Add about extra $2 +tax to the listed price. I placed my 12pcs through the phone. When I paid, I wasn't paying attention to how much it was ($21.19). Then, later on she said she charged me for 8pcs, I paid more($13.49). Then I questioned how much is the actual price. I looked at my credit card charges to find out and she gave me cash back $2.86. I get that price is subject to change,but you need to display current accurate price you charge, not outdated price ($27.99). This place looks like a local favorite. Step over 5 Guys and let the 3 Ladies running this place take over! Awesomeness in stopping here, had the Reuben and chicken cheesesteak both with fries! Incredibly well made and the fries were better than any we've had at chain locations. Found this gem while geocaching, and if you are near, do yourself a favor and stop for a sandwich or snack! Best carry out fried chicken in the area. Got an eight piece with two of each piece and ordered one more thigh. Got three sides: pickled beets (I love them and am the only one in the house who eats them), potato salad (delicious), and banana pudding (my husband and daughter LOVED it). Service was fast and with a smile. I called ahead and it was ready right on time. This is a great option on an evening where one feels like taking the night off. Wasn't too far from Dickerson's Market, so decided to grab some of their fried chicken that many people in the area rave about. It's located in a gas station, so can't be bad, right?! Dickerson Market didn't disappoint! Ordered a 12 piece bucket ($21.99), bacon cheeseburger special (which came with fries and a fountain drink), two slices of pizza for the little ones, and grabbed macaroni salad and coleslaw from the fridge. Luckily they just finished cooking a batch of chicken, otherwise my order would have taken an additional 20 minutes (order ahead if you can!). The burger took a little bit of time, but wasn't too bad. The 12 piece bucket came with a mix of chicken breast, thighs, and legs. It was cooked well, not oily, crispy, and super juicy. Dickerson Market definitely gives the Amish market (which isn't too far away) a good run for their money when it comes to fried chicken! I also tried some of the bacon cheeseburger, which was good, but on the smaller side. Definitely don't expect a big, meaty burger here! Fries were good, but pretty standard. Didn't get a chance to try the pizza because C & N finished their slices by the time we got home, but I'm assuming that's a good thing! Service was friendly, with the cashier not rushing me as I was deciding what to order. Since this Dickerson is located inside of a gas station, there is also a mini market available (snacks, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages). Parking is available right outside the market, but there's only a few spots available. This could possibly be an issue with the post office is open. The fried chicken at Dickerson Market, at least the thighs that we had, is as great as I've been hearing for years! Sure, the market doesn't have much in the way of vegetables, but that wasn't why we finally stopped there during a leisurely drive up route 28 that included little 30mph (watch your speed!) Dickerson. We were there for their justifiably famous chicken. The thighs were crisp and so juicy even though we got them from the warmer, so I can only imagine how they'll be when we order ahead next time. The first bite gave a delicious hit of salty (but not too salty) chicken juice that threatened to run down our hands in the car where we were eating since there is no seating in the market, so we'll be sure to have plenty of napkins the next time we're in Dickerson. Best traditional "Southern Fried Chicken" in Montgomery County. I am so thankful that someone hasn't forgotten how to do classic fried chicken! The coating was moist and flavorful without being greasy, just like I remember from my youth. Dickerson Market is one of the few places left these days, were you just feel welcome and the food is always good. The staff is friendly and the ownership is not some corporation in some big city but a local who simply wants to satisfy her customers and produce good food. This place is like a mom and pop 7-11 (gas available) with a food counter inside. The chicken was indeed good, I give it a B+. A single chicken breast was $2.25 and it filled me up for lunch, I noticed other chicken pieces inside a display window looked meaty. They do sell by the bucket. Some very limited seating inside the place and outside picnic tables. I'm not from the area, but seemed like many regulars inside the place. Super friendly, helpful staff. My husband stopped at Dickerson Market on a bike ride to Sugarloaf Mountain, and accidentally left his cell phone and driver's license there. Someone from the store called me (because I showed up in the "recent calls" on his phone) and explained the situation. When I said he was biking to Sugarloaf, a customer took his phone and license and went and found him near the top of the mountain! Beware! I stopped in for a small item, paid with a $20 bill, and was given change only for a ten. They said it was recorded and they would look. I waited several minutes, and no response. This restaurant, market and gas station on Highway 28 in Dickerson has two small tables and a menu described by other reviewers. They do not have public restrooms. I asked and was directed to a port-a-potty with no toilet paper and an empty hand sanitizer dispenser. When I returned for toilet paper the clerk pointed at the napkin dispenser on one of the tables. I imagine some customers hands are all over everything after relieving themselves. This place is a disgusting hole. Avoid if at all possible. read more
