Quality of service was very mediocre. The job involved various repairs and maintenance of my rental condo (paint of unit, installation of new toilet, repairing blinds and a deep cleaning of entire unit). At the end of the job, I reviewed finished work and advised Job Manager of remaining work which needed to be done. I was advised that the Project Manager thought project was great and he would not revisit any of the items I thought still needed to be taken care of. Conclusion is that if they get busy with jobs which are larger than yours. your job might not get finished. I had to hire a plumber to come in and finish their work. I do not recommend this company and I will not use them again in the future. read more

tldr; excellent work ethic and going above and beyond, but be sure to have materials prepped! In July 2024, after having purchased my home, a condo in downtown San Francisco, the first thing I wanted to do was to remodel my bathroom. Having never done this before, I got about 3 different quotations, and eventually I settled on Remodeling Heroes as they had a decent track record and an acceptable price (for my bathroom remodel, this was in the low 30ks) Once settled, things started to get hairy. I had to navigate fairly onerous HOA requirements like FIIC for flooring (field impact insulation class for noise transmittance) and strict schedules for when workers were allowed to do demo work on the existing bathroom. I was able to work with Om (project manager) and Walter (foreman) to negotiate with the HOA and complete the demo within a day, after which came the longer process of slowly adding the required finishes. Finishes are probably what are most overlooked. I was able to get most of my finishes from East Star Building supply - which includes the tiles used. I opted for large ones for both the shower and the floor to reduce grout and thus the amount of cleaning needed. I also opted for a frameless shower with brass / brushed furnishes to keep maintenance low. Measurements were also complicated - I had to make sure everything would fit, and worked closely with Om and Walter to make sure it would work with the limited space available. I highly recommend working all these out long before demo and construction starts as it can be a very involved process. Eventually everything was neatly and installed and to spec, and inspection by the city was passed. There were complications with the HOA regarding onerous foam requirements for the baseboard but I was able to acquire the necessary form off Amazon so that was settled nicely. The only really hiccup came with the installation of the toilet, where there was some carelessness that led to water leaking to the unit below but fortunately we were able to get that sorted out. Overall it was a fairly stressful experience, but eventually the job was completed in a fairly tight timeline even with the struggles in satisfying the HOA. I have been quite pleased with the finished result, which is well done and so far has not shown any signs of water leaks. I love my new bathroom and am very happy with the result! read more

The kitchen was very old and never been touched, generally we never did any work on the house and were very hesitant to do anything. We recently finish a kitchen and 2 bathroom remodels with Heroes. I had the pleasure to work idan. When we first met Idan we weren't sure what we wanted to do. Our kitchen has a large footprint but it's poorly designed, luckily, Idan and his team were able to generate few design options and one really caught our eyes. We had to do some layout change so that required and architectural plans, we submitted the permits for approval and started the project. Excellent choice to remodel our bathroom in our 100 year old home. Everything was broken or worn out. We are a senior couple and wanted to plan for the future. I was very impressed with the project manager, foreman and workers. They were attentive, respectful and worked with great skill. They kept the vintage details we wanted, like the window and door frame. We installed a walk-in tub, which was unusual, but they did a great job with it. When problems arose, they always had an good solution, such as when the wall tile we chose turned out to be unavailable. They made good alternative suggestions to my ideas, such as a glass panel on the open side of the tub instead of the built-up wall I thought we needed (less space, easier to clean, and lets in more light). They handled all permits and observed all code requirements, like a new main electrical panel and lead paint abatement. The price was reasonable (I obtained other bids). We hired Heroes few months ago to help us with a permit set for an addition. We meet with their architect, at first we didn't appreciate that the architect was going against some of our ideas. Later on we realized that our ideas were very expensive and he was just trying to help us stay in budget. All in all it was a savior. We end up hiring heroes to construct a addition as well. Although they came is the most expensive out of the three bids but we trusted them. During the construction they kept us informed every step of the way, including hiccups and delays which we appreciate it since we were renting a place during the construction. The Remodeling Heroes team worked with us over 6 months for a significant home rebuild after we had some water damage and subsequent mold. We had another contractor remove the mold and a lot of the damaged materials, but we were stuck in a transition point in the project when the scope of the rebuild surpassed our first contractors capacity. Idan and team were referred to us by a friend using them already, and they were extremely responsive and optimistic about how we might move forward on the project without some of the capacity constraints that we had heard from other contractors. We talked through the scope of the project, estimated costs, expectations on working together, and everything else we needed at a very stressful time, and we really appreciated the Hands-On onboarding that we got. The first big win is this team's ability to engage the city on permits - they have a dedicated team member who was fantastic at staying with the city to move our complicated situation through all necessary signatures. We had no issues with any subsequent inspections for the same reason. The overall building team worked diligently for many months to get us back to a solid place. We had a couple of change orders, which we communicated about very openly and effectively, and we really appreciated the flexibility with which Idan and team operate - they understand that we have resource constraints and yet might need to get work done, so they get creative with us to understand how to best solve the problem. With multiple subcontractors and timelines, we had some challenges near the end of the project in nailing down the exact move-in date, but we were able to communicate openly about it and moved in when all the critical work was already done, and then we had a few weeks of project work while we were already living in the house. The trailing punch list of items was easy to discuss, and the team took care of everything we brought up within reason. If you have a complex project, you definitely have to stay on it with any contractor, which is our experience here, and what we appreciated was that this team was always open to the conversation and responsive to our needs. read more

2 weeks ago remodeling heroes completed a second story addition for our house. We added a 400 square feet above the garage, we added staircase and added new HVAC in the attic and raise the the ceiling height. The process took about 11 months, include planning and permitting and approval process by the city. My foreman was Eran and he did great work communicating the different steps of the project, informing us about delays and inspections. They also helped us to source the material for the flooring and stone. My only feedback is that site was a bit dirty during the construction . Several months ago I've worked with Eran on my ADU design. The permitting team was very good, kept me posted on the progress and keep me up to date. Once the permits got approved they immediately scheduled the starting date and, the team was pleasant and nice, the ADU was done about 3 weeks ago and seem like everything was done great, no leaks or issues with the electrical. The work took a bit more than they said it will take, that's was a bit disappointing but they did communicate delays so I'll give them that. I hired this team to do a remodel of my late mother's home. Built in the 1920's with very little updating since then, it was a disaster of a place. Idan helped me come up with a plan that I could have never conceived on my own. I actually felt good about the project for the first time after that initial meeting and let him make many of the creative decisions as this is his passion (not mine). He gave me a fair and comprehensive proposal and stuck to the number, despite all of the unexpected things that popped up during the project (ex. a very large mushroom decided to grow out of a crack in kitchen ceiling due to a roof leak, no kidding). What RH did was amazing, especially if you knew how bad it was at the beginning. They had to deal with Oakland city permitting in the midst of that department's data breach issues last year. They quoted us for repairing our vinyl floor then it took a week and a half for them to schedule the work, in fact they did not get back to me, work was scheduled because I called back multiple times to follow up. When I finally got to speak to someone, they were kind to work with our schedule and schedule the work to be done over night. We had to reschedule on our end per our store manager's request to do it in the day instead. Once a again, they took week to get back to me and scheduled the work to be done following week. The day they finally could do the work they cancelled due to an emergency. I understand emergencies happen, but they never sent someone else (They outsource the work to contractors). I have been trying to reschedule but no response, I was not going to wait another week...
