I didn't have a very big project (sub-panel replacement), but he was still the only electrician from Yelp who paid me the courtesy of visiting my house in person before bidding. He was always on time, always responsive to calls and texts, and was just a pleasure to work with overall. As we talked about many things while he was working on the project, I felt like we became good friends. It quickly became apparent to me that I was talking to a real professional, with tons of experience handling projects of scale incomparable to mine. I learned that over his 45 years in the industry, he was involved in very large projects in key roles, managed rewiring of hospitals, stadiums, thousands of amperes of power, he knows it all. That he simply got tired of the intensity of big business and decided to work for himself and for the regular folk like you and me. And his pricing is very reasonable, too. We just needed a new light installed in the entryway and two smoke detectors replaced. The smoke detectors were extremely high up so we could not do it ourselves. I also talked to him about replacing all the can lights and showed him what I was interested in. Later in the day he text me a picture of them at Home Depot. This will be our next project with Thoma. I also talked to him about when I worked at local company that we use them and he remembers the company this was back in 98. I highly recommend anybody who needs any type of electrical work done. It turned out the GFCI unit was badly burnt (see photo); I was one step away from an electrical fire that could have destroyed my home. Jason quickly replaced the burnt unit, then explained that my 2,000 watts hairdryer (commonly sold these days) generates a 16+ amp current that overloaded my 15 amp circuit. We had two GFCI's trip last week. Decided this wasn't a simple DIY project, so contacted Elect…read moreElectric upon referral by AM Sun Solar (which has also done quality work for us). Based on this experience, we'll be calling them again as the need arises. From initial contact through completion of work, they were thoughtful, attentive to detail, offered very clear communication and worked in a timely fashion. A human being answered the phone, which was a great first sign. She listened to our issue, asked for further details, and provided that information to the electrician who came out. We received e-mail and text from dispatch letting us know when Danny was on his way. It included a photo of him so we'd recognize him upon arrival (in case the clearly marked work truck didn't give it away). Upon arrival, Danny read back the information he'd received, which enabled us to move ahead with the project rather than spend time explaining it all over again. He located a third plug we hadn't even known had not only tripped, but melted down - plug, wiring, and on up into the wall. (We were lucky we didn't lose our house.) In short order, Danny had replaced all three GFCIs, replaced the burnt wiring and connected them in a manner which may be safer in future (no idea what original installer was thinking) and made suggestions at our request for some future upgrades to the system here. The work ran us more than a grand, which wasn't sweet, but we felt like we got professional work in a timely fashion.

He considered our concerns and needs for safety and convenience. We knew it wasn't going to be a simple install because our breaker was on the opposite side of the preferred install location in the garage. I received a detailed and itemized install quote along with load calculations of our current panel showing us we could charge at full amperage. When I asked another electrician for an itemized quote or question, I received no response/reply. Mike was great with answering all my questions and keeping me updated on our expected install date. Once the permit was approved, he was in constant contact with me to set up and finalize install/inspection dates. 1 day of install, inspection the next day. Mike also gave us a packet with information on 3CE rebates that we would be eligible for (with a video walkthrough help on how to fill out the application). Overall, I would highly recommend Mike (apprentice Reece was a diligent worker also) and Charged Up EVs' install service. Quote was reasonable and with rebates, not much out of pocket. I'd rather pay a bit more to have ease of mind and know it's done right. It was nice having someone respond to my questions and requests within a day and not ghosting me. No complaints, have already charged my vehicle 4 times since install. No issues to speak of.
