clean and the bedding actually felt good on the two queens in our room. The beds themselves were comfortable. The room had a large tv and all the bath supplies you need. The shower head actually put out a good flow and all its functions worked well. The room is for sleeping and it fits that job very well. The room and hotel are also quiet. The breakfast provided is actually good and has a large selection of foods including a hots. I would definitely stay here again without any question.

Sandra was at the front desk when I checked in and was very professional and friendly. The breakfast provided was probably one of the best I have ever had at any hotel. Of course they had all the stuff any hotel has. Fruit, cereals, breads, yogurt, milk, coffee, juice and water but they also had a scrumptious egg , potato and cheese casserole along with cut up kielbasa that went perfectly with the breakfast casserole. Wish I had gotten a picture I even saw Sandra in the morning who wished me safe driving as I headed home

Tldr: Go here if you value good breakfast and good WiFi over cushy comfort…read more This is a nice enough hotel, but it's definitely meant for the single traveler. My husband and I came here, thinking it was a local hotel and not a chain, but it is a chain(albeit a dispersed one), specifically meant for railroad/construction employees (This website explains that: https://lodgingenterprises.com). The hotel rooms had a full kitchenette: full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a two-burner little induction stove top. There was a pot and a pan, a single bowl, a single plate, a single set of silverware (fork, knife, spoon), and a single coffee cup. The bed was set up for one person (two pillow, stacked on top of each other in the middle of the bed, and there were only two bath towels ( the THINNEST towels I've ever experienced in a hotel, but adequate). That being said, it was nice enough. The breakfast was made-to-order (You get vouchers for two eggs, any style, hash browns, choice of sausage, bacon or ham, and choice of toast or pancake, plus coffee or tea). It's definitely better than your average hotel breakfast. And the WiFi was free, and reliable--we watched the latest Game Of Thrones on our laptop, and it didn't buffer at all. The blackout curtains were the best blackout curtains I've ever had in a hotel room, too. The bathtub was deeper than average, which made for a nice soak after a week of camping. The mattress was firm but not uncomfortable (and I have a back injury, so I'm particularly sensitive to that). They do have a AAA rate, but be sure to ask for it at the beginning, or they'll have to redo your reservation completely :) All in all, this hotel was serviceable, but not the local gem we were expecting after reading the existing Yelp reviews.

Little different that you check in at the diner next store. Breakfast is also in the diner. You get coupons that you pick three breakfast items from. Very cool and better than the usual waffle machine and fruit loops like other chain hotels. Just be prepared that drinks are not free and you must tip. The diner is very cute 50s style. The hotel was modern with high end fixtures and furniture. Just strange arrangement- things like light switch placement and super high hand towel holder. Like they bought all the best stuff, but then just hired someone to put it in- not a designer. But no points off here. Very pleasant night sleep.
