I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the service and the quality of the work they do here. I've been coming here for a little over a year and each time is better than the last! They paint each nail with precision, I NEVER have clumps of gel polish in my cuticles, they always fix little things immediately, and are just as particular as I would be with my own nails. The polish they use is supplied by the big nail salon surplus store around the corner so I know it's all local businesses were supporting. Which to me means paying for ballet lessons and soccer practice rather than the alternative big corporate. The place isn't new or bougie or super frufru fancy! But it's down home, good people. Though I am writing about my most recent experience, I would like to share, upfront, that I have been going to this nail salon for years. I would not recommend. Here are just a couple of things to consider, I was a walk-in so didn't expect the best nail tech to work on me, but for $50 for a full set of acrylic nails I did expect better that what I ended up p with. I have had acrylic nails on and off my whole adult life and some have been amazing and some really terrible, so much so that I took them off immediately after getting home. I would rate these on the low to not great side, but not so terrible I removed them, YET. Just got them on Monday and it is Wednesday. But I did immediately have to file the shape to something more to my request. Ok, now here is the problem, I have a glob of product on the underside of my pinky that I should have never been allowed to leave with, that said I didn't really scrutinize them as much as I obviously should have. I guess I want to be appreciative of the person doing the work. But I'm really disappointed and won't go back. See pictures and you can judge. Im actually still sitting here, I told the lady they don't look square. So she keeps filing them I told her if she can not file them too much cause their getting short. She got mad and started yelling out loud ( EMBARRASSING ) !!! I went here to get s&s after seeing all the good reviews. It was one person getting work done when I got in. There was a very young lady that did my nails. Short version...I can't stand my nails! They're so bad that some white powdery substance is showing through the nails. It was so bad she did a design on the fingers to cover the white stuff showing. After , I the dip was done, she put gel over it. I've had this done enough times and had never seen this. Overall, I'm not impressed and will never go back here. They drill the nails down too fast, too far and seem to just rush through the work. Might be awesome for some, but not my type of nail salon. 2 stars because it looked clean. read more

I'm a nail newbie. I mean it. I barely knew the difference between gel and acrylics.... I knew nothing aside from the fact I wanted my nails done suuuper cute. First time walking in It was a little awkward; everyone just sort of stares at you. This is standard, I have come to learn. I had gotten my nails done for the first time EVER at a different salon and was disappointed... I didn't feel happy or the "spark" I felt like I was supposed to. I wasn't in love with them AT ALL. I came here at the suggestion of a work friend and i'm SO GLAD!! I did! Vivian did an absolutely lovely job and was so sweet to me during it. She fixed details that I wanted changed about the reference photo with no problem and was awesome about my concerns with length (I have sensory issues with my nails being a certain length). You could not pay me enough to return to this shop. This is by far THE WORST experience I have had with any nail shop. From the beginning I was not given the pedicure I asked for. I was then told I did not ask for the pedicure that I get at every single nail salon I go to. I didn't even get a massage! Not even a drop of lotion or even a sugar scrub. My feet look the same as when I walked in the door except now with a different coat of pain. At best, this was piss poor from beginning to end. After the completion of my pedicure I am now on my way to another salon in search of a real pedicure experience worth my time and money. This is surely a first and last time experience for me!! She did a great job on nails. I'd give an additional star or two if they had clipped my cuticles and lotioned my hands given that I paid for a full set. It's an additional $5 for them to push back and trim cuticles. Never in the 20 yrs I've been getting manicures has this ever been an additional service. Have been going to this place since 2016 to get my eyebrows done. I have been burned in the past at other places, due to the temperature of the wax. I have never had that issue here. Price is comparable to other places for same service. I one time forgot that they closed at 7:30 and not 8:00 and showed up at 7:35. Went to Diane's Nails by referral as I was new in town. When I arrived by appointment, I had to wait. Then after being seated, I had to wait. Once the older lady came to start my pedicure she pretended not to speak English. I asked for my nails to be cut short and square. She barely nipped at one side then began to just file the other! What, no time for the customer? Um, I asked again for them to be cut. She then told me in English that she knew what she was doing. Wow. I asked for the clippers and cut them how I wanted them, to show her, right? She didn't even file them and just scrubbed (way to much) my feet then put on the polish. I was quietly stunned! As I left and paid, I did provide a small tip, out of habit. Before I even was out the door the guy turned around in his language and said "hey you got a tip!", laughing. I knew what they said... it was that rude and obvious. The worst... experience. Only two weeks later I went to a DIFFERENT nail salon and told them what happened. Unimpressed. At first I was very excited about this newer nail salon. The woman who has been doing my nails for years is such a trek from home now. Everyone was friendly and kind. I even called one day when I had family in town and they were able to find the time to do 5 pedicures together. I decided to get my nails done for a wedding - something nice for myself - and booked for SNS with Diane. I showed up early for my appointment and had to wait (not really a big deal), but then I was taken 15 minutes after my appointment. I explained that I wanted SNS b/b I wanted the nails to be thin, showed a picture to Diane and she told me I should do regular acrylics and that she could do them very thin. Well, I'm the idiot who said ok, but my ring fingers hurt with the amount of acrylic on them. I wasn't asked what shape I wanted and it felt like I was just another number. I've been going gel polish for years and my old place gives a real manicure. I got acrylic put on my nails, and nothing more. When I got home, I ended up picking at my cuticles. I won't be going back here again. It's a shame b/c the people really are friendly, but for my hard earned money, I'd like to be more than just another set of nails. :/ read more

Awful and Overpriced! Went in for mani/pedi, we were rushed through our service and pushed out the door. Nails smudged so much on the way home that I had to take off all the polish and redo them myself! This used to be a decent place, but with the new management they are lousy! I usually don't complain or give bad reviews but it has gotten to the point I feel I should. I went as a group of 3 Sunday night and the other 2 seemed to have a fine time. We all got pedicures and the lady who did mine cut me up so bad that it is Tuesday night and I can't wear shoes. She was nice and I want to make sure that is known, but she needs to be taught how to do things properly. I have not been to get a pedicure for 16 years (I'm 24 now) and I am pretty sure it was not procedure to pour dawn dish soap on my feet and scrub them raw with a dish brush that may have been okay on the heels but not the sensitive tops of the feet, I have scratches all over from this process and am allergic to dawn soap though I did not think I would have to announce that when I went for a relaxing pedi. When the hot towel was put on it took all of my not to kick it off because the heat burned the scratched and quickened the allergic reaction (not a deadly allergy but one that causes small hives and itching usually) then when she got to my toes she cut so much off from the sides that they started to bleed, poured alcohol on them which was awful, and painted my nails (which chipped within 24 hours with no like hard use of my feet, I have a desk job) and now, Tuesday, one of my toes got so infected it is swollen and I cannot handle the pain of wearing shoes. I really REALLY wanted to like this place, they were nice and again, the other 2 in my party had a good time with theirs, but the infection pushed me over the edge to make me was to write a review as now I will have to deal with it when I go on vacation this week. read more

Overpriced, 40 for a basic pedicure with the callus scrub, paint (shellac) has chipped after. I came in for a gel fill and the owner only handed me two color wheels yet they had an entire bin full for shellac colors, this limited my options. I then seen them ask every other guest if they would like water, I wasn't asked once. I'm black, and I feel it's because of that. Stereotype that I won't tip. Little do they know I work in the technology industry and would have tipped if offered great service. I Would rather drive all the way to Alexandria/Washington DC for great service.
