Extremely negative experience with Dick Scott. Swapped my first leased vehicle out a month early for a new lease. Seemed like a simple deal at the time. Then, days later, got hit with a multi-thousand dollar third party charge for excess damage on old vehicle (which it did not have). Vehicle had never been in any accident, but even with me paying for an excessive wear and tear plan, it still cost me several thousands of dollars (almost a third of the total cost of the lease). No warning, no way to argue with the charge. Dealership just washed their hands of it and laughed at how badly they screwed me over. This is exactly what everyone fears when dealing with an auto lease. Thinking everything is good to go and then getting hit with a massive out of pocket hidden fee for absolutely nothing. It has made me detest my new vehicle and cannot wait to be done with this lease in a few years so I can never work with Ram again. read more

Talked to the dealership about a jeep grand Cherokee L and they said it had a trailer hitch on it. I drove 11/2 hours out to dealership and met sales guy Nelson. We walked out to the car and I told him that the person I spoke with they said it had a trailer hitch. We looked and it did not have the trailer hitch. I said I need a trailer hitch and all he said was I guess you're not buying the car. Nelson could care less about selling me a car and there were other people waiting at the dealership. BEWARE buying a vehicle here without doing YOUR OWN inspection first. Whoever does the inspections clearly sucks. I should have taken my own advice, but I didn't and here we are. I clearly put too much trust into this dealer. My experience at Dicks started out good. Good communication- obviously because they want you to buy their cars. I purchased a vehicle on a Thursday and by Monday it was going into the shop. The morning after purchase, my boyfriend goes into the garage and tells me that it smells like gas. I didn't really think anything of it- couldn't be my new car that's been inspected? By Sunday I had 4 lights on my dash including the check engine light. WHY would a vehicle that has been inspected have a horrible gas smell, and a bunch of lights come on? I drove it ONCE since getting it(not even 30 miles) When I called Dicks to let them know of my issues, I was told "well we inspected it and drove 200 miles to deliver it and it was just fine." Absolutely ridiculous. So it's not their problem that issues are arising now. I trusted this dealer to give me a RELIABLE vehicle as they state it's been looked over by mechanics. I clearly have a gas leak. The mechanics either don't care about their job or they're just not doing thorough inspections like they say they are. I've already spent $500 fixing the issue on my NEW vehicle that I drove once. Once they get their payout- they're going to treat you rudely and like it's everyone else's fault but theirs. This place is a joke, customer service is terrible as well as there repairs. My lower control arm was bad "they said" little did they kno I had a hidden camera on the underneath of vehicle they were supposedly changing the lower control arm. They did not change it, but they did charge my warranty company for the labor to change it & for the new part. After they supposedly changed the lower control arm, they then claimed they put a front end alignment on the vehicle, without calling to authorize the work, that they claimed they did & I have irrefutable evidence they did not do none of what they claimed they did. Not only was Jud unwilling to allow his service staff to help a customer with an ongoing, documented, recorded problem, but he was too "busy" to pick up the phone and explain to me voice to voice. He had no problem delegating a courageous conversation to one of his subordinates, Chris. I not only will never purchase from Dick Scott again, I will not purchase from Chrysler/Dodge/Ram/Jeep. This dealership (with the exception of Jillian) has no integrity and is as progressive in the industry as it's sad, dimly lit, incredibly outdated showroom. Oh, and a small update. Jud called me to discuss this situation and his solution was to "call corporate" and informed me that intermittent tech issues related to a back-up camera would not make him upset and that I should essentially just deal with this for the remainder of the lease on a $60K Ram. The service department at Dick Scott does not keep their commitments when scheduling service and does give customers the common courtesy of proactive, open, honest communication. Took my vehicle in for a scheduled service appointment at 7am. At 2:30 I reached out for status and was told my vehicle would not be ready that day. They never even looked at it. I got excuses (shop was busy) but no solution, no offer to reschedule, no offer of courtesy car, and definitely no promises could be made as to when they would get to it. This is not the first time this has happened to me here and from other reviews here on yelp it is common for Dick Scott to take your vehicle for a scheduled service and not look at it and not communicate with you. As an extra frustration, when I got my vehicle (without getting service - I cannot be without it for more than a day without notice!) the Auto Stop light is on, wasn't on when I dropped it off. read more

I am very unhappy with the service. I have one vehicle, a 2020 Grand Cherokee Limited. What I would say is relatively new. I had to tow it there for a Monday morning service, it was not diagnosed until Tuesday, had to have a part ordered, did not come in until Wednesday. This is already 1 day lost now. They said fixed on Wednesday, when I picked it up, it was not working. Still working on it Thursday, without diagnosing the problem. What can I do to get a repaired vehicle? The service I received was so horrific for the sake of sanity go anywhere else. A long story but a one day, appointment made 3 weeks in advance, job took 4 days. I was never updated, had to continuously call, was never given accurate information. Top that off when I finally picked it up they could not find my key and got half way home before realizing they still had my wheel lock. They were rude, discourteous and arrogant. Although the service manager came across as very kind, it's irrelevant if he allows his staff to be hideous. Save yourself the anger, stress, heartache, impending stroke and just go somewhere that actually wants your business. I can only assume that this service department only exists because the manufacturer requires it because they clearly have no interest in customer support or satisfaction. I would give this zero stars if this was an option. First we bought a car from here and we were not even on the expressway ( which is right next to the dealership) and the engine light came on. I called them right away. They told me to bring it back Monday because it was the end of the day and the shop was done for the day. I took it back and they changed the O2 censor. Next day the light came back on. Took it back and they said it was the other O2 censor. While taking this back I made appointments, but they never saw you on time and twice when I went there they had excuses why they couldn't look at my car that day. Now we are on the third time I have taken the car back for the same reason again they said it was a different O2 censor and they had dripped oil on it. They changed it and off we went. About 3 weeks later engine light is back on. We took it someplace else to have it checked and it was an O2 censor. We called the dealership and they said bring it back in. At this appointment they told us there was oil dripping on the censor from the valve cover gasket that was cracked. They told us it would be covered. We'll it wasn't they charged us for it and said we bought the vehicle as is. I get it if we had driven it for a month and then something happened, but we were barley away from the dealership. Way to stand by what you sell. Anyways they said the car would be done the next day buy it wasn't. Then they said it would be done the next day which was Friday. It wasn't and they didn't even call us we had to call and get an update just before they closed. We were then told it wouldn't be done until Monday. I called the manager of this place and had to leave a message. Guess what no call back. I have called twice and my husband once and still no call back. Well we had to take the car back because there was antifreeze leaking now. When we went to pick up the car they were suppose to leave the keys in the car because we were going after work and they would be closed. We'll they didn't and luckily someone was still there, however they couldn't find our keys. Finally they found the keys and for the umpteenth time they were so sorry. Mind you we had to take this car in 7 different times in the 4.5 months we had it. We will never do business with them again. read more

Their communication with me was terrible and they repeatedly promised someone would look at it "the next day", then the "next day". After almost 4 months I took my Jeep somewhere else. Very disappointed. Got the runaround and put off. Service department dropped the ball from start to finish. Dropped off Jeep on Monday said it would take two days by Michael. Jeep needed a new fuel pump. Also wanted price on new tires and he said he would Let us know the next day. That didn't happen. By third day we got tires else where and had it scheduled To be out on the Jeep on Saturday morning. Needed Jeep Back by Saturday. No communication and finally when I got To speak To Chris the manager on Friday was told it was not done and that he would make sure it was done by 10am Saturday and to be there at 10. Upon arrival the Jeep had not even been started. And of course no one is working to make sure it's done. When I spoke to Chris his response was I did my best. After re assuring me and even promising it would be done for me to pick up. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Unprofessional, and can't be bothered with the needs of their customers. Update: After it was not ready on Saturday, they discover they ordered the wrong part. Now it won't be ready until Tuesday. On Tuesday I pick it up. I take it for the tires and it won't start. Same problem from when I brought it to them to begin with. Called Autom and her response was they weren't sure it was that but they thought they would try it. So all that time and they resolved nothing. Would not recommend this place. Run, stay away. read more

BEWARE OF BUYING FROM THIS DEALER! I made an appointment today to purchase a new vehicle from Rick at this dealership. After a conversation on the phone last night, I felt confident In dealing with this dealer. BOY WAS I WRONG! I showed up on time for my noon appointment. I was told by Rick that he would be with me shortly. I told him I would wait outside, (my own choice because of Covid-19). I kept walking in, looking for him. Finally, over an hour later I was waited on. I was told that a repeat customer had just walked in with no appointment, and wanted to purchase a car. I HAD THE APPOINTMENT - LET HIM WAIT! It was 91 degrees out, and this was only the start of my problems. I was wanting to get out of a lease early to purchase a vehicle. When I picked out the vehicle I wanted and discussed a price, I was told that the dealership would buy out my existing payments on my lease and I would not have to roll over anything into my new vehicle. I was deciding whether to purchase a sunroof or not, so took the paperwork to lunch to look over. Much to my surprise they rolled in over $1400.00 from my lease into my new car - and made out to me that they were covering the whole thing ! I noticed that Rick hesitated giving me the paperwork with the figures on it when I asked for it. Now I know why! I probably would have covered the $1400.00 myself if they had been honest with me - but I walked out amazed that they would keep me waiting in the heat for another customer with no appointment - then turn around and lie to me! read more

I had scheduled an appointment to have my car looked at. My appointment was Thursday, September 2 at 8 am. I dropped my car off the night before so it would be available to look at first thing in the morning. I called around 9:30 am to get a status update, I was told it hadn't been looked at yet and that it mostly wouldn't until early afternoon. I accepted that but when I hadn't heard anything by 4 pm I texted the service rep asking for an update. I didn't hear anything by 4:35 so I called the service rep and was told my car hadn't been looked at yet!! I was not happy about that but I agreed to leave it there overnight so it could be looked at Friday morning. I called at 11:30 am for an update and guess what they still hadn't looked at my car and didn't know if they would get to it today (Friday)! I asked the service rep to put my keys in the car and I would be by to pick it up when I could get a ride. Super frustrating what is the point of making an appointmen? I then called Dick Scott to talk with the general manager Mr. Jud Scott to express my lack of customer service. I was told Mr. Scott was in the office today but away from his desk and that I could leave a message which I did asking for a return phone call. It is now after 6 and I have not heard from Mr. Scott. read more

Awesome service from Brian/Collision department. My vehicle was in a fender bender in Fenton (where I live). Originally I took it to Randy Wise GMC/Fenton, but the service I received from Kenny made me RUN like hell outta there. After much research, I took it to Dick Scott's in Fowlerville. Brian in collision was very friendly, and took time to listen to my concerns about the damage the other vehicle may have caused. I also had a recall from Ford that needed to be addressed - they took care of it for me and save me a trip/time to Ford dealership here. It took a week to fix my car and when it was done, they delivered it to me! My schedule didnt work with shop hours, and Brian offered to deliver it. They drove 30 miles to bring me my car!, wow, that's service. They also detailed it. Dillan did a great job - love the dressing on the tires! My car looks awesome, can't tell I was hit. We are getting the law involved and taking action because this vehicle is not safe to have our small children in!!!!! I purchased a 2012 Jeep Wrangler from here a little over two weeks ago. The first few days with it were great but then my ABS module went bad and it had to be taken into the shop for a replacement. This Dick Scott is over an hour away from my home so I took it to be serviced at the Dick Scott in Plymouth. When I purchased the vehicle I went through Shawn, who told me that the extended warranty had a zero dollar deductible, this was apparently not the case. It cost me $100 to have the ABS module replaced. Then while they had my car at the shop they informed me that my tie rod sleeve was seized up and corroded, which would cost me about $400. I immediately called Shawn because there's no way I should have to pay $400 for something that has corroded, when I've only owned the car for about 15 days. I questioned her about the warranty's deductible when it came to having the ABS module replaced and all she could tell me was that I did have a deductible, even though she had told me more than once that I would NOT have a deductible, I explained to her too that I have the pamphlet she gave me where she had circled my package and the zero dollar deductible and I'd be willing to show it to her. Her response was well who knows what you could've written on that pamphlet since you've had it. I then brought up the seized tie rod and how I understand that I bought a used vehicle but there's no way that this wasn't a problem before I bought the car. She had no response to that and just turned the conversation back on the warranty. I informed her that the Dick Scott Motor Mall name was mud to me and I'd be sure to not let anybody I know purchase from there. She then had the nerve to say "well we did stay here late for you when you bought the car". Yes I was there until 45 minutes after closing finalizing my purhcase, but I had drove over an hour to see that specific jeep and had arrived about 45 minutes before they closed. I'm also sure that Shawn made quite a bit of commission of my purchase, so its not like I was there after closing just wasting her time. read more

I recently purchased a 2010 Jeep wrangler Sahara unlimited from this dealership. it had a problem with the rear passenger door at time of purchase, and I was assured that after they lubricated it, that it will work itself out with use. they were wrong.. I went to get my son out of the back seat, and the button stuck and the door wouldn't shut. I had to use a bungee cord to hold the door close. The windshield washer didn't work, but when you used the function on the lever, it sprayed the rear washer into the cargo area and into the interior of the vehicle. I tried to remove the dick Scott tire cover from the spare at the dealer, and the guy that sold me the vehicle (Mitchell) told me to leave it on there. it's a form of advertising for them.. I just bought what I thought was a great $23,500 vehicle and I didn't want to insult them by removing their cover on the lot... a couple days later I removed the cover, only to find out that the fire is slashed and has plugs in it. it's not a spare that I feel comfortable throwing on my vehile. then the rear passenger window stopped working. I am guessing it's because of all of the lubrication they put on the door mechanism that it got onto the electric window motor and did damage. then the coolant was really low and my heat stopped working... this is all with in 3 days of purchase.... so I was afraid that it's burning coolant... I brought all of these issues to their attention and they refused to make any of it right... that read door is a safety issue for my child, they won't fix it.. the guy back in service was very rude to, and I was told to talk to the guy that sold me the vehicle. Mitchell (the guy that sold me the vehicle) told me it will be taken care of, then I was informed that they will only fix the window washer issue. I was told to talk to the manager. I talked to the manager and he told me that I should be grateful that they are even fixing that one problem. at this point I'm very frustrated and I told them that I guess I should contact an attorney because I shouldn't have all of these issues right when I drive a $23,500 vehicle off of the lot, and then have them refuse to fix anything. I was stuck on the side of the road until I bungee corded my door shut and the door sensor was dinging and my interior lights were still on. After I said the word attorney, the managed told me to get in my vehicle and leave immediately. they refused to service the vehicle and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave at once. when I went back to the shop to get my vehicle, they were working on my door handle which I was told they were going to refuse to fix, and the manager told them to drop their tools and to get the vehicle out of there. I told the manager I can't legally drive off with a door swinging open. he said it's not his problem. the mechanic felt bad and popped the handle out so it would at least latch shut, and I said I better leave before your dick head manager calls the police huh. I thanked him for at least making it so I could drive without my door being open, and now I'm afraid to even try to open the door... worse experience ever, and I plan on telling everyone I know about this. read more

Neil Weaver was my used car salesmen. I purchased a vehicle from him before and was pleased with the way he handled the sale. When we wanted to get another Jeep we went back to him. This time the whole sales experience was not so good. He told me this about my Jeep "You guys have nothing to worry about.....your Jeep will be total paid for and you will not owe anything on it" Well that wasn't the case!! They rolled $1,200 on to are new car payment!! HE NEVER MENTION THAT TO US AT ALL!!! My wife caught it but decided not to go into it because it just wasn't worth it. We wanted to go through are Credit Union and we had it set up and they changed the loan to go through one of their banks! UGH! The young lady handling are paper work seemed a little upset like we were interfering with her lunch. She was very snotty and times, She had an ATTITUDE!!
