Eric stopped by my home the same day I initially called and my instincts told me he was gonna be good. Even so, I still had doubts because like others, we've been burned before. Eric installed a driveway for us in a hurry because our cars were getting broken into or attempted being stolen or sometimes windows just being smashed at least once a week. Start to finish I want to say it was a week. He is an expert who will get the job done with a high degree of professionalism. Wish he did more than concrete but am grateful he's good at what he does. I would hire him again in a heart beat and highly recommend him. Please note: I am writing this review because it's so important to help others navigate the sometimes overwhelming number of choices out there. For me, being forced by the high probability of an imminent attack on our property, I definitely relied on the reviews of others to make a rapid fire decision. I feel really fortunate others shared their experiences so thank you all out there who are sharing your honest opinions, good and bad. I hope this review helps someone else.

Work on the driveway from first project.

This is the third time, that we have had Eric and his crew come do cement work at our home, in Oakland. First time, he did our driveway and back patio and pathway. Second time, about 3 months later, he came back to put in a walkway between the garden and front of house, to prevent water from running into the foundation. This time, he's re-building a 60' retaining wall for us, by removing the existing cinder block, digging out a huge trench to properly frame it out, and then poured the concrete today. He always shows up on time, cleans up every day, and does a great job. We are very happy with his work, and have recommended him to everyone who is looking for concrete work. He's the guy, if you need to have your Oakland sidewalks fixed. We were fortunate to have him come pour this for us, before the rains return. We will have one or two more projects for him, but they'll have to wait for drier weather.

Eric and his team came to save the day! We had entrusted our initial concrete work with an unlicensed handyman who assured us he could deliver the patio desired- learned our lesson the hard way when he left us with: an uneven slab (2 inches in some places, 4 inches in others); didn't smooth or color the top layer before it dried so added thinset mortar with mixed in color in 1 cm layers which instantly chipped the next day; "fixed" it by sanding down to aggregate layer leaving us with a less than aesthetically pleasing, unleveled mess... Eric at Diamond's Concrete, a licensed business that specializes in concrete, provided a fair quote to demo the existing slab, find a solution for our short/ raised arbor posts (see photos of smooth/ sleek square shaped concrete forms), layout rebar and frame our 11x20ft patio, bring in a cement truck to mix/pour integral colored concrete, and stamp with brickform Grand Ashlar Slate Stamps w/ medium gray release powder (see my photos attached). He estimated a 4 day turnaround. The last guy had also estimated 4 days, but it dragged into 1.5 months so despite my fears, Eric delivered everything he committed to do! In less than 2 days they busted out the demo, laid out tarps and kept our pavers/ walkway and grass clean, picked up and hauled out all trash, and poured the arbor post forms. They framed everything in less than a day, and then poured/ smoothed and stamped the patio in less than another day. Eric gave solid advice on how to border the patio and lay the compression lines. I definitely suggest coming prepared with the design elements you'd like (concrete color, stamps, release powder, lines, etc) you'd like as this isn't something they'll consult on- they get the job done very well, but are not designers. Eric gave me the name of a store that rents the brickform stamps and I selected everything/ paid separately for it, and he picked it all up, which was a nice process as it broke out the costs involved. I also paid separately for the cement truck (our yard is not easily accessible by wheelbarrow) and the Davis integral color. Very happy with the end results. We will be adding a sealant shortly and start enjoying our new patio this spring/summer!

Eric and his team did a great job on our driveway and garage floor, and he was able to work with our budget. Our new driveway is a major improvement, he also widened the driveway opening and graded the driveway so that it is easy to pull into and our vehicles do not scrape. I would highly recommend Eric and Diamond's Concrete Construction for any concrete projects you might have.

I submitted a request for bids on Yelp and Aldo properly responded. While I was waiting to gather more contact s for bids Aldo reached out to me after 2 to 3 days to see if I was still interested, so I could tell that he had follow through and took his business seriously. Good sign. I was initially hesitant to use him due to the name of the company. I had it in my mind that I needed a landscaper to correct the sink hole, but I was wrong. Upon meeting, Aldo I was impressed with his punctuality and friendliness. He gave us a very fair bid for the amount of work to be done. My wife and I felt that he was the right fit and asked him when he could start. He had his crew began the work within two hours of signing a contract that day. They came in on budget, finished the work in the agreed upon timeline and returned the landscaping to pristine condition. It really is wonderful to see a business who takes their jobs seriously and puts so much attention on the customer and doing a great job. Aldo is the man!

Having never done this before, I got about 3 different quotations, and eventually I settled on Remodeling Heroes as they had a decent track record and an acceptable price (for my bathroom remodel, this was in the low 30ks) Once settled, things started to get hairy. I had to navigate fairly onerous HOA requirements like FIIC for flooring (field impact insulation class for noise transmittance) and strict schedules for when workers were allowed to do demo work on the existing bathroom. I was able to work with Om (project manager) and Walter (foreman) to negotiate with the HOA and complete the demo within a day, after which came the longer process of slowly adding the required finishes. Finishes are probably what are most overlooked. I was able to get most of my finishes from East Star Building supply - which includes the tiles used. I opted for large ones for both the shower and the floor to reduce grout and thus the amount of cleaning needed. I also opted for a frameless shower with brass / brushed furnishes to keep maintenance low. Measurements were also complicated - I had to make sure everything would fit, and worked closely with Om and Walter to make sure it would work with the limited space available. I highly recommend working all these out long before demo and construction starts as it can be a very involved process. Eventually everything was neatly and installed and to spec, and inspection by the city was passed. There were complications with the HOA regarding onerous foam requirements for the baseboard but I was able to acquire the necessary form off Amazon so that was settled nicely. The only really hiccup came with the installation of the toilet, where there was some carelessness that led to water leaking to the unit below but fortunately we were able to get that sorted out. Overall it was a fairly stressful experience, but eventually the job was completed in a fairly tight timeline even with the struggles in satisfying the HOA. I have been quite pleased with the finished result, which is well done and so far has not shown any signs of water leaks. I love my new bathroom and am very happy with the result!

From the first time I talked to him he made it a point to understand my objective and try to find solutions on how he could help. I never got the feeling that he was in this for the money - he truly wants to contribute to my project which I sincerely value. The work that his guys do is second to none. I asked him for 70 feet of trenching, 24" deep and his guys cane out, knocked it out in a couple of hours, and it has clean lines, all the same depth. Because of my yard dimensions they had to do the work by hand but it looks like they used a tractor because it is so professionally done. Nick's 3 guys were 15 minutes early, hard at work immediately, and very skilled. They were friendly and helpful, willing to go beyond the scope of work to ensure the job was done right and to my satisfaction. All of this is before I even mention that his pricing was extremely competitive. I will find projects to work with Nick and his guys again. Good people, you won't be disappointed.

The job was pretty straightforward but the land did have a slight slope to it. Dimension gave me great recommendations from their experience on number of piles, retaining wall, parking curbs, and even incorporated a pipe running under the concrete for future electrical system and irrigation that I requested. I would hire them again for any concrete work or anything else that they are willing to do. Their communication through the whole process was excellent, which is something that I value very highly.

Before getting introduced to Dimension, I reached out to some other concrete contractors in the Bay Area; many of them didn't even respond perhaps because of the complexity in the job while others responded with quotes that were not backed up by enough details. Dimension's quote came in with a good level of detail with very reasonable price; in addition, it had all the paper work required by the city, from workers' compensation to liability insurance. When the actual work got started, we were really pleased to see good signs of a great construction company. The crews knew how to read plans, were highly skilled and they were really hardworking (to the point that we were worried they didn't take enough breaks!). Since there was quite a bit of demolition, the crew cleaned up our driveway every day before they left. Nick, the owner, was very organized, along with great support from the office manager Daniela. Nick checked in and communicated with us on a daily basis, and was very patience in listening and responding to our questions. He got all the equipment and materials in order and he was very experienced in dealing with field engineers and city inspectors. As with any large projects, we also had "surprises" that were not covered by the plans and had to make changes accordingly. Each time when a surprise popped up, Nick put our project's interest first and tried to make flexible accommodations, even though it meant he would make a bit less money out of such changes. His homeowner-first approach was in stark contrast with dishonest contractors who low-balled their quotes just to get into projects and then take advantage of the change orders to make money. Many thanks to Dimension, we couldn't be happier with the new walls and drainage systems. In so many ways, we were lucky to get to know Dimension through their excellence. And when neighbors asked for referrals, we had no hesitation in recommending Dimension.
