When my husband and I met with Anthony from Moriches Caterers in the beginning of our wedding planning process, we had a vision for a rustic, but elegant wedding, which was to be held in a historical society barn where there had never been a wedding before. This barn did not have running water, a bathroom for our guests, or an on-site kitchen...it was essentially a shell. We were concerned about how we would pull this off with our lack of experience in party planning and a tight budget. When we met with Anthony, we expressed these concerns. Within our first meeting with him, we had full confidence in his ability to execute our vision successfully. With his 28 years of experience in this field, his attention to detail, intuitiveness, and "get-it-done" attitude and work ethic, he put us at ease. Throughout our wedding planning process, Anthony dedicated much time to meeting with us to discuss the plans for our menu, layout of the barn, rentals, etc. and he made visits to Shelter Island where our event was to be held so that he could take measurements to provide us with possible layout options. Anthony always kept our best interest in mind and he was honest. He did all that he could to respect our budget while also providing us with the experience we were hoping for. Additionally, he guided us throughout the process to help us know what was essential for achieving our vision and where to cut costs. Anthony knew exactly what we needed. Just three weeks prior to our event, I changed my mind about the type of tables I wanted to use. This, in turn, would affect our entire layout. Anthony was extremely flexible and accommodating. He met with us to go over our new plan and found a way to make it happen. Every time we left a meeting with him, we felt that we could relax because he had it all under control. The day prior to the wedding, Anthony traveled out to Shelter Island to ensure that all our rentals were delivered (tables, chairs, tablecloths, napkins, glasses, etc.). On our wedding day, he took total control so that we could enjoy our special day. When we arrived at the barn, we were blown away by the ambiance that Anthony and Carmen had created...it completely exceeded our expectations. Their attention to detail enriched the theme and experience of our wedding. They incorporated historical pieces found at the barn as functional décor and brought their own lanterns that were placed on cocktail tables outside (which we hadn't even planned for). As for the staff, my husband kept saying that they were like "ninjas"...they kept the place looking spotless without even being noticed. The transitions from cocktail hour, to dinner, to desert and coffee throughout the celebration were seamlessly flawless. This led to a smooth flow of the day. All of this comes without even commenting on how stellar the food was! We knew the food was delicious and tastefully prepared from our tasting, but our guests were RAVING about the food and its presentation (and we have some tough critics in our family!). I got married on September 7th of this year and was lucky enough to have come across Anthony of Moriches Catering when conducting a search for BBQ- style caterers in the Hamptons. I wasn't sure what to expect especially since I wasn't terribly familiar with vendors in the Hamptons. I planned my whole wedding from Manhattan never having met him, tasted their food or spoken to anyone else who had used them. I went with my gut and literally couldn't have been happier with my decision to use Moriches. Anthony was a PLEASURE to work with. He provided timely answers to my many questions and emails, and provided lists of vendors he has worked with and trusted. My wedding went off without a hitch. From having an iced tea setup beneath a tent on Flying Point beach to the gorgeous backyard tented reception with gorgeous big farm tables..it was my exact vision. And the food!!!! My guests will not stop raving about the steak!! Everyone enjoyed chicken, steak, fresh, fresh seafood- even the hamburgers and hotdogs were devoured! the food was perfect, elegant, and displayed beautifully. I was worried since I was throwing a BBQ- I didn't want it to look like a 'regular BBQ'- Anthony totally got my whole vision. He created the most gorgeous raw bar/cheese/artisan table- which I didn't even get to enjoy because my guests ate it up like wild animals! The service was beyond friendly- the bartenders mixed perfect drinks. We had our wedding a few weeks ago, August 6th, in the Hamptons. We have nothing but the best things to say. Our guests are still raving about the food, service and how wonderful everything was. We could not be happier. Anthony and Carmen went above and beyond from day one. They helped us to organize the rentals, tent, and gave us recommendations for other vendors (bathroom trailer, sanitation, etc.). The week of, Anthony met with us on location, and we went through every single detail, even things we would have never thought of. The morning of the wedding, they arrived at least 7 hours before our ceremony and the work that they and their team did was amazing. The blank canvas that was our backyard transformed into the most beautiful wedding location, more beautiful than we imagined. They set up everything. I sent them pictures and they setup up all the extras, seating chart, memorial table, sign in board, and most especially all of our centerpieces (which were a pain =/). All my husband and I keep saying is that it exceeded our expectations every time we turned around. I was on the premises the whole day of, and didn't have to do a single thing. Their organization, preparedness and pleasurable attitude is beyond words. While we would never forget our wedding day, we are so happy that instead of looking back and picking at things that went wrong, we can just look back and be so happy that everything went right. I don't have nearly enough space here to describe all the amazing things about Anthony and the Moriches Catering team! From start to finish, the process was a breeze! Anthony was always available with advice and prompt answers to my questions. This guy knows his stuff and is an absolute pleasure to work with. He has a team of reliable vendors (tent, DJ, flowers, photographer, portable bathrooms, etc) that he works with regularly so he can help you attain those services as well. And speaking of breezes, our wedding was on the water on an extremely windy and chilly day. Anthony and his team made the necessary adjustments to the tent and party area to make the party flow smoothly and so my decorations didn't get damaged by the wind. His staff was hardworking and extremely pleasant and attentive to our every need. They were like a well oiled machine! And the FOOD!!!! Absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! The grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters, mini beef tacos, pulled pork sliders were among my favorite appetizers. And the skirt steak!!!! You will not get better steak anywhere! My husband and I enlisted Anthony and Carmen to help plan our wedding, no small feat considering that we lived on the other side of the country in Seattle! Over the course of the planning, the dynamic duo consistently went above and beyond in their communication, responsiveness, helpfulness, and all around awesomeness. They helped take care of all the details that go into planning a wedding such as lights, flowers, decor, rentals, ceremony timing, etc, and worked with all the vendors to take care of those details so that we didn't have to worry about it too much. On the day of the wedding, we didn't worry about those details at all and were able to simply relax and enjoy our time with our family and friends. We also enlisted Moriches Catering to provide catering for several meals over three days including a BBQ lunch, lobsterbake dinner, cheese & snacks, drinks, and late-night sandwiches. We were trying to come up with a unique gift for our parents 60th Anniversary and thought about surprising them with a Lobster Bake Dinner. We live in Sarasota Florida and our parents are in Westhampton Beach so all the planning had to be done over the phone. Not only did they cater our wedding with amazing food (everyone was raving), but they also coordinated all of the logistics and did an amazing job--it never got stressful for us. They anticipated all of our needs and handled any problem that arose with absolute calm (we realized we needed a generator the day before the rehearsal dinner and my parents, whose backyard we were using for the wedding, were freaking out and Anthony calmed everyone down and got us a generator right away). They went above and beyond what we expected them to do (they even helped guide our aesthetic choices, which they did with great taste, and recommended vendors in the area). Anthony created a wonderful menu for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Fresh Lobster, Tuscan Chicken and Steak with his special sauce that was just to die for. Then to top it all off, the cakes were so delicious and absolutely gorgeous I did not want to even cut them. He also did a smores pit for the kids which was a big hit. My husband and I used Moriches Caterers for both our Rehearsal Dinner (09/18/14, 75 people) and a BBQ at our house post wedding (09/20/14, 75 people) in East Hampton. From the start Anthony was very professional and attentive. Anthony provided lots of good suggestions when we were deciding on some of the finer details and was just so easy to work with when it came to planning the smaller details. Moriches Caterers were fantastic. We were having a company offsite meeting and wanted to have a Clambake. Not only was working with Anthony and the team prior a great experience, they are great communicators. Even though they are quite busy, they make you feel as if you are their number one priority. The dinner was phenomenal, we had a chef and a chefs helper at the house, they seamlessly made 12 lobsters, steaks, corn, mussels and clams and everything in between, followed by a great strawberry shortcake. Moriches Catering catered my daughter's graduation party on Saturday July 12, 2014. The food was delicious and the guests had many compliments. We catered both hot food, heroes and cold salads. The presentation was worth noting. The salads were all presented in beautiful dishware. After speaking with Anthony and getting his input it would seem that we had just the right amount of food for all. There was even some leftovers to enjoy the next day. Nothing was forgotten from paper goods, to serving utensils to plastic serving gloves. The young employees, Gabe and Marissa, that delivered the food were very professional and polite. We have used this company three times so far and wouldn't hesitate to use them again! First we booked them three years ago for mine and my husband's 50th birthdays, and just used them again twice last month on the same day for a family event and our son's high school graduation party.
