Karen D. Why are you you bringing a brand new/perfectly good boat/motor to a marina? The chain is full of sand/sediment that will get sucked up and will absolutely do damage to a motor. It may run but good luck. Anyway, had them tune a carb and detune my 2-stroke 15 years ago (due to the new at the time ethanol gas). My motor starts and runs like a champ to this day! Ray suggested de-tuning and I'm glad I did. Lot of motors went to hell from the alcohol. Highly recommend. I told them what I needed, they suggested some things, they did the work. I really like Dick's Marine. Dick has the best collection of parts - I've never gone there and left without my part. Nothing is more frustrating than having to special order parts or call several marinas to find the parts you need. That has never happened to me at Dick's. The mechanic is also very competent, he is extremely through and takes the extra step to get the job done right. read more

While some might have a little temper tantrum and give Dick's Marine Service 1 star, I will be honest in my review. Boat repairs are always expensive, hence B.O.A.T. ( bring out another thousand). Most boaters know this and aren't surprised and lash out. I have dealt with Dick and have nothing but good to say. He takes his time with each customer, giving them his full attention. Therefore, do not be in a rush when you get there, it might take some time. Dick is a nice warm person who tries to help everyone that comes into his shop. I have done business with Dick's Marine Service for almost 30 years and they always have done a great job for me. They always have had the parts I needed to get the boat back on the water! I will always continue to use them. You can tell so much about a person by how the dogs that are around act. The dogs are well behaved, which relates to the owners. read more

This place steals!!!! Bought a starter solenoid put it I. My boat starter keep spinning even when turned off engine had to pull battery cable. Bought a new solenoid put in worked great. Tried to return bad one to him he pulled out a meter and put it on smiled and said it works. Believe me it didn't work right!!!! He wouldn't take it back only had it 2 days. This is wow... just wow. I had a problem with an outboard motor on my fishing boat. I called and spoke with Dick, the owner, he said bring it in . Dropped off the boat on Monday 5/16/17 and he said he would look at it by the end of the week. He wanted a $240 deposit in case labor was to be done . I had asked this will go towards work to be done or refunded in full if no work was done .. Dick said yes. Called Thursday to check on the boat. He said no work had been done yet , he had another boat that he was waiting for a part , but he could look at mine for an extra charge to move the other boat out of the bay and move mine in. I asked extra charge for what, Dick said "time is money". I said I will pick the boat up in 30 minutes. He said ok, but there will be a charge of a 1/2 hour for our phone call. I arrived to pick up the boat and asked where in the labor contract or in the shop , he listed a charge for phone calls. He told me to "shut up" that I talk too much . Can't make this stuff up . I said I will dispute any charge . He then said there will be no charge, and for me just to leave. As I left , the mechanic, Josh stopped me to apologize for what had happened. He had no idea what was going on, but witnessed everything. Today , checked credit card , and wow , there was a charge for the full $240. No work done, no merchandise purchased. I''ve been using Dick's for over a dozen years. Old school, not slick, and a virtual museum for marine motors and parts. Dick is knowledgeable and Josh the mechanic has done wonders for my 40 year-old + Evinrude outboard. They have always struck me as very much committed to getting the job done right, with the customer's best interests at heart, as well as being fairly priced. Eccentric? Yes. I've heard of dicks marine from a couple people but I've never been there so I called them to see about getting a water pump changed in my boat the man tells me oh yeah I have openings right now give me a price tells me bring it in to have it done by the end of day. it's now a week later my boat hasn't been touched and I keep getting excuses as to why. dick does know his stuff about motors very informative but when it comes to customer service it's horrible he has a horrible attitude cusses and everything at customers it does not do work in the promised time needless to say I don't think I will be bringing my boat back here read more

The worst marina I have ever done business with, with the most unprofessional owner. I wouldn't trust this place to work on a shopping cart. Overcharges for work that isn't performed properly.
