The kid's section is larger than I was expecting. There is a smallish shoe selection in the far corner, near the registers. Some prices were great, other not so much. For the most part, the store was well kept. A few areas were hard to navigate with a stroller. There wasn't much in the way of customer service. The only employee I interacted with was the cashier. He was fine. If you are a fan of the Columbia brand, there is a much larger selection here than at any outdoor or department store.

The annoying thing was, she could not automatically tell from scanning my receipt how much of my order was paid for by gift card, and how much was from credit. She had to call the 1800 customer service, so the process took a bit longer. All in all it turned out fine and was resolved. Cant say anyone was overly friendly. The cashier has not taken off the EAS security tag off our purchase, and it buzzed at the exit. Another store associate dashed after us (we are both seniors), she stopped us in the bitter cold wind and started digging in our paper bag. Then, she turned her back to us and ran somewhere back into the store without talking to us. We were overwhelmed and had to follow her running and maneuvering between the store racks and shelves. While the manager was removing the security tag off our purchase, she said, "Good job" to this store associate. And merely dropped sorry to us. Is that what they consider a "good job" at LLBean's these days? Horrible, awful experience. No manners whatsoever. These rude people have ruined our day, our Birthday spirit, and our holiday. Absolutely blown away with the customer service we received from Stacy on 09/09. She could have…read moregrabbed some cleats and walked off to take care of other things. Instead, she took almost an hour out of her day to ensure my daughter received the perfect cleats for her feet. The level of passion that she has for her job and for helping players find the exact tools they need reminded me of going shopping for camping gear with my dad as a kid, and the kind gentlemen that would gladly and enthusiastically talk to you for hours about every item on the shelf (and a few more that aren't). My dad used to take me there as a kid in the 90's, and I will gladly continue to drive past the big box store to get to Soccer Village precisely because you will never find this level of care and product knowledge anywhere else.
