The store is smaller then the location down in Stuart but much more enjoyable to visit. I have been in the service business for 40 years and am now retired. I find myself going into the store just to look around and not always to buy items but asking questions and learning form the staff and I end up going home with a bag of good fishing stuff. She assured me it did work and it did not. When I tried to return it she refused to take it back (the store is closing) and provided me with a play, by play lecture of when I bought it. I asked her why they sold pressure gauges that are labeled for inflatables in the inflatable section if they did not work on inflatables. She might have well have said 'don't let the door hit you on the way out. Its sad, West Marine, home of the West Advisor used to be a wealth of knowledge with friendly staff!

He basically told me I'm sol and the manner in which he told me was very condescending. I wasn't happy. I also reminded him that the bait he brought 2 weeks ago was horrible. It was thawed out several times it seems like and couldn't even hook it. His response it there's a shortage and whatever his supplier beings is what he have. He was the one also trying to pass off glass minnows as silverside to me a few months ago. Good thing I caught it as I was about to pay for it. Not a good experience dealing with him at all.

A quick browse through the shop showed that this will be a welcome addition to the Stuart area. They appeared to stock all the top brands, as well as a great selection of fresh baits - both pre-rigged and natural. It appeared to be a shop that is well suited for the conditions in Stuart, with the near shore fish buffet call the Indian river in the front yard and the blue water bonanza just a couple of miles out the St Lucie inlet. And as an interesting twist, they are also carrying gear for the "sea hunters" stocking gear or the free divers. Everything from spear guns to wetsuits, masks, snorkels and other accessories for the blue water free diver ( as a shore based fisherman, I do carry some dive gear (hand held lights and a compact dive knife) as it is the best functioning, most reliable gear made. So when I do have tackle needs that I cannot fulfill out of my "store" they will be at the top of my list.

He was super helpful in helping me select the right fishing kayak for my needs and gave us great tips on how to properly Stow the kayak and what equipment I would need to add for fishing. The day we bought the kayak, we didn't have a memes two trailer at home. And let us keep it at the shop until we were able to get a trailer and take it home.
