Nice new store here in Fremont but Horrible customer service. I went there on Tuesday afternoon 2/3/2014 looking to buy some Remington shotgun shells they advertised for sale on Sunday 2/1/14. First, the automated front door was jammed so another customer was standing there trying to get in when I arrived. An employee came over and forced the door open so we could enter. I go to the sporting goods department but find no Remington shells. No sales people around so I push the buzzer on the counter for assistance. A kid named Barrett Pepe comes out so I ask him where are the Remington shells that are on sale. He says they are sold out. (2 days after the ad). I say o.k. then can I have a rain check since I've seen these in stock there before so they are not a special purchase. He tells me no. I ask him if I can purchase a substitute comparable item, (which they do have) and he says no. I ask to speak with the dept manager. He says he is the manager. Ouch. So I proceed to the front of the store and ask a nice young lady at the checkout area to speak with the Store Manager. She proceeds to page the same Barrett Pepe I just spoke with. I tell her that I already spoke with him and he was no help to me. I want to speak with the Store Manager. She says he just left . I ask her left where? She says he Quit and left the store. Bingo...even the store manager got so disgusted with Dicks that he quit and left. After today I went online to check out other people's experience with Dicks all over the country and there is one common and majority opinion and that is that Dicks customer service is HORRIBLE and more people dislike Dicks than like it. I for one will never again shop at Dicks because of their no rain check policy and their everyday prices are too high as well. I went here (for the first time) to look at their golf apparel selection as I am avid golfer. As an avid golfer, I'm always looking at new clubs and tinkering with equipment. Anyways, I pull a putter to try out on their practice green and I'm approached by a sales associate named "Guy" who tells me "if you're going to play around, please use the ones in this bag" which are cheap putters. I'm bewildered and just go about my business. But he stays and says "C'mon, are you going to put the putter back?" So I ask him "Do you think I'm not a golfer?" He says, "No, you don't look like one." I respond "What does a golfer look like to you"?" He doesn't know what to say. I could not believe that this guy (no pun intended) thinks I'm not a golfer based on how I'm dressed. I highly doubt people who are into or play sports come dressed as if they're about to play. The customer service here is horrible. I've got a cart of merchandise, I've been sitting in the bicycle department waiting for someone to be able to help with purchasing two new bicycles for my son and I. I'm calculating a $700+ purchase being abandoned because one employee snapped her tongue and rolled her eyes when my son approached her looking for assistance. Also for the gentlemen who finally showed up with an air of not wanting to be there. I'm not sure if asking for customer service in a Dick's store is asking too much, but I won't do it again. I was on a mission to get all the Warriors attire for about 15 people. It started getting really busy and I was about to drive to other locations because I couldn't find kids size 8 and other attires. I didn't get the name of the worker who was on the floor but she knew exactly where to find the kids locker room size 8 shirts in grey for kids. It was in a box ready to restock. I searched for at least 3 hours. As I was in line the employee name Chris was very helpful in assisting me with getting all the other incomplete attire for adults. Jessica was the first cashier who patiently rung up 3 transactions for me separately. I needed to make one more transaction so I went back in line - Chris and Kathryn both helped me at the cashier. Keep in mind. I purchased for two full houses. All these employees had so much patience with me and my demands in making sure I would leave the store with everything I needed. It was near impossible with everyone grabbing everything so fast. By the end of the day, I spent almost a gran or a little more. I was satisfied and very happy! I didn't have to drive to other locations after all This IS THE LOCATION to SHOP @ Fremont!!!!! Excellent customer service, friendly people, and very helpful!!! I Had did an online order for curbside pick up. Due to the coronavirus that's all they doo according to the website that's fine but then I never get an email to pick up I show up no one will go to the door to at least answer my questions. I called the store after finally getting through customer service. Customer service told me they should have answered and they should be doing curbside pick up. But when I got through to an associate at the store they told me that they were not doing curbside and I had to cancel with customer service. I chated with customer service and they told me that they were doing it I explained to them thats what the associate told me. They said that must be an understanding and that my order will be ready for tomorrow morning which I call bs. I then asked customer service to cancel the order they said they can not because it's in process. Wtf process they are not doing curbside pick up according to the associates. Now I have to wait till the hold is lifted off my card witch is 4 days because according to customer service that's the only way to avoid the charge. When all I wanted was a fishing rod and line. If it wasn't for Guy the person in charge of the section.He was determined to make sure I went home with the correct product. He certainly went above and beyond till I was satisfied. Is it called Dick's sporting Goods because the sales people are d*** to their customers??? We came in at 3pm on a Sunday and the store isn't too busy. After 5 minutes of looking for a sales person we finally find someone who could not be less interested in helping us. He said he was busy helping someone else and had to do a bunch of other things and said he'll come to find us when he's done, which could take who knows how long. So we find another sales associate who says he doesn't usually work in this section but he's willing to help us. We obviously asked for help because we are unable to find the product on the shelves and he continues to spend 5 minutes looking on the shelves. I asked him if they had it in the back and he said all of our product is out on the sales floor. I've worked in retail. I know "everything we have is on the sales floor" means you do not want to waste your time to look for it in the back. Obviously if it says the shoe is in stock online and it isn't on the sales floor, it is in the back. Anyways, we settle with another pair of shoes and as we are about to leave, the original guy who was supposed to help us out straight looks at me and walks away as if he "forgot" we needed help. This was the most disrespectful. He assured me that he would come find me when he was done with his other customers and help us out and he looked at me and walked away. Talk about great customer service! In conclusion, staff is beyond rude considering I'm spending good money at this store and if management is reading this, I hope you train your staff and teach them about good customer service. read more

This place has great inventory and is really nicely setup, but you get the feeling that you are inconveniencing their sales people when you ask any questions. You get this vibe that they don't want to be there. Plus most of the time there is no one to ask questions and when you find someone, they are uninterested, unfriendly and lack knowledge of their products or what they have in inventory. This review goes out to Quy and the Gentleman in the back counter that helped us spin new fishing line on both our new Reels, got there very close to closing time but they didn't turn us away even though they were already halfway with finishing closing up the store. Great store but I never felt so watched in a store before. I went with my boyfriend to look at some 49er stuff and while we was looking and tryin on clothes in the mirror the associates and mangers kept coming around just hanging out by us watching us every 5mins we would get asked if we needed anything. While they was just there standing right next to us the whole time. It was very annoying I felt like I was doing something bad I felt very uncomfortable. The worst customer service!! I ordered online for a store pickup. I placed the order at 2:30PM. I went into the Fremont store on Pacific Commons where I had placed the order. I went in at 6:45PM. After asking the front desk, they said it was not placed and asked if I got my email confirmation. My email confirmation I brought with me was the one that came right away after I placed the order. It was a confirmation of the order. But it was not the email that says it is ready. I looked at my email and it still was not there. They told me to wait. About 20 minutes later, this "manager" looking guy in a red polo shirt came up with my item and brought with him a team of younger workers. He handed me the item and he said right away was "here is your order. Next time wait for the email". Like it was MY fault! I asked how long does it take to process. He said 30minutes to 1 hour. I told him it was 4 hours ago. He said "well...sometimes we get busy. next time wait for the email". Again, like it was MY fault?? I began to check my item and he said "I checked it already". I said I just want to check to make sure it is correct. He said it again: "I checked it already". Then walked off with his team. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? This so called manager acted exactly like what the store name is. He is a 20's chubby Caucasian male. Dicks better do better training managers and staff otherwise customers will stop coming. By the way, I got my email "ready when you are" at 6:58PM. AFTER I got my item. The next email was at 7:04 that said "thank you for picking up your order". Stopped by here to look at some tents. There was an 8 1/2 x 11" sign stating "ALL TENTS 20% OFF". We took a $99 Coleman 6 person tent to the cashier for purchase. The tent came up at full price. We told her about the 20% off and she said "Oh, I don't know" and proceeded to stare at us. She finally called someone on her walkie talkie. He came up to the front and said that you had to read the small line at the bottom which referred to a different brand of tents. The sign said "ALL TENT" in big letters. It was placed on the top shelf. How were we supposed to see the fine print? They were unprofessional in dealing with us and in their attitudes. I usually give a business three visits before I stop going there but they just don't seem interested in supporting the customer or even pretending that they care what we think or how we feel when we walk out their door. We bought a bag for $50 and we had a coupon of $10 .the lady at the billing said she applied the coupon which she didn't and sent the bill to email so we don't check it immediately as it is Sunday and store is about to close.
