When we first moved to Hemet I was so excited that there was a lake down the way. The largest man made lake in Cali. We found the blue prints of the original plans at the Hemet Library in the historical section. They lied so many different ways from Sunday to get these plans approved, but... they were. The Cafe that was supposed to be there isn't along with a few more amenities. This was a quarry that turned into a lake that was supposed to attract so many new fishing tourists and utterly failed. To start with it is only open Wednesdays through Sundays. The marina and lake access are typically open from 5:45 am to 4:15 pm, though hours can vary, with last entry at 3:15 pm. The lake is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The boat rentals are outrageous and coming back so early is horrible. The only thing I've ever caught here are dead birds stuck floating due to fishing line never being removed from the trees above water. I have seen fish here. None of them look healthy except the trout they have shipped in trout stocking season that typically runs from November to April. You have to pay to park, you have to pay to fish, you have to pay to walk, you have to pay, pay, pay. This is outrageous. Now you have hired people sitting in lawn chairs with umbrellas making sure you aren't walking the trail for free? #epicfail. I tried to walk down to the boat launch today to see where the water level was because I'd considered trying to come back again... I was stopped. I was told that because I didn't pay that I am not longer able to walk down to the docks for liability reasons. Are you serious? So if I paid $4 to walk the trail, or the $9 to fish then I would no longer be in danger? I am over you. It's only 45 minutes to two separate lakes that are much better. Have a good day. I was searching for a place to see the wildflowers near Temecula, and DVM in Hemet popped up. Complete with a 22.7-mile wildflower trail that winds around the lake, this is the perfect place to see the 2023 superblooms. The marina is open Wed-Sun, 6am-6pm; I suggest going as early as possible to beat the heat as there is no shade. There is an $11 parking fee and a $4 trail fee. Once you park, head to the mobile trailer office and pay your fees. They also offer up snacks and drinks there if you need some refreshments for the trek. If you want to cycle the trail, there are e-bikes for rent. Restrooms are available near the office, too. Once you head out to see the flowers, be prepared to encounter lots of gnats; if they "bug" you too much, bring a face mask or other kind of covering while you're out there. I saw lots of California poppies as well as other lovely wildflowers and highly recommend this spot if you're in this part of Southern California. read more

There are electric bikes for rent at the marina, so we thought to bring our own e-bikes there to go on the 22.7 mile ride. Big mistake, it was a rough 3 hour ride around the lake because the path is mostly rough with lots if rocks, and just a bit of the 22.7 miles being a paved road. It would be such a beautiful area to ride, but never again, unless the path gets graded, like the website says. read more

Beautiful place but wow the line to enter gets VERY long when it's spring and the flowers are booming. I suggest coming on a weekday morning if you can. If you come on the weekend, still come early. They also close the gates to the park an hour or two before sunset, depending on how busy it is. read more

Great place for all around hiking, biking, & fishing. The Marina stop is the first place to stop at as they are very helpful with anything you need. You can get fishing info, rent e-bikes to ride the trail or go hiking. The trail goes all around the lake and is a bit over 21 miles. The trail is very mixed with lots of rocky and soft dirt areas with short up down climbs that an ebike can handle as long as you have a strong motor 500 watts plus. My ebike is only 350 watts and I peddled quite a bit and barely made it. It is a great scenic ride especially over the 3 paved dams but for a senior like me it was a bit rough. So for those looking for some dirt and paved long rides this is a must. Just check in with the people at the Marina as they are Super friendly and helpful. So a 5 star for overall ! read more

Beautiful spot with boat launch and hiking. But too expensive. We ventured here during our trip to Temecula. It's not that far away from the vineyards and feels like an oasis in the desert. The lake is huge and can accommodate anything from kayaks to full-on speed boats. There's also a 21 mile trail around the full span of the lake. The only downside is that it's owned privately. So they charge a lot - $11 for parking and $4 per person for hiking trail. To put this into context, most California state parks charge about $6-15 while most national parks charge just $30 for a whole week pass. So, while we were looking forward to their wild flowers trail, we decided the charges were just a little to much for us to accept. read more

Ridiculous waiting time! They set up a gate to collect payment and the process was extremely slow. Why don't you let people come in and park first and then buy tickets from your office. People waiting line was there from 10 AM to 5 PM last Sunday. It is ridiculous! Response to the owner: You have the solution! Let people in and park their cars first and they will go to your office to buy parking tickets! You created this trouble to people by setting up a gate to collect money first! Do not understand why you do this way to create such a long waiting line! are you not confident that people will pay you after they park their cars? I think you should be confident!!! read more

Very rude when you call to reserve a boat, the boats are already expensive for sub-par condition, twice that I've called to rent a boat they act as though you are an annoyance to them and once the young girl even hung up! I didn't know what exactly to expect, but I loved going here to see all the wildflowers blooming. Yes, there were a lot of people ( I even went on a weekday, so I can't imagine the weekends) and people taking photos, but I expected that. I was pleasantly surprised and didn't know this existed (where have I been? lol). The hiking trail (wildflower trail) was kind of steep in parts, but worth it for the views. I would wear comfortable shoes and stay on the paths like the signs say. Parking was $11 and to walk the wildflower trail was $4 (2023 prices). If you like hiking and looking at wildflowers I think you will enjoy it. No pets allowed. read more

It doesn't take much effort to hose down a boat. Their rentals were very dirty complete with spiders, eggs, and webs. The young kid who works at the Marina were hinting that a guy just tipped him $20. Really? Who tips when you just opened up and we were the first customer on here. Here is a Place good For Hiking and it does have a Flower Trail also . The first thing you will notice is The Long wait to drive in to the Parking Lot also you have to Pay 9 Dollars for Parking and One Dollar per person to walk the Flower Trail . It's a Fairly Long hike !! If you like looking at Flowers there is not much to see here . But it does rent boats and Fishing Rods so you can go Fishing . But overall experience is ok . Algae bloom has plagued this reservoir since December if not longer. Tough fishery to figure out, and on top of that boat use is expensive. Almost 50 dollars for park/launch/2 permits/boat tag. Fishing is tough here gonna take a couple trips to figure out the bite. I'd recommend perris over this reservoir tbh read more

Please repair and fix the docks (cleats & bumbers,the deck) and upgrade/ clean the floating restrooms. Beautiful lake and well maintained boat ramp. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy it as planned. We spent days calling the marina, the water district, and double checking all the vessel requirements as we knew that DVL is very strict to maintain water quality. Got everything ready on one of our few days off and made the two hour drive to the lake. We were told we could not put our sailboat on the lake by the older gentleman doing inspections as it had a swing keel. He insisted that the website explains this yet could not find a reference to keel limitations. Called the water district to confirm and they had no rules pertaining to keels. Plenty of swing keel sailboats at the lake small dry storage. We left disappointed and confused. It looks beautiful there, wish we could have been on the water. read more

As a local resident, we visit the Sports Park nx door weekly. Thought it would be super fun to bring my 3 lil kids to eat their donuts on the bench by the lake for 10 mins before my sons class started at the park.... until the employee lady told me it was $10 to park my car and $3 per person!! I said just to sit for a couple minutes?! She said yup! I said even for a baby and little kids??? She yup! $22 to sit for 10 mins WOW. Her attitude was a total biotch to say the least. It's really over priced to fish shoreline there. If you rent / own a boat.. I'm sure it might be worth it. 10 dollars to park, 7 dollars an adult to fish, 5 for kids and 3 dollars a person to use the hiking trail ( even though I didn't hike on the trail, so they just charged me that because I was fishing on the shore) The kids at the register weren't too informative and there was no maps or pamphlet about the lake. My boyfriend and I were excited to come here to fish with a half day premium bass boat rental. Once we got there, the girls inside were nice checking us in and getting us all set up. Once we went down to the rental, the boat was not cleaned inside at all. Their was a pile of debris, hooks and dirt on the carpet like it was meant to be swept/vacuumed up but it never was. There was a giant bird crap on the backside of one of the chairs. They are not cleaned every time they are returned because that was a decent pile of debris that had been built up. The floating bathrooms on the lake we absolutely unusable and filthy. To the point to where feces and trash was higher than the toilet seat lid! They have not been cleaned in a long time. There was also feces all over the ground and some sort of liquid coming from the bottom of the toilet that was leaking out onto the floor of the entire bathroom. Its probably a good thing you're not allowed to swim in this lake because who knows how much of this literal crap is leaking out into it. Again, all staff was great but the lack of cleanliness will probably deter us from coming back. read more

My son and I park at the bottom of the hill and than we run up the road to the marina, and walk around the beautiful lake. It's a really great run that has lovely views of the valley. We usually don't run into anyone, it's mostly pretty peaceful. The trails here are also really great, my kids have been hiking them since they were toddlers. Well let me say We had a blast today. First time here and the experience was a five Star. Got there around 6:30 on 8/10 walked in and waited there was a good amount of people but let me just say they had Robert, Tammy & Jennie at front desk and all of them were on point. Had the line moving & were very friendly. That's a plus when it's your first time and you have a bunch of questions. Got us going on our way rented a Pontoon Deluxe for 1/2 Day between 7 of us it was not bad. Charles & Guy were at the Boat and gave us instructions again Friendly. Definitely do this again. Diamond valley lake is an a great place I've been going about 7 years now and all the people are great. The staff are awesome people who have always made me feel very welcomed. I went on the shore just Thursday landed a nice largemouth. I brought my army vet father in law. He has a very bad leg from active duty. Justin saw us with all are gear and offered us a ride to the east dam shoreline. Awesome staff right, then he came back and checked on us and gave us a ride back. Justin is awesome. This isn't always the case but either way great staff and fishing ride or walk. Also the store staff is always very kind and professional. Sarah is great also helping me with are fishing license for the year.getting us are bait and passes and on the water like a pro all with a smile on her face. It's a marina. They have boats to rent and fishing gear to sell I guess I'm playing them down because the last five times I've been on the lake I haven't caught a thing. Seems like new staff, because there's a wait for everything and most questions get fuzzy answers. Maybe it will work itself out. I'm still trying to get a straight answer on what is biting and where. I'm especially disappointed today. I bought some worms and we were half way across the lake when we realized they were all practically dead. I brought them back for an exchange and found that almost the entire fridge was a graveyard of worms. Come on guys, is this really too much to ask???? I walk the Northeast trail, usually about 1.5 miles in and then back out. Twice now, I have been locked in more than an hour before posted closing time. When I called the emergency number from the sign at the start of the trail, the person told me the trail was run by the Marina, not the park. By the way, the number I called WAS the EMG number for the Marina! I asked why they closed the gate so early, and he said they close depending when the marina closes, which can vary. I asked him how can a person, following the posted time, be sure they won't get locked in, and he had no good answer. I have been locked in like this once before, and had to dig my way out under the gate. I'm 68 yrs old. If someone like me gets locked in and can't get out, they could end up in bad shape, depending on their situation. This place is terribly irresponsible, risking peoples well-being, if not their lives, by ignoring the POSTED closing time. Who knows how many people may be on the trail when they randomly decide to lock the gate early! I called the Marina today just to let them know I was on the trail (about 5pm, sundown being about 8pm) just to make sure they weren't going to lock me in again, the girl I spoke with told me the Marina didn't operate the trail, but the last time I called them, they told me it did. Obviously they need to get it together before someone ends up getting hurt or worse. When I was leaving the trail, two women and two young girls were just starting in, and I warned them about possibly getting locked in. When I drove out on the Dominegoni parkway, I saw them about 1/2 mile along, still heading further in. I hope they didn't get locked in. read more

One of the cleanest parks in Hemet, by far one of the best places to take your kids. Playground not that big but it is safe. Great for soccer, football, exercises and parties, there's a huge grass area. read more

I took my wife and two kids here on Sunday Feb. 16, 2020 to go fishing with our new boat. Had a great day, even though we didn't catch nothing (but I have caught a lot of big bass in the past). Anyhow, like a bozo I forgot all of the fishing poles on the dock, 5 total. My daughter, son and wife's fishing pole along with mine. The honest workers at the dock Dee Hailey and Natalia brought them to the store. They saved me big time and I had to personally thank them. Don't rent a boat there. The lake is great but the rental boats are junk. In the last six weeks have rented pontoon fishing boat. First time steering linkage came loose had to crawl onto back of boat and tie together with bunjy cord I had in my tackle box. The next rental same kind of pontoon fishing boat, before we left dock noticed back of boat low dock hand said oh yea it has a leak we have to drain it. The steering column and whole top of control area kept coming loose and the flashing around the front of the boat was loose. For what they charge they should put some effort in to maintaining the boats. Their boats are not only in bad shape but unsafe read more
