Worst customer service I have ever experienced Anywhere and by multiple store employees. Lack of products (skates 12 boxes total, only 1 of those was not inline). After tracking down (in a completely dead store) the employee for that dept I was told I would need to buy them online. These are for my granddaughters who are in for summer vacay, so I asked if he could measure them so I would know what size to order. He was clueless and said I should ask the shoe dept employee. Although Highly annoyed at his lack of intelligence in any capacity of his job, we also needed to get them some new Nike's so headed to the shoe dept. AGAIN had to track down (in a Still Dead store) an employee to help us. This person also had no idea how to figure out what size in skates they would need and suggested I ask in the skate department. GRRR. Then this same employee acted completely annoyed that the girls had pick out 3 different pairs of shoes to try on. My poor 9yr old granddaughter told me SHE was sorry if She made him mad. Can you believe that?? Made my blood boil. He brings the shoes back and just hands them to us and is gone in a flash. I had actually wanted to get the cheaper $100 ones for them to have as play shoes and was considering the $200 pairs for their school but Guess What?? There was No Employee in sight to answer questions about the more expensive ones and I refused to chase down another lazy, knowledgeable employee to spend another dime in DICK'S ever again. SO this was my first and last visit. I the girls werent so happy with the few items they chose I would have put it all back and not spent a single penny. In the end::I will go out of my way to tell everyone to avoid this place. And they could have made almost $1000 off of us instead of just a few hundred and Could have had a new customer with glowing reviews INSTEAD All I can say is RUN Far Far Far Far away from this place. read more

Customer service in the shoe department was terrible. Went to buy some baseball turfs for my son. I checked online and it said they had the size he wears. I stood in from of the shoes for several minutes without being approached. I then scanned the shoe at the self service kiosk they have and requested the shoes to be brought out. After waiting several more minutes without service, I walked to the center of the department seeing 4 associates standing around, one of them leaning on the podium. I asked the sales associate if the kiosk even works and he told me "sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't." He then went to the back, came back out and told me nope we don't have them. The next day I went to the Mesquite store, where an associate wearing a new employee badge was more than helpful. I guess gone are the days when you can expect something as small as a simple greeting. read more

We are loyal customers here, and we have had and awful experience today. We came in wanting to buy 3 pairs of shoes. Three different times there was not 1 salesperson in the shoe department. I had to walk up to the customer service desk to ask for help, and another time I had to find a manager. The manager called and asked for the salespeople to go to the shoe department. I still waited, and I had to ask the same manager again for help. After all of that, they only had 1 size that we needed. I hate that we had this negative experience because this has always been our go-to store for athletic wear & shoes. read more

Beware when ordering online for store pick up!! They let a random person pick up my order WITHOUT my authorization after this person somehow got a hold of my first and last name and claimed to be my friend and they were going to be the one picking up the order. When ordering it says you have to show your ID at pickup and it has to be the person who placed the order but clearly that isn't being followed. I didn't even get a call asking me if it was okay if said person picked it up for me(which i would have said no because i have no idea who this person is), The managers were very nice which is the only reason this is 2 stars, they gave me a new item but i will 100% not be ordering from here again. read more

I could not be more disgusted than I am right. Part of my New Year's resolution required me to pick up a few things for my workouts. Since the biking items are upstairs, I opted to pay upstairs at most convenient location. Since I am not a frequent shopper at Fire wheel I got turned around and almost excited the wrong exit. I tired around to see the manager upstairs following me. He then proceeded to walk to front door and stand by the exit as I exited. I felt so horrible to know this young man thought I was stealing and furthermore to follow me to the exit. How absolutely disgusting. It is Jan 3 2023 around 1pm. I plan to call the store and file an official complaint. If the stock market wasn't shot I would sell all of my stocks! Such a horrible experience. I ordered an item online for in store pickup, it said fast and easy. I've done this at other stores, no problem. Main reasons for this was 1) I had my kids with me 2) We had plans Sunday night 3) Typically saves me money bc no impulse buying. What I didn't bargain for was standing at customer service for 20+ minutes before I was even acknowledged. When I walked in there was 1 person behind customer service counter and 1 cashier. I scanned my barcode, then the person at customer service didn't even acknowledge I was there and walked off! 20 minutes, a cashier change out and I'm seeing numerous employees walking around. No one helped me. I literally had to push the "help" button 5x before the second cashier realized I needed help. Most frustrating waste of my time. I've never been a fan of Dick's but after that no way will I shop here. read more

This location is HORRIBLE!! We purchased bikes from DSG and my husband rides his bike pretty much every day. Recently, my husband brought his bike in for a wobbly tire and noise. They called to say it had been repaired, however, when we arrived to pick it up the tire still wobbled and the noise was still present. They have had this bike for over a week. Not HAPPY!! read more

I can't give more than 1 star if you have a store that is 1 million square feet & only have one register open for customer service & purchases. I had to wait easily an extra 20 minutes based on people doing returns in front of me & not having another option to go to a register for purchases only. A ton of employees walking around I'm sure doing all sorts of tasks instead of doing the most important which is ringing up customers & collecting revenue for the company. I normally only go to Dick's to look at the Under Armour selection on the first floor of the store. It is the area between the escalators. During this last trip I found myself upstairs looking at shirts that were upstairs close to where the hunting clothes items are located. I found some additional Under Armour shirts that were more related to hunting and some that were related to military organizations. As I was browsing through the shirts an associate came up to me and asked if I needed help with anything. I told him I was good for now. He said his name was Tyler and if I needed anything just let him know. I thanked him for asking and let him know I was good. I've always known that Dick's had an area where they have some ammo and a few rifles. This is in the same part of the store where the hunting and fishing gear is located. As an avid shooter I thought I'd browse around to see if they had any good deals on ammunition. As I walked over to the area where the ammo and rifles were I noticed that there were several showcases full of handguns. They also had a much bigger selection of rifles and ammo than what I remembered. As I walked up to the showcases I was met again by Tyler who greeted me with a welcoming smile and asked if I would like to see anything. I was really surprised by the selection of handguns in the showcases. As I looked through the glass at the selection I asked to see a few of the handguns. Tyler was very accommodating as one gun turned into two, and then three. All along Tyler did a fantastic job telling me about each handgun. I'm sure I was driving him crazy with all of my questions. Tyler seemed very happy to help me with each handgun I asked about. The prices of the guns were on par with other stores I have shopped at recently. After looking at the handguns I turned my attention to the ammo selection. Again Tyler asked me if I needed any help and I told him I was good. The amount of attention I received from Tyler was great. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about everything I asked to see or questions I had as we spoke. He also showed a lot of patience as I looked at the different guns. This is not the kind of attention you normally receive at big sporting goods stores. It was very refreshing to be able to talk with someone that truly wanted to help me. I just feel bad because I didn't buy anything, although the next time I'm in the market for a new firearm I'm going to Dick's first! read more

I walked in to stick with you for golf apparel, and after I sell what I want it that happened to be on the clearance rack. Along with 10 other of the exact same shorts I went to check out. While trying to check out I was told the shorts were not on clearance. Which I told him where I had got them, and they went to check. This was the first time anyone tried to help me in the store. Great selection and service. I stopped in yesterday because my sister wanted Nike shorts to wear for her summer dance classes. We had looked a few other places but couldn't find any in womens size extra small (we should all be so lucky to have this problem, right?) Dick's is clean and well organized. The staff was more than willing to help us to find what we were looking for and overall the prices were very reasonable. I also noticed they carry Soffe and several other less expensive brands. They also had a great selection of Texas Rangers gear in Youth sizes so my nephew wound up walking out with a new t-shirt too. I definitely will be back. read more

OK, so this store has a wide selection of sporting goods to meet your needs, however their employees are not always very knowledgeable. I have two different people give me conflicting information and it turns out both of them were wrong. Then I went and bought my daughter a bike here and the person helping me did not even work in the bike department. He sent me home with a bike that later that day the handle bars came off while my daughter was riding it!! I had to take the bike back up to the store and have the bike tech put it back together. Trying to get fitted for football helmet, pads etc. Asked one associate if they measured and if so, could she get someone to measure, sure she said. 10 minutes later still sitting/waiting. Another associate walks by and we ask him, were you sent over to measure, uh no but I can. Sweet, he walks off without a word, not let me go get the measuring tape or the book I need to reference. Just walks off. We sit for another 5-7 mins, he comes back with what appears to be the items necessary to measure. As he walks by he's on the walkie talkie explaining whatever. Never stopping and saying I'll be right back let me take care of "xyz". Instead he stops to answer another customers question. Really??!!! I use to love dicks sporting stores but my experience tonight will make me think long and hard before coming back. First I went in for shoes for my daughter. I asked the guy in the shoes if he would measure her foot and he proceeded to hand me the measurement item and walk away. I stopped him and said I wanted him to do it. This seemed to bother him. We picked out 6 different types of shoes and on everyone he said all they had was a six or 9. What are the odds of 6 different pair of shoes they only had those two sizes. I then ask someone for the restroom. That person was very nice and directly led me to the bathroom. I got in the restroom and there was no towels, no toilet paper and shit left on the seat. It was obvious from the floor and condition it had not been looked at since the beginning of the day. Just an all around bad experience with bad customer service and attitude. Shopping for rods. Most aren't priced. Asked the kid working what this sales ad that was mounted on rods and he said it's just for a rod. But the ad said spin cast so I knew he was wrong. So I googled it and it was for a combo. It was an ad for a kids zebco rod/spin in front of field and stream regular rods. Asked same kid if someone could help us with pricing rods. He said he couldn't leave his area. And the right person was on break. So we left. :( read more

I was researching trampolines online and yall had the best deal. I went for that one thing but I could NOT find any employee in the area to help! It seemed that there was no employees upstairs! My visit wasn't off to a great start as I walked around for 15 minutes looking for someone to assist me in getting the trampoline box downstairs to check out. I knew there would have to be an employee at the gun counter so I finally went there. That's where I was greeted by an awesome employee, Alex. He got another employee to cover the gun counter and walked back to the outdoor toys section with me. He said he would meet me downstairs by the register with the trampoline. He was fast! After we checked out he accompanied me to my van, that was packed with other purchases and car seats! He was patient with me as I rearranged so the trampoline would fit. He seriously went above and beyond as an employee. This box weighed 180 pounds, it was HOT, and I'm sure I was annoying. Alex didn't have an attitude, he made me feel like getting this humungous box in my over packed van was exactly what he wanted to be doing! Because of his demeanor, and willingness to help me, he made my trip a great experience. When you have employees like Alex, it doesn't matter if you are a little further that Walmart, or that your prices might be a little higher. As a consumer, I'm willing to drive a little further or pay a little more for great customer service! read more
