Dr. Soliman is great, and kind, but I never know whether he's going to be there for my appointment or not! The staff will not call, or even tell you as you walk in whether the doctor is there! I have trouble walking, therefore, it's really annoying to have to reschedule! Call your insurance for your prior authorization as the staff will not do it. Wait time is long. read more

BEWARE!! When you call to make an appointment you will be told that Dr. Soliman is on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and if he is unable to show up for your visit you will see a nurse practitioner. I made it extremely clear that I expected to see Dr Soliman, a neurologist, and not a nurse practitioner. Sure enough, I take off work, I show up for my visit and Dr. Soliman had an emergency and that I could see the nurse practitioner. I refused and left the office. read more

Stay away if you don't want to waste your most valuable resource, time. I never got a chance to meet Dr. Solimon, but his staff is grossly negligent and incompetent. They did many things wrong 1) never contacted insurance company to request pre-authorization for procedure, 2) called 1 week before to tell me that the appt location changed but didn't mention they hadn't received pre authorization, 3) called at 4:19pm the evening before the appt to say they didn't have preauthorization, 4) allowed me to sign in for my appt and wait for close to 2 two hours before telling me I need to reschedule because we "didn't have an appt" (we made an appt 2 months prior while at the office in person on 9/26), 5) had no consideration for the fact my father has been in pain for months, 6) had no consideration for my time or my father's time. If you want the "summarized"version of the full story, see below. My father and I had an initial visit on 9/26. We were told an EMG test would help determine what's causing my father's nerve issues and constant discomfort. The earliest appt was 11/19 in the Yonkers location. A week before the appt I get a call saying the appt was moved to the New Rochelle office. Not convenient, but fine. The evening before the appt, at 4:19pm, I get a call saying they didn't have a pre-authorization for the test from the insurance company. I was never told the appt was canceled. I was just told insurance hadn't authorized yet. Our appt was for 12pm. I took the day off from work and my father kept his schedule clear to ensure we could be seen after an 8 week wait. 11:50am my father and I arrive, we sign in and take a seat. We are finally called at 1:30pm and told we don't have an appt and need to reschedule. How can I not have an appointment for an EMG test when I made the appointment in person on 9/26? Why would they cancel the appt and not even tell me? Why would they refuse to see my father who has been dealing with severe nerve issues for years and is desperate for help? The staff was negligent, they had the appt in their system and never reached out to insurance to request preauthorization. Why? And if you mess up, shouldn't you own it? No, they put it on me and told me I needed to contact the insurance company. I told the staff I didn't care if insurance wasn't going to cover, I had an appt and demanded to be seen. But no one cared. How unfortunate. Looking for a decent and responsible neurologist with competent staff. If anyone has a recommendation send it my way. read more

I used to see a Dr. at this practice who prescribed me strong medication without having full knowledge of the side effects. This doctor acted surprised when I later informed him of the litany of (alarming) side effects I was experiencing, which are also clearly listed as possible effects of the drug he had recommended for me. This drug seriously lowered my quality of life and I am still recovering from being on it close to a year later. I had not planned to return to this office, but sustained a head injury and wanted to have an evaluation. I figured it would be easier to be seen at an office I am already a patient at, and all I wanted was to procure a referral for MRI. When the nurse practitioner I saw read my C/T results, she said that modern technology is so accurate and provides such detailed pictures that it can cause unnecessary concerns. Apparently the possibility of having a cyst pushing on my brain is not concerning to this medical professional. She did make sure to ask if I need any updated prescriptions, though! How thoughtful. I am now in the market for a new neurology practice. read more

At first I was pleased that they could see a family member with in a couple of days of calling and explaining her condition. The administrative staff at the Westchester Neurological Consultants' Yonkers office is not very professional and respectful. You stand at the counter ignored without being greeted, then coldly asked do you have an appointment. Was refereed to for tests for follow up on a brain trauma injury and was assigned to a doctor Foster who specializes in migraine headaches and seemed not to have much experience with concussions. Strangely, some of the first words out of Dr Foster's mouth were that she would not do any reports for a legal process. We told her this exam had nothing to do with a legal claim and was requested by doctors caring for a family member. A brain wave test was ordered in the office about a month later and we were told by Dr. Foster St John's Hospital would be calling, but they would not get the previous results from the Westchester Medical Center five years ago. At the front desk we declined the brain wave test at Westchester Neurological Consultants, because we were uncomfortable with how the office was run and with Dr. Foster. We were told we could do the tests in another office they had, we again declined. When St. John's Hospital called a few weeks later we declined the test explaining the situation and saying we were going to get a referral to another Neurological practice. Westchester Neurological Consultants called telling us we had an appointment for the brain wave test, we explained that we did not want it and explained the above situation to hear the lady say she only worked there a few days a month. I assume Westchester Neurological Consultants gets a lot of emergency room referrals from the St. John's Hospital emergency room across street and that is why the administrative staff is not very professional and respectful. There also seems to be a desire to get patients into their office rapidly, even if they have to schedule a head trauma patient with a doctor who specializes in headaches. There seems to be a desire for profit from billing for tests, because if you cancel or decline a test, it is scheduled anyway and you are called and pressured to take the test. Sadly, my impression of Westchester Neurological Consultants was that they push profit above patient needs and comfort. read more

I'm giving this facility 1 star because -0 stars is not an option. The staff here is incompetent, racist, disrespectful, and will talk about you while you're sitting in the waiting area. They thought that by speaking spanish, I would not understand, well, they were wrong. And I made sure to tell them. I mean, I'm sure they get paid 15 dollars an hour so why would they dare act professionally? From the broken english, bitterness, hatred, ignorance, to their lack of civility. Wow.
