Local produce and fun stuff. Spendy but convenient for all but produce. Stop by there every time we are driving through Bingen to the forest

It is in the small town of Cook, WA but I believe they do production in the nearby town of Bingen, WA. Both towns are in close proximity to each other and nestled in the always beautiful Columbia Gorge. I learned that Blue Bus also makes saurkraut so that already does warrant a return trip. The Kombucha I just purchased one flavor and was highly impressed by it. The flavor was Elderberry Rosehip. A very unique and fun flavor. The elderberries are a berry you don't come across too often compared to other more popular berries and the rosehip are less seen as well. Both flavors play off of each other well and make a very fine Kombucha. I am looking forward to trying some more of their flavors in the future, that much is for sure!

Colin was there and happy to answer all my questions. He has a background working in a brewery, but it wasn't congruent with his lifestyle, so he took what he knew and begin making kombucha and vegetable ferments. The couple has a small farm in White Salmon, Washington, where they grow produce for the fermentation tanks. They also sourced from their local farmer friends. Blue Bus Is a reference to a 1973 blue VW bus that was once the couple's fun mobile. I bought a can of both flavors of kombucha, Elderberry Rose and Turmeric Ginger. Colin gave me a sample of a flavor that is seasonal and not available yet via can, Rhubarb Mint. It was outstanding! Highly Recommended!!!

Saw this place while eating lunch nearby and the menu looked good so we decided to come back for dinner. While we would have preferred to sit outside, there was no availability. They sat us right next to the window though so it was basically like we were outside anyways so no complaints there. The bone marrow to start was a fantastic choice. I love bone marrow and this one did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked and great flavor I was getting every little bit out. For my main I was conflicted but decided to go with the octopus. I ate every bite of food on my plate it was so good. Octopus can be tough and chewy but this one was cooked so perfectly that I wished there was more. The sauce had a slightly spice to it as well which was really good especially on the potatoes.

I am very picky about getting good jams, honey and mustard (this company doesn't carry mustard) and the quality of this one jar was outstanding. After I found their web site I went on a buying spree of their products! I bought several jams, pumpkin butter, marionberry sauce, quince pate, pear and hazelnut pate, smoked pepper pate, Fuji applesauce and honey. All of their product is fresh from farmers in the Northwest, Oregon and Washington and it is all no-GMO (no genetically modified or pesticides) product. They carry some unique things like the marrionberry and huckleberry jams, all delicious. The pates are perfect to use with cheese, and the pumpkin butter can he used in pancakes. The order came pronto, within 3 days and I got enough for free shipping. The only complaints I have is they substituted a jar of strawberry rhubarb jam for strawberry. I specifically wanted the rhubarb and would have made a different selection than getting just strawberry. Then I emailed them twice about a 15% discount which I never got, and never got a response. Otherwise I am delighted and look forward to trying it all!

During our first visit, we arrived kind of late, and there was only one loaf of bread left, and two small baguettes, and so we bought everything they had and a couple coffees and a chai latte to take with us to the cabin. That ended up being an incredible choice because the baguettes made amazing grilled cheese sandos in our little kitchenette, and the rye bread was a hit for breakfast with avocado. The chai was delicious and the coffee was stellar. We stopped back in for lunch on our way back home, and had yummy breakfast sandwiches that were delicious! My croissant breakfast sandwich was next level with delicious bacon and flaky, buttery croissant deliciousness that I would have once more in a heartbeat!
