They handled all communication with the tent and rental company and gave us honest, thoughtful recommendations on everything from the tablescapes to the alcohol. We truly trusted Lenny, Allison, and the entire team throughout the planning process and never felt like we were being upselled, which we really appreciated. They were very transparent about pricing, and we felt their prices were fair for the quality of the food and level of service they provided. They are really more than just a catering company - they helped us plan and coordinate every aspect of the day. We walked through the timeline for dinner, dances, speeches, etc, and when the day came, Lenny was on-site overseeing it all and making sure the vendors (DJ, photographer, etc,.) were all on the same page. This eliminated so much stress since we did not have our wedding at a traditional venue - we even had to bring in bathrooms! Allison also helped us visualize our layout and table spacing which was so helpful when you're working from scratch. She also helped us sort out some last-minute issues with our tent when our anticipated guest count jumped from 125 to 150. The food was amazing! And plentiful. I'm still thinking about our sushi bar! Our tasting with Lenny was also such an enjoyable part of the planning process. Passed apps were so creative and I loved having so many options to choose from. And as an East End local it meant a lot to me to incorporate locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients, so I loved that Lenny took such care in crafting his menus. My husband and I also had a staff member, Bella, attending just to us. Everybody warns you how hard it is to eat on your wedding day but Bella made sure we had plates of appetizers waiting for us after cocktail hour - she was amazing! We spent 11 months planning our wedding, and I owe it to Moriches Catering for making the planning experience as stress free as possible. Their attention to detail was spectacular and they were always available for a call to discuss any questions. If there were any hiccups on our wedding day, I was completely unaware of them, which is exactly what you want as a bride. He then set up an on-site kitchen that delivered with some of the best food: His chateaubriand grilled on a charcoal grill was outrageous. His calamari was tender and cooked on sight. His salads were fantastic, and even the asparagus was great. For dessert his Banana foster garnered rave reviews. Likewise for his shrimp, salmon and lamb chops. No one left hungry or disappointed. Nick had the good thought at our home based wedding located on the Great South Bay to drop the flaps on the tent when the wind picked up at the end of the ceremony. We didn't have to tell him - he anticipated what we needed for the event to be a success. That is Nick's secret - his experience and cooking expertise makes him anticipate your needs before you do! His crew of 6 were so helpful and caring. Every guest told us it was the best wedding they had been to. Why? Great food, caring help, smart plentiful choices. So, in honor of all these accomplishments, I'm dedicating my 200th review to Chef Lance, who helped make my birthday on Jan 27th perfect, very special and exactly what I had hoped for on many levels! From my first conversation with Chef Lance, I knew I found a wonderful Chef, and person! He replied to my initial contact within an hour of messenging him. Through our many emails and texts, together we created a menu that well exceeded 5 stars!! My birthday dinner was prepared in my home for my family, 6 people total! Dinner was called for at 7:30 and Chef Lance arrived at my home around 4:00 to set up and begin preparations. He was so cordial, knowledgeable and his stories of becoming a chef and all his experiences through the years fascinated me! Now for the good stuff, my menu.... Coconut Shrimp appetizer, Penne alla Vodka, Salad, Chicken Francaise and Honey Glazed Carrots. The entire night felt like we were eating in a very cozy restaurant! Chef Lance plated every dish and we enjoyed it all tremendously! Everything was just delicious! I have to point out certain things that stood out to me: the chicken was purchased from a butcher, jumbo shrimp were used and so incredibly fresh and succulent! The coconut was toasted beforehand and the homemade dipping sauce was nothing like anything I have ever had before. It was fruit based with an Asian twist, just fantastic! Because Penne alla Vodka is a favorite in my family, an extra batch was made so everyone could take some home to enjoy again! After dinner, my kitchen was completely cleaned and all dishes, pots, etc were washed. My daughters BF bought a cheescake for dessert so at that point it was time for Chef Lance to leave. From start to finish, he was in my home for almost 5 hours! I can't rave enough what an experience having a chef prepare an intimate dinner was like!
