I went in to look at running shoes. I walked around for about 8-10 minutes before anyone offered to help. I asked the FIRST person if I could look at 3 specific pairs of shoes. He brought them out and literally disappeared. I waited for him to return but he never returned. So I proceeded to find another person to "help". I asked the 2nd person if I could look at 2 more specific pairs of shoes. Instead of saying ok I will get them he said they're the exact same shoe. I told him that may be true but they are different colors and wanted to try them both on. Again he gave a very dumbfounded look and said which 2 do you want to look at? I told him again to which I got another dumbfounded expression and he said are you sure? They're the same shoe. By this time I told him if you want a sale you should listen to your customers instead of arguing with them. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. The Manager on duty today at the Lyndhurst, Ohio store was beyond rude. I had a kayak paddle that I needed to exchange but I didn't have the receipt. I reviewed their exchange policy for items without a receipt and it clearly states that I could exchange it for the lowest selling price. I was happy with that. When I brought the paddle to the counter they immediately called the Manager. He stated that although their policy was as I had read I had missed the fine print stating that items used in water could not be returned or exchanged. There is no fine print. After a few rude words he stated that he had the authority to refuse an exchange or return and he wasn't taking the paddle and he walked away. I never had the chance to tell him that I had used my score card which shows my purchase in their records. I went to the Mentor, Ohio store where they very pleasantly looked up my purchase and happily exchanged my paddle. When I looked online to leave a review for the Lyndhurst store it stated that reviews were no longer being accepted for that store. Wow. That's all I can say. Wow. read more

I gave this store a one star due to the fact that we came here to find my boyfriend some things for his birthday. He likes to take his time and see what he wants but we noticed that a few of the workers(three women)at this store were following us around. We come to this store all the time and this time we did not appreciate being followed around as if we were doing something wrong. ok, I'm the type of girl who goes into these big-box stores and almost has a panic attack because I believe that there is such a thing as "too much selection". After spending 30 minutes trying to find a decent pair of shorts for Yelper M*$%, he finally made a decision and we headed upstairs to look at tennis rackets. Picked up a frisbee on the way up the escalators for when this wind finally dies down enough for us to play a bit! So, up the escalators we go AND....there's more shorts....for the LOVE of Fracking G*%!! But, he finally got the shorts he wanted and we wound up grabbing a couple of cheap tennis rackets and a can of balls (he he....ballz) for me to learn the game. Wound up walking around the upstairs section for a bit, despite their attempts to specialize in pretty much everything, what happens is that they become pretty mediocre in most sections (except guns, but I don't know much about those). I would go to specialty stores for pretty much everything they have upstairs (rafting/canoeing/kayaking, camping, water sports, etc, etc) because their selection, while wide, is not very good. Their hiking shoes for women were sparse and you would probably be better off heading to a running store to get some running shoes and get properly fitted by someone who knows their stuff. I will say that I'll probably be back to pick up some golf clothes though, because they had some pretty cute shorts and shirts there...but really Lance Armstrong, do you have to put your name on everything?? This store is amazing. They have a good selection of sports related gear. I've shopped here twice for shoes for my nephew and each time I was really impressed with the service. I was there on Tuesday for shoes, I was greeted promptly by a salesperson and she was very patient and knowledgeable about proper sizing, quality and performance of the different shoes. She was so pleasant to work with! She was upfront with me about a particular shoe which ran big and had odd sizing etc. I had recently gone to a competing "running shoe specialty store" in the plaza near Richmond/Mayfield Rd in Lyndhurst, Ohio and the salesperson let me waste money on shoes that were oddly sized and my kid couldn't wear them 3 weeks later. So, I really appreciate the knowledge, patience and professionalism I got from the Dicks associate. I'll always return when my kid needs shoes. Even if I had to wait for service (they can get busy because they're in a great location), I wouldn't mind or I'd return later because I know the associates are patient and they will stick with me until I find a product that I'm happy with. I love the service I get here and I hope they never leave my neighborhood! read more

Long time customer that will be taking my business elsewhere. I'm writing this on behalf of my father who is a senior citizen and doesn't really use social media. Due to covid I pitched in to purchase my dad a treadmill so he can exercise. As you all know it can be deadly for someone his age to go the gym and unsafe for him to walk/run on the snow and ice. The treadmill was suppose to be delivered yesterday and it never showed. We called Dicks and left a massage and didn't hear from them until this morning. We then arranged to have it delivered early this morning and again the delivery company did not show up in the time window indicated and no one called to notified us. My father called and left a message and no one called back for a while. He called again and talked to customer service at Dicks who arranged to have it delivered later this afternoon. Again the delivery company came later than indicated. With that being said, my father tipped the movers because it's the right thing to do. Unfortunately, the movers left the treadmill box sitting in our backyard with our gate opened. My father called Dicks about the box and he was told he didn't indicate on the form to have the box removed and that he will be charged a fee for having the moving company come back and another fee for box removal. Now we have to call the city to arrange a special pickup. This was very poor performance Dicks. read more

So I went in to pick up a few items. They had the items I wanted and for a decent price. Here's the rub. The had one cashier and a line twenty people deep. Meanwhile I walked past a manager standing in the middle of the store doing "Dick" all. He was chatting with some old buddy. It took me 30 minutes to make my purchase. Get on a register dude! Anyhow customers got lousy service so the store manager didn't have to cut short his chat and actually do some work. read more

Terrible service! Wanted to buy a $2,000 treadmill; probably the most expensive item in the store. Could not find any help, and when I eventually found a sales person he told me he did not know about treadmills. Some time later on another sales person showed up, but he also knew very little about the treadmill. Against better judgement I told him I wanted to purchase the item. However, he could not process the order. So, I queued up for around 10/15 minutes only to find the lady at the cash register was also not able to process the order without the numbers from the salesman. So, after a further wait he sent down the numbers; of course they were incorrect! So, it's Christmas time and everyone is shopping. To cover this, Dicks have very few competent salespeople, if any! Nobody is informed about the most expensive items in the store, and so Dicks lost the sale. Poor, poor service and it's the management who are to take the total blame. The salespeople are just trying to make a living and the management should be ashamed! read more

I hadn't been in a Dick's for so long. I usually just order online. Today however I needed something by tomorrow so I had to go in. I went right at opening and was the only one there. The store was quiet, empty and still neat and put together. I actually enjoyed browsing a bit. Whether it is because Dick's website is bad or because there is just so much merchandise on it going into the store now and then is a good idea I think to see things. The displays in store are actually pretty good and Dick's is a store where feeling or "trying out" something in person might be a good idea. I will have to stop in here a bit more. This is in a quiet party of Legacy so unless there is some event going on you can always get a close free spot right by the door. read more

Today at the cash desk they were all chatting to each other across their customers, so rude. I just went in to purchase 2 Yeti cups. When I got to the register I explained how I am an employee at the Dicks Sporting Goods in Buffalo New York and asked to put in my numbers to get the discount. The cashier Kennedi told me no because I did not have my ID on me. I explained how I also worked at this location last year and how I would call my current location if she needed proof. She was extremely rude and basically ignored me when I explained I also had a reward on my account.
