I seen this dr. two times and I believe he is Bi-Polar because one minute he was talking and after I asked a question he snapped and cursed at me. Went to this asshole for a headache. I have high blood pressure so I figured it has something to do with it. He gives me Nadolol 40 mgs. These pills make me so light headed that I cannot walk. He then tells me to cut the pill in half and buy a blood pressure monitor. It's because of these pills, my blood pressure is too low. I have cancelled the 2 appointments that I have with this asshole. As for my PCP who referred me to him, (Johnny Kovoor) he will be getting a piece of my mind, too.... read more

Negative stars to someone who's supposed to be a professional and is so far from it. From lateness, lacks sensitivity and bedside manners and to add the billing department is rude and inefficient. The "doctor" was dismissive, rude, didn't speak well of any of the doctors my mom previously saw and to top it all. They sent the bill for me to submit it myself. My dad went to Dr. Dickoff a few times before I said enough. Who in their right mind wants to wait 3 hours to be abused, not me. Plus he diagnosed my dad with Parkinson's disease, guess what, he did not and still does not have Parkinson's Disease 11 years later. If he dx you with PD get a second opinion. read more

After waiting in a filled to capacity waiting room for 3 1/2 hours, Dr. Dickoff offered no apology for keeping the patient/and family waiting. He then proceeded to conduct the appointment by asking questions he full well knew the answer to; some of which were physically evident, and which any professional doctor would have raised with sensitivity. Any questions we posed to Dr. Dickoff were met with disdainful looks and annoyed replies. I sat quietly throughout, allowing the patient to address all conversation. But the one question I did ask, was ignored. I repeated the question two more times, until Dr. Dickoff finally decided to reply, and his reply was "I already addressed that", --- when he had most certainly not. We had seen Dr. Dickoff on two prior occasions, yet the questions he asked were as if he had never seen the patient before. The comments he made pertaining to the patient's appearance of cleanliness were downright offensive, and his complete lack of sensitivity to the patient, who has special needs, was a reflection of arrogance, rudeness and unprofessional conduct. We had corrected his being misinformed about a certain symptom at the first appointment we had, but two appointments later, he continued to insist on his mis-information, and disregarded our correcting him for the third time. Dr. Dickoff is the lone neurologist for many residents at a highly regarded, well established assisted living facility in Riverdale. He is aware that some of the patients who come from that facility have no other alternative for neurological care. Based on that, it's quite evident that he takes advantage in whatever manner he can. Be it by keeping people who are in physical pain waiting for hours on end to be seen, or communicating to them [and their family or caregiver] with arrogant tones and comments. After I told Dr. Dickoff how I felt about his behavior, quite a few people in the waiting area gave me a thumbs up. His receptionist/assistant who could see how upset I was, after overhearing his nasty response and annoyance to a question I posed to him as we were leaving, told me that his behavior was nothing unusual, and that he was ... shall we say.,.... aptly named. If you want to receive professional and humane medical care, do not go to Dr. Dickoff. read more

I saw Dr. Dickoff three times. The first two times, for intake and tests. The third time, 2 hours waiting to see him in person. He changed my previous diagnosis, given by another specialist. He told me that the other three doctors gave me the wrong diagnosis. He told me to stop taking some of the meds prescribed by the other doctors. As well he told me: "Don't waste your time by going to so many specialists, I can treat to for everything". Also, he stated: "look for a hobby". I felt that he has passive-aggressive toward me, insinuating that he was a hypochondriac or attention-sicker individual. I answered him: "I have a lot of hobbies", and I mention each one in detail. Conclusion: I felt both, bullied and labeled by Dr. Dickoff. read more

I wish I could write a good review about Dr Dickoff as I am sure based on the positive reviews here that he is an excellent doctor. Unfortunately, despite showing up early for my appointment today, I never got to see him. I traveled an hour and a half on the recommendation of a respected area personal injury lawyer, who will be sure to hear this story, to see Dr Dickoff. I arrived a half an hour early for a 3:30 appointment to fill out any required paper work. Entering the office, I noticed the waiting room was almost completely full of patients who had seemed to be waiting a long time for their appointments, a bad omen. I filled out the paper work and watched as slowly, maybe every half hour (and I'm being generous), a new patient was called. I had noticed at check in that their appointments were written in as a 15 minute blocks in the secretaries check in sheet, another bad omen. At 5pm, 2 hours after I had arrived, there were still two patients ahead of me. At this point I ask the secretary how much longer it's going to be. Her response "well there's still two ahead of you so... at least an hour. The doctor really takes his time with patients" All I could say is "another hour for my 3:30 appointment?" Given that I had an hour and a half drive and a dog to take care of waiting at home, I could not stay for my appointment. Now, I can't criticize a doctor for taking time with patients because I think there are way too many that don't, but please, learn how to schedule! You are wasting peoples time and completely disrespecting them by not staying true to appointments! If you are aware that the doctor takes his time then schedule accordingly as it seems his workload is currently to heavy to be as attentive to each patient as he wants to be. It is honestly ridiculous and completely unprofessional. Signed a potential patient who was seeking help who will now find it elsewhere. read more

We had a FIVE HOUR wait for a 3:00 p.m. appointment. If my husband did not need the refill for his Parkinson's medication, we would certainly have left. He has no idea about how to schedule patients. We will NEVER use him again although he seems to know what he is doing. read more

Horrible experience with every visit. Expect a FOUR HOUR waiting room time at a minimum. Doctor's attitude with patients is inexcusable as he takes no time to listen, speaks over you, gets info wrong. As a result, prescribes meds you may have taken before that didn't work. If you call to speak with him, it is the norm for the call to be at the end of office hours, but again, he doesn't listen and hangs up before you get the opportunity to respond. Initial visit, there was a 1 hour wait, but Dr. was very friendly, and professional! Went back following week for a test scheduled for 9:30 am. Checked in at 9:15 am, and test was immediately administered. By 9:50 am, Dr. Dickoff had administered 2nd part of test and gone over the results. I walked out of his office beyond happy. Endlessly talking to my husband the whole ride home how great he was. No joke. An issue happened with insurance on a migraine medicine I needed. They needed an authorization from rhe doctor before they would release it. I have a bad migraine. 5 days so far. So my husband handle calling to tell his office and the receptionist was not nice at all. Said she might not be able to get to it today because she leaves at 2. It was only 11am. My husband stressed I need it for the mugraine and she got very arrogant. A couple of hours later, my husband called the insurance and explained situation. They released my medication but the doctor needed to authorize the next day. My husband called the next morning to give them the number to call to authorize. Again, very nasty. Then asked if the doctor could call us back because I had a question about the medication cause my head wasnt better at all. She said Well he is busy right now so he might not call you till maybe tomorrow night. He eventually called and when my husband explained about the receptionist, he went off on us saying that we werent even in the system yet and we are doubting what he prescribed. And he didnt appreciate my husband being the go around. He doesnt like go arounds. Wh...what? lol Long story shorter. Never in my freakin life have I EVER experienced a doctor with such lack of professionalism. DO NOT GO HERE!!! So now, head still hurts, still on meds for a few more days and have to find another doctor! read more

I agree with all previous comments. I usually don't post comments on line,but in this case I feel I have to warn the other potential patients. The Doctor is arrogant and doesn't listen to you. Misdiagnosed my relative with a disease just by looking at him. Very condescending attitude. Also put him on medicine for a 'disease' which he did NOT need. Really disappointed with this Doctor's lack of professionalism. read more

My mother sees Dr. Dickoff and I have taken her to several appointments. Though clearly overbooked and too busy, I found the office staff to be relatively friendly and helpful. We had a long wait, but when we finally saw the doctor his examination appeared thorough. He answered questions patiently and seemed genuinely interested in my Mom's wellbeing. read more
