After researching to find a walking shoe that wouldn't kill my toes and be comfortable, I went to Dick's on Coors. The shoe associate couldn't answer 1 of my questions, seemed to know nothing about their products, and kept looking up on a handheld , their stock on shoes "I" asked about telling me every time they were out of my size, a woman's 9??! Won't be back, I see their business model now "quantity not quality". Soooo , I went back to REI because they've never let me down. "Abel" was freaking amazing. I ended up trying the "Alta Sand W Olympus 6", zero drop shoes. Tried them today on a shorter walk-6miles uphill. No pain and my toes could spread out like they were designed to do. Just came to DICKS accompanying a last minute Christmas shopper (my partner). I was helping search for a very specific item/ brand/ color/ style. Unfortunately, we found the item in every size except for the specific one we needed. Then, along came Annette! I asked for her assistance and she went looking in the back and came back with extras to replenish the sizing. Except, I missed the update when my partner mentioned it was a different version of the item that we needed. Annette patiently went looking for the new item in the back. When Annette returned, she realized it was a slightly different variation than she had meant to grab. Gorgeous store, super organized and very well layed out. Asked about Merrell shoes for Women she pointed to the otherside of the wall, we finally found it and she said they had may, found 3pairs. They have such beautiful items but the employees seem down right miserable. It wasn't busy at all, we were almost the only ones there except for the "Loss Prevention Guy" who seemed to follow us around. Did finally find what we were looking for in the Mens section and the checkout Guy was disinterested to say the very least. Find some enthusiastic employees and get the word around and you would have a gem of a store that's very easily accessible and in a very good location. read more

I ordered 3 kids bikes from this store with free assembly. a couple days later one of the bikes on the order was cancelled with no explanation, so I had to spend an hour chatting with Dick's customer service to get the bike shipped and they would not honor the price that I originally paid, finally after pushing the issue they gave me a discount that got close enough to the original price. that bike they shipped to my house since they would not ship it to the store. the other 2 bikes were store pick up, they give you 4 days from when the bikes are ready for pick up to go get them, I was working overtime at work that week so I called before the 4 days and talked to a guy named Chance that said it would be fine to pick them up after the 4 days. I get an email and a text the 5th day saying that the bike order was canceled. so my wife called and talked to a customer service person that stated the bike order was reinstated or something along those lines. I call a couple days later to see if the bikes are ready for pick up and they say they are ready for me. I go into the store to pick up the bikes. They are looking around the store like they don't know what I'm talking about after talking to two different young guys. (I have my order number this whole time and tell them) The manager comes and acts as if I'm trying to scam her out of those bikes. So apparently what happened is they were holding the bikes for me, but that order was never reinstated instead of just saying that my card was never charged. She treats me like some con artist. I will never shop at Dick's again and I will turn as many people as I can from using this extremely incompetent company. read more

I come to Dick's alllll the time, actually it was the first store I went to when phase 1 of the pandemic opened. I picked up a few things as I WAS going to come back with my family. I get to the register and they are NOT honoring coupons that are expired during the stay at home, which started I believe March 15. My coupon expired March 31. I had other coupons ( because I come here all the time) but that's not the point. Shame on the manager. read more

This has becim my sports apparel destination as of late. They always have ample stock of sizes and colors and have a decent rewards program. Overall there prices are a little higher than their competition but a price you have to pay for the latest and greatest products. If you take time to walk the store you can find little pockets of great sales and clearance items. The staff seem eager to help and seem to be right there when you need without the hovering or stalking experience. Would definitely recommend this location as a good sporting goods destination. In purchasing a bike for my grandson for Christmas I ended up dealing with 4 different Dick's stores and encountered various problems along the way, in particular promises of delivery that didn't come through. When I finally started dealing with this store, the Cottonwood location in Albuquerque, the service was excellent, particularly the manager, Rosalyn. I felt she went above and beyond good customer service to make sure we got the bike we had ordered in time for Christmas. I see there are many poor reviews for this company. Its too bad all the stores don't have the caring employees this store does. I'm sure it would make a difference. read more

Dick's Sporting Goods has a decent selection, nice employees, very clean and modern. My issue is they are a bit pricey. I find the items I buy are about 15-20% higher than comparable items elsewhere. They do offer discounts, a buyer's club option, etc. So I guess if you take advantage of sales and the buyer's club the high prices can be offset to a degree. read more
