I have to say that I am always impressed when I go here, and I have been here a lot. LOL!!! They always have some kind of sale going on and the staff is never hesitant to say hi or see if you need help. The store and its restrooms are always clean and the store is well organized always. My cashier today was Nicole. She was exceptional at her job in every area there could be. I greatly appreciate that. When I go in this place, I usually buy fishing items. Today was different as I went for some fishing items and some new shoes to run in. Being that I am again new to running, the sales associate, Tanner, was very helpful. Tanner approached me and answered multiple questions that I had and put me on a great shoe to run in and managed to sale me some socks also. He sold me being that he related to me as he runs a lot. I think what impressed me the most about him though was the fact that he was helping me and another person at the same time and handling it like a pro. Lead: Diaz and Kevin: Shoe Department Rep On Saturday, March 10, 2024, my granddaughter Allyson and I visited Dick's Sporting Goods, in Jacksonville, NC. This was probably the most pleasant shopping experience we've had together in a while, likely due to the two aforementioned professionals, who went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable, stress-free, and successful! Firstly, they engaged in kind and unpretentious conversation throughout the entire process and thoroughly explained what type of track shoe and ankle support she needed in her first experience with track on a high school level. As Kevin measured and assisted Allyson with her first track shoes he engaged her in conversation regarding his own 12 y/o daughter and her athletic adventures, bonding with a teen can be hard! As we searched for ankle supports, Lead Diaz volunteered to take us to them, measured her, and proceeded to ensure that she had the exact pair and fit she needed! Once again, Allyson immediately opened up to Diaz as he explained his journey with Dick's and explained that she should never give up on her ambitions and dreams. These two individuals were incredibly patient, never hurried or acted exasperated. I know how extremely hard they work as the store was somewhat crowded and humans can be rude and unappreciative but Diaz and Kevin were the same with each customer. Another admirable trait, each employee had was that they sincerely acted like they loved their job, that's vital to me as a consumer! Please pass along my sincere thanks to each of them and let them know they truly made us feel cared for and respected. Not just a basic sporting goods store they also sell atheletic apparel and shoes. They often have holiday deals and offer a military discount. They have everything a person good need to start a home/garage gym. There staff is super helpful and offer advice on all sorts of sporting events and tips. read more

I've gone to this store several times in the last couple of months. The customer service is absolutely pathetic, and if you plan on getting help in the firearms/Ammo section, good luck to you. The hunting selection is the worst I've seen in any store of that type. This includes all camouflage clothing, because it basically doesn't exist there. There's very few outdoor stores here, and I don't understand why they'd be like this, fully knowing the potential to make a lot of money from hunters and fishermen. I highly recommend going somewhere else, like Academy Sports or really anywhere else. Trust me, you'll leave this place disappointed. read more

It was a waste of time even to come in here. Came looking for SPORTS memorabilia, specifically a simple NFL spatula. I figured why not go to the store that literally calls themself a SPORTING goods store. Rather they waste space and time stocking the place full of clothes and waaaaay over priced golf things. They have a great selection of items. I've gone three times now hoping to get sneakers, an oversized gel heat/cold pack, and a mountain bike. However, each time I've gone it's nearly impossible to find help. The day I went for sneakers they had one person working that department and after a 15 minute wait, and waking around unable to find additional staff for assistance, we ended up leaving. The day I went to for the cold pack they just didn't carry what I needed (which happens) but finding someone to show me where they were was nearly as difficult as locating the ice packs themselves. Lastly, I wanted a mountain bike today and the department was completely empty. From the back of the store up to the register there was only 1 employee to be found, and she was in shoes assisting a customer. The store is immaculate, well lit, and well stocked, but they are severely understaffed. Although you have to wonder if they're well stocked because there is no one around to sell you anything. read more

When shopping any retail store my biggest like or gripe is customer service. The employees of Dick's have yet to let me down. They are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond. Two examples: 1) when looking at tents I spotted one that looked great, and cost $250. The gentleman on the floor then asked what our primary uses would be and such, and then recommend 3 other tents that were $160 - $75 cheaper. Granted, he's not on commission so a sale is a sale as far as he is concerned, but I thought it was great that he cared enough to help and show the various options. 2) I went to get indoor soccer shoes for my son. I wanted Adidas Sambas and have had a hard time finding them for him. Dick's didn't have his size, but the girl in the shoe department recommended 2 other stores (meaning Dick's would lose a sale) that might carry them, and then also offered to order them and have them shipped to the store. She recommended the other stores so that I could get them that day if need be, instead of pushing another shoe or brand on me. I ended up ordering the size we needed and they'll be here in 3 days. They made my shopping experience at Dick's a great one. read more

TO ME...being from San Diego...the MAIN thing different about this Dick's is that they sell a bunch of items relating to hunting, e.g., woodland camouflaged wardrobe, deer corn (?), false ducks, etc. OTHER THAN THAT, it's typical: Sports stuff and weight lifting related things. THEY DO have a nice lil' golf section. Their customer service is "eh". I ALWAYS get greeted but other than that...eh. They don't really walk around and try to service us - the employees who work in the shoe area do help though. read more

The staff at this store rocks! I'm a grandmother who lives in San Diego with grandchildren who live in Maple Hill. My grandson turned ten today and we wanted to buy him a new bike. We've searched all online options, no other place had nice bikes already assembled for a descent price. Dicks had a great offering and their website advertised professional bike services onsite. I placed my order first thing this morning. Called the store and spoke to Joyce and told her the situation. She confirmed my order was showing and that she will track it down and call me back. Well within the two hour timeframe she called me back said the bike, helmet and lock are ready for pick up. I shared with her my wish to be there to be with my grandson on this special day. She assured me that it was "a nice bike for a ten year old". I asked if by chance she had a balloon in the store, she chuckled and said "I've got a red one I'll take care of it". And she did! My grandson said there were three balloons on there! While thanking us for the bike my grandsons mom said "and the staff at Dicks were awesome!"....thank you to all who helped make this a special day for my grandson and a special call out to Joyce- you're the best!!! read more

My husband and I were returning an item and the 'greeter' was snotty, condescending, confrontational and belligerent...just plain RUDE!! I had to walk away and let my very calm husband deal with her as my blood pressure shot up so high. I did speak to the manager about her but I don't know if it made a difference as we will NEVER return to Dick's Sporting Goods again. Even the trash out front was overflowing which should have given me an indication that the management does not take pride in their store! read more

Extremely disappointed in the customer service at this Dicks. The lady wearing the "head coach" lanyard with her uniform rudely cut me and my sister in law off in an aisle. Then, for our exchange the cashier (Destiney) acted like she completely HATED her job. read more

Great experience went with some friends to get them kayaks, the personnel were excited to help us. Some of the accessories were a bit steep for my wallet but that's what you get if your looking for name brand. The kayak section is a lot larger than most dick's sporting goods. And the staff even gave us some information about the local river and the weather for the weekend. Really kind and helpful staff. read more

I have had good and bad experiences at dicks. I will tell you this. There is an assistant manager there named Ryan. He is very helpful and seems to care about his customers. I had two trail cams stop working for me and he did everything he could to help me. Everytime I have been in there everyone so far has been very eager to help me. So as far as customer service and dicks employees trying to help the customers, I give them an A plus! Thanks again Ryan! read more

Selection of products was better than most Dicks I've been to. However the cashier (who was a tall blonde) was very rude. She didn't talk to us until she asked if we wanted our receipt emailed. I had a great experience last evening at Dick's worth mentioning. An associate there, Chris A., was extremely patient, professional, and informative when I was asking about a sport's watch I was interested in learning more about. He described each watch, was honest about the feedback he received from each, and never once pressured me to purchase any of them unless I was absolutely sold on it. They never have the items I want in stock, they lack in costumer service, and it's very hard to tell who actually works at the store because they all dress casual and and there's no effort to look unified. The only luck you have is asking someone behind the cash register if there's even someone there. On the plus side they have lots of golfing stuff so that's good I guess. read more

Prices are ok, but no real local competition. Clean and well stocked. Great golf selection. No one has every really helped me outside of golf clubs and shoes, but those products aren't accessible to grab and go so it is kind of necessary. I guess the well stocked an clean facility go hand in hand - the preference is look and feel over service. read more
