We ordered 12 regular slices for takeout one evening kind of later around 8pm. The slices were ready when we got there and they gave us a huge bag when we requested extra cheese on the side. The pizza was fresh and the crust was unbelievably crisp and crunchy while still having a fantastic chew to it. The extra cold cheese on top added a nice touch. We picked up from the window. Quite possibly my favorite pizza ever. I grew up eating this stuff, and although I now live in Louisiana, anytime I'm up in the area I go to get a tray. This pizza is different from any other pizza, as they put the cheese and toppings on AFTER it comes out of the oven, leading to a very distinct flavor. In short, the pizza here is unique and incredibly tasty. The classic pizza comes in squares and has fresh cheese that is put on the pizza after it comes out of the oven. This results in a pizza that has cheese that is partially melted, which I actually prefer since I feel as if I can taste the cheese better this way as opposed to the traditional melted cheese pizza. The sauce used for the pizza is actually what makes the pizza amazing. It's crisp, fresh and you can taste the Roma tomatoes. Absolutely delicious. I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 just because I feel as if the white pizza isn't up to par with the original pizza squares. The white pizza is more of a traditional marghertia pizza, yet in my experience was slightly overbaked and had too much cheese (perhaps not a bad thing for some). Overall, this place is great. A sad miss! This pizza could have been a "10". Excellent crust, delicious cheese but sauce is so gross and chunky. My Pizza had tomato chunks, seeds,and skins in the sauce. so Gross! Fantastic pizza! As a person, nostalgia and deliciousness keeps me craving this pizza with a fanatic sickness. Having moved away long ago, I would come back to this area buy a whole pizza and freeze it so it would fill my freezer at home. As a chef, this place serves a delightful high hydration dough, thin Sicilian style pie, with tomatoes imported from their family farm in Italy; absolutely spectacular. This is not NY pie! Horrible! Walked in asked for a small sausage and pepperoni pie. I was told that they come in slices. So since I am traveling alone on business, I say ok then I'll just take 2 slices. Guy says if you want as much as a pie, then you need more than 2. I respond 2 is fine. Get back to my hotel and the cheese isn't even melted on the pizza. I don't understand what people like about this place. It IS cheap; I'll grant you that- about $10 for a large. Is it the novelty of a half cooked pizza? They put the pepperoni & cheese on the pizza AFTER it comes out of the oven. Apparently, it's supposed to melt in the box but every time I've had it, it doesn't & you have to put it in the oven. The crust has a decent crunch to it, (probably from my aunt's oven) but the sauce is bland & the cheese tastes like plastic, though this last time I had it, the cheese was better, but still greasy & tasting like cheap shredded bagged cheese. I am going to give this review based on four things. Let's start with the service. The employees were nice and kind and worked very well they know how to make good pizza. Now for the dough it really depends on the day and time. you could go and get a pizza and the dough is still soft in the middle then you could go back the next day and it could be just right. Now let's talk about the crust the crust is always perfect to me but it depends on what you like. Now the toppings I prefer the cheese melted and stringy but some people don't like that.
