My partner doesn't always love trying on shoes but I find it's the best way to get proper fitting shoes for him. We tried on a few as the new version of his current pair no longer fit so well. 2 team members went to the back at the same time. I could hear one of them very clearly say jeez thanks for taking them they're a handful laughing. I mean if you're going to talk about clients at least do it quietly. Just because I can't see you doesn't mean I can't hear you. The person getting the different shoes wasn't even asking any follow up questions about how does this feel or any follow up to help facilitate finding the right fit. I bought the damn shoes because my husband needed them and I shouldn't have. Nordstrom is far and I hate the parking but at least they value their customers. For years, my family, friends, and I have been fiercely loyal to Dick's Sporting Goods. Whenever it came to sports items or fishing gear, I never even bothered checking other websites or competitors; I always went straight to Dick's and proudly recommended them to everyone. That loyalty ends today. Last night, I went to return a pair of shoes. Yes, it was past the 90-day window, but the shoes were completely unworn with the tags still attached. Any reputable store would, at the very least, offer store credit as a gesture of goodwill. Instead, Dick's policy is to buy it back at the lowest possible selling price, which feels like a complete rip-off and a scam to steal customers' money. To make matters worse, the store manager's behavior was incredibly rude, dismissive, and utterly unprofessional. Shocked by this treatment, I called their Customer Service line, expecting them to de-escalate the situation or at least apologize for the manager's misbehavior. Instead, the representative was completely useless. They didn't even care to ask which specific store location this happened at, offered zero help, and didn't even bother to apologize. This is, hands down, the absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life in the United States. The silver lining? I also bought two pairs of shoes directly from the brand "On" last night. Due to this awful experience, I am returning the shoes I bought at Dick's, and I contacted "On's" customer service instead. "On" handled my situation beautifully, professionally, and resolved my issue with ease. My advice to everyone: If you want to buy sports gear, go directly to the brand's own website or store. Dick's doesn't give you any special discounts, their return policy for unworn items is a joke, and they treat loyal customers like garbage. Single player here and not looking to join a league, but let me share my experience with this store. Jim and Mike were working. I had already had a price in my head with what I wanted to spend. They offer a package deal for around $170, but because I wanted a little better ball, I was able to upgrade for a little more. My finger measurements were accurate, I was in and out in less than an hour. But I really enjoyed talking to these two gentlemen. They aren't trying to upsell you with stuff you don't need. They have a passion for bowling and it shows. If you think you can get a better deal on Amazon, you are wrong. You won't get the service that you would at the store. You would still have to bring your ball in for them to drill, so whatever you think you saved, you would actually he in the negative with all costs combined. This store has everything a bowler needs! Not to mention the experience and dedication that Jim and Mike showed me. There is a reason customers make long drives to come here. They offer great hours and are usually closed only on Sundays, but check for holidays as they might close also. The only small downside is the parking lot is tight and not a lot of spots, but with the service, who cares? Another small thing, they didn't send me home with a shoe box, a bowling bowl box and the bowling bag wasn't in plastic.
