I love shopping local and Sport Fair is a really special store. As a swimmer growing up I always wanted to see items before I purchased them, and this is the first time in my life--of course well after my own swim "career" has ended--that I can. My kids will never know how lucky they are, ha ha! Sport Fair has just about everything except Tyr. I miss that brand but I love Speedo and Arena products just as much. The amount of stock is amazing, and the accoutrements are all there from special towels and goggles to training aids and drag suits. They might not carry every specialty item you dream of, but they carry a reasonable facsimile and as I like to say, all you need to do swimming is a suit and goggles. All that other stuff is just other stuff you gotta keep up with! I've ordered branded swim caps through Sport Fair and have been really happy with the quality. I've purchased training suits for me (the giant drag suits), goggles, swim caps, and suits for my kids. In particular I was thrilled to get toddler size speedo suits for my daughters so they don't have to wear Target bargains. If you want your kid to learn to swim, they have to enjoy it and being dragged to the bottom by a stupid tutu or other absurd sexist decoration on a toddler suit from target is not my idea of fun! So not only have I thought the suits from here to be more fun for my kids, but safer, too. Really pleased to have this gem in our community. read more

I have always had very helpful customer service in getting products such as swim goggles and outfits for performance and durability. It really helps when making purchases of equipment, to have people who know the different brands, qualities and fit especially for goggles. I'e had very helpful and sweet staff effectively steer me to the best fits for my goggle needs. They carry Nike and other brands, but not TYR. *I've never missed TYR though. Their swim suits are usually sporty and rather high cut so if you are into a more modest cut go for the catalogs (L.L. Bean etc.) I'm loving this local store for accessibility and customer service. This shop is a drive for me but worth the trip. The staff at this shop was very helpful and I trusted their expertise in shopping and fitting my daughter for her kneeskin. As customers walked in, they were greeted and immediately asked about their needs. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and able to "eye" the swimsuit size. They have a great selection of swimsuits and a plus for me was the large clearance section. They have a great variety of goggles for training and competition. Along with goggles they have the accessories needed for swim practices for year round swimming. I would definitely make the trip and return when needed. read more

Not a whole lot I can say about Sport Fair that hasn't been covered by the other two reviewers. It's a swimmer's wet dream. Get it? Get it? This is husband's go-to spot for top-of-the-line swim gear. He was a competitive swimmer growing up, coached a high school swim team for a few years, and likes to keep in shape with pool workouts now. Apparently Sport Fair is where "real" swimmers shop; it has everything he needs to be cool in the pool. And I can look at suits and fantasize about summer and tanning and piña coladas. Not to mention It's nice to support an independent store, too. Yup, while husband swims and cycles his way into a long and healthy life, I eat and Yelp. When I was a competitive swimmer- this was the place to go for anything related to swimming. Has a decent selection of suits, as well as accessories- caps, goggles, and even just general pool related items. Dressing rooms are available and the staff is generally helpful and friendly. read more

This place was so frustrating. It was packed with customers with only 1 person helping at the register and no ability to determine if anyone else worked there. I was hoping to buy several suits for my kids and needed sizing help and after waiting 30 minutes trying to figure out who worked there and feeling completely invisible gave up and walked out - will never return! read more

Service was great. Sales staff were knowledgeable and helpful. No rush and no attitude. Selection was wide and varied, although I would have liked to have seen some TYR swim attire. Location is kind of hard unless you are traveling slow on Lee HWY. It's easy to miss, but once you get there, the parking is decent. I patron this place because it's a good store, and I like supporting local businesses. Since it's a family and local business that explains why the service is decent. My experience is that family and local run businesses are better suited for good customer relations. After reading the other reviews, it explains why the place is run with staffers who know their stuff. Unfortunately, the trend is to "go China" on everything meaning callousness's, lousy service, cheap crap, etc. So, once again I don't mind spending my hard earn cash on this place to supply my swimming needs - and I'm not doing this out of charity, they really deserve the clientele. read more

I was in DC on business a few months back and had to get a gift for my sister who swims. I don't really know anything about swimming, so I just sort of walked in. Speaking as a guy who knows nothing, these guys know everything. They asked me all about my sister and what kind of swimming she does and whatnot. I didn't even know there were different kinds. The girl who helped me was really nice and we talked for a while and all. I ended up picking my sister a couple pair of goggles, which she really liked and is still using. I wasn't going to try to buy a lady a bathing suit sight unseen because I figured I'd get the size all wrong, but if I had wanted to I probably could have done it there. They had a lot of different stuff for swimming, all kinds of bathing suits and such. If I was a swimmer who lived in the area I would definitely go back. I will say that I was glad I rented a car. It's really too far from the subway to go without a car. read more

Amazing place for all the swimming needs. They have everything and if they don't have it, just ask. They'll either get it for you or tell you where to go. They fitted my daughter just right for a LZR X suit. She just wasn't the kid, but the customer. They let her take her time with no rush. We end up staying for 2 hours before we knew what time it was. Bought my daughter's racing suit for her championship meets here. They let you try them on and their sales staff checks the fit and sizing of the suit to ensure there won't be any issues come race day. I was very appreciative of the helpfulness and patience of the staff. I'll be back! read more

My wife returned swim fins, and the customer service was top notch. No questions asked. The sales reps have all been friendly and happy to see us whether we are buying something from them or not. A few minutes later we went to ayers hardware to return grass shears because we needed longer handles, and we were treated like criminals who deliberately are trying to put them out of business by returning items we bought from them that are damaging to my wife's back. read more

Went to try on a suit for sizing and while one worker was trying to help me, the older one told him (in front of me!) not to "encourage" it since they weren't sure if they had the suit I needed. Outstanding location for specialty swim items. They have a full selection of goggle lenses for people who wear prescription lenses and are satisfied with a $25 goggle close to their prescription instead of ordering a $300 custom prescription set. One pair of goggles broke after second use and they replaced without question. read more
