I wanted to pickup some Niner Faithful NFC Champion items before Superbowl Sunday. After finding this more challenging than it should be in the Bay Area, I was resigned to driving to Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, but decided to take "a shot in the dark" and give Dick's a try! Eureka! I knew I had been successful when I saw the sign over the store's main entrance, "The Quest for Six!," a not so subtle reference to Super Bowl LIV (54) in Miami being the 49ers opportunity to pick up their sixth Lombardi Trophy next weekend! Additional signage at the front door read, "Fight for the Faithful. Get your Great here" and "Go SF" reinforced I had come to the right place!

I was rolling around Pacific Commons in my UC Whip when I saw Dicks Sporting Goods . I had never been to a Dicks Sporting Goods so I parked my Whip in their large parking lot . I rolled in and I was quite impressed . Dicks is a Monster Sporting Good Store . The place is Huge !!! I like that they actually have a Gun section unfortunately they only have Rifles and Shotguns . They also have an Archery section . The Fishing section is quite large and they have a good selection of Fishing Poles and a multitude of Brands and Accessories . Dicks has got anything you could want for your Fitness or Outdoor needs . Check them out.

Went to check out Dick's Sporting Goods in Fremont, it's next to Century Theater in Pacific Commons. Why we need another sporting goods store I don't know - we already have Sports Authority and REI. I didn't find another I really needed, just looked around. Coloman propane fule $3.59/can Biodegradable camp soap $3.99 Camp Towel $4.99 Wigwam hiking socks $12.99 There's lots of Team sports wear like caps, shirts, jerseys. They have a running track area so you can run with new shoes on. A wall of baseball caps. I might check it out again with coupons, otherwise meh to me.

We are still waiting, it's been 35 minutes. The one person who knows how to do fishing licenses is jerking off in the back room.

Terrible service. A huge line on New Years Day, and many associates walking around while there is only one register open. One! Ridiculous

Zero stars for a store can't keep it promise on advertisement. The service was ok, but I'm not coming back again.

I first noticed this Columbia Sportswear Store a couple of years ago. I was pretty stoked as it was…read morein my area and being an avid outdoors person, I've often owned/used Columbia gear. But then I go to find out that it is not a store open to the public. *Unstoked*. But rather this is a Company Employee Store. Meaning a company or place of employment has to sign up with them (not really sure what that entails), then with a code/invite, the employees of said company can now enter the store and shop to one's content. I go to find out that my work gets involved in this annually, so I finally get a chance to scope it out. You have to bring the invite (a flyer for us with a code) and some proof of employment (a work badge for me). It is kind of a run-around but there is a benefit to all this. There are 3 glaring benefits from my perspective. 1. Being invite only and not open to the general public, the place is not crowded and cluttered. Very clean racks and displays. 2. Lots of legit inventory, so not a mish-mash of odd sizes and discontinued styles like factory stores. Felt like a kid in a candy store. Quite organized too, easy to find designated sections. 3. There are perceived deals/values here. Now I will point out that the brands sold here ie Columbia, Prana, Sorel etc are premium brand names and are usually not cheap. I actually find a full priced item to be borderline insane/expensive. Any Columbia gear I own are either gifts or things I got on some sort of sale/discount. Here at this store everything inside is 40% off (taken at the register). And even some items with certain highlighted tags, may be discounted even further to say 50-60%. A much better deal considering the quality. And after I went through their register to complete my sale, I was given another pass (good for 3 other guest too) to shop within the next 30 days. And there was a coupon attached where $20 can be taken off if spending reaches $100 (pretty darn easy to do). So another 20% off. They know how to market cuz ya know I want to come back for that. All things I restrained myself from getting on this last trip...will just wait til the next out. Bet!

No pictures to share but I absolutely loved my time in here. Like other reviewers have said, this…read morestore is amazing in that if they could model how stores should look when shopping this should be it. It's well thought out, organized, fully stocked and not so big that you can get overwhelmed. Ok maybe I'm lying. I did get overhwhelmed but only because there were so many things that I wanted to buy! I didn't see one item of clothing that was not on a hanger or fallen off a rack. There was barely anyone there on a Saturday and it almost felt like we had the whole store to ourselves. All of the merchandise is current season and the prices could not be beat. 40% off everything is a shopper's dream come true. Add in the sale sections which were an additional discount and you couldn't ask for more. Others have mentioned being able to do catalog shopping while here, but we didn't have a need to do that since everything we wanted they had in stock. Sale sections are clearly marked and employees are easy to be found throughout the store to help you. I came out with a haul of items from Colombia, Prana, and Mountain Hardware. If you want another invite into the store, you can either spend $500 OR take the survey on the receipt which will give you an additional 10% off for your next visit. The 10% off doesn't expire so come back anytime. Will definitely do that.

Yesterday, my wife and I visited REI in Sunnyvale so that my wife could try on various shoes and…read morepurchase what she preferred. Although staff was helpful to her in her search for shoes, what made the entire experience terrible was how hard staff pushed us toward purchasing a membership. One staff member assisting my wife initially had done the sales pitch, and we listened willingly. Later on, another person gave the same sales pitch to my wife, and she kindly told her that she's already been told about the membership. When we went to the check-out counter, the person at the counter started giving the same sales pitch about the membership. I immediately cut her off, my wife told her that she has already been told about it, and I said "no thank you." The person at the counter again tried to give the pitch, and I cut her off again and said "no thank you." For a third time, she tried to resume the sales pitch. I got ticked and gave her a stern response: "NO PLEASE!" She finally stopped. That entire experience left a bad impression on me, and I wasn't sure if this type of thing was specific to just the REI in Sunnyvale (I normally don't shop at REI). So I did some research online and found out that this type of thing happens commonly among various REI stores. I even found an online article from 2015 that talked about this, even citing the CEO of REI who gave a response regarding this matter of pushing memberships. He came across as being understanding of this matter. But that was back in 2015. it's now 2026, and obviously nothing has changed relating to this. I'm not returning to REI after what I experienced yesterday. They've lost any potential future business from me. If they can't accept an initial "no" answer and thus continue to push the sale of a membership, they've lost my respect and my business. And should anyone from REI choose to respond to this post, it's not changing anything from me relating to REI.

I use to love REI when the Mountain View store was still open. San Carlos isn't half bad either,…read morealthough it has deteriorated in service in recent years. But Sunnyvale has offered the worst in-store service of any business in the local vicinity since the day it opened. Right now, as I type this review, two customers have left the checkout queue (so far) because they are fed up waiting. Three cashiers for a mile-long line. One has been on the phone for a half hour. One disappeared for a while and came back finally. Another took her sweet time reassembling returned merchandise and hasn't checked out anyone for 20 minutes. Staff can't call anyone here to help.
