They have a lot of merchandise, not enough employees. Quite understaffed. I like their boots but unfortunately are very expensive and don't have them in size wide. More on the employees, they will have some stand around helping you find the item you want, so thats nice. read more

Must stop, one of the BIGGEST DICKS SPORTING GOODS I have ever been in. A lot of merchandise.

This place is big two story sporting goods store, and you could buy stuff for either personal used or team sports. But if you need to find someone help you to decide what you need then forget it, either they don't know what they're selling or try to sell you additional stuff that you don't need. They need to hire better employees. Horrible customer service experience, they were rude and the manager wasn't that much better. The employee just walks away while you ask them a question, no she wasn't busy, she she stood there for 15 seconds and mid question about having a certain size in stock, she just walked away. read more

This place is as bad as it gets if you're looking for an employee's help. Walked thru most of the store, saw 3 employees in the corner talking together as i could easily see other customers thruout the store also looking for help. I did actually make eye contact with one employee there, but he quickly turned the other way and acted like he was really busy. Funny, I had this same experience at this Grandville Dick's store last time I came in here a couple years ago. How does this place stay in business??? read more

They have great product selection and I've always been able to find what I need BUT I just got a really bad taste from my checkout experience. Upon checkout I was asked if I had a 'scorecard' (their returning-customer perks card similar to what most retail chains use). I said "no." I was asked if I wanted to sign up for one and I said, "no." The employee then immediately tossed a scorecard onto my order and scanned it anyway, saying: "I'm going to get you signed up anyway because that way you'll get coupons and discounts in the future." I was so surprised by this (combined with being tired from just returning from travels) that before I knew it I had also been pressured into giving my e-mail and address. Yes, it's partly my own fault for not standing up to him after he scanned the card and got the process rolling, but the fact that he did that immediately after me saying "no" is too much. I understand that sales associates are pressured from above to sign as many people up as possible but pressuring a customer after we say "no" is wrong. read more

They need better help and management. I went there to get my golf club regripped and the guy that did was no help. He had to re do my order and took longer than expected. Plus when I went to use it it felt cheap. Sorry but no respect for this place read more

It's a pretty typical Dick's in that it has a nice selection of a lot of good stuff. Where they blew it was that I was looking around in their shoe department for a good pair of sneakers and there were 3 emloyees standing around talking while they were stocking shoes, but not a single one could be bothered to come over and ask if I needed any assistance even though I spent about 5 to 7 minutes looking around. I realize I don't look like the type of person they would have expected to come in and buy an expensive pair of sneakers but you never know so everybody should get good service. Since nobody here seemed interested in helping me I came home and did some research online and bought a nice pair of shoes direct from the manufacturer. Granted I'm sure missing out on that $170 sale won't bankrupt this store, but if they lose a whole bunch of sales like this it could eventually add up to big loss of profits. read more

I've had good experiences at Dicks so it's a little unfair to give this review based off of one bad experience, but if you are looking for roller blades, go elsewhere. I went into Dick's last night and headed to the roller blade department. Only 2 rollerblades were on display, the rest were all in boxes, making it extremely challenging to tell the difference between the brands, styles, and colors and prices. I pulled out the first pair I saw in my size and they were $199.00. I'm not an avid skater so I didn't want to spend this much and I really wanted K2's. The brand I tried on were Rollerblade brand I believe. I went to the bike counter and rang the bell for assistance. The guy came over to help me, it turns out Dicks does not carry K2 in the stores only online, at least not in the Granvdville store. The employee didn't know the difference between the brands or what made a rollerblade $199 vs. a $99 pair. I asked if anyone else was available who is more knowledgeable in blades and he said the other guy who works in fitness was not in. I was frustrated and disappointed and left empty handed. read more

I went in to buy something and waited on two occasions at the bike counter to get something that was locked up in the display case. The worker never said a word to me. He was talking with another customer, but never even acknowledged that I was there. A simple 'I'll be with you in a moment' would have gone a long way. I probably won't be coming back to get anything there. The lack of service is insulting. read more

Seems weird against the other two reviews, but I had exceptional service. I was promptly asked if I needed help in the outdoors section. The employee agreed with my tent decision. I then perused for a while on sleeping bags and backpacks... The same employee checked stock for me, and said to mention good things to managers. Managers asked me how it was and we're very personal. Wrote a review online as they suggested. Great service. read more

This is a really cool store with a huge selection on everything related to sporting goods. Dick's prices are good and every now and then you can find some really good sales. Never tried their climbing wall but hope to sometime! read more
