I had a very frustrating experience trying to pick up a firearm order at Bass Pro Shops. I recently moved, and my driver's license still shows my old address. I brought my valid government-issued photo ID along with my current vehicle registration showing my updated physical address. Bass Pro's own pickup instructions say that if the address on your photo ID does not match your current residential address, you may be required to provide a second form of government-issued documentation with your current physical address, such as a vehicle registration, voter ID card, concealed carry permit, hunting license, etc. That is exactly what I brought. My driver's license was my photo ID, and my vehicle registration was the supplemental proof of current address. However, the employee/manager still turned me away and acted like I was trying to use the registration as a photo ID, which was not the case. To make it even more frustrating, I contacted several other local firearm shops afterward, and they all said that a valid driver's license plus current vehicle registration is acceptable for this situation. So it appears this was either a misunderstanding by the store or an overly restrictive store decision that was not clearly explained. I understand firearm sales require strict compliance, and I respect that. But customers should not be turned away when they bring the exact type of documentation Bass Pro's own instructions say may be used. The process was confusing, poorly handled, and wasted my time. Having first experienced Bass Pro Shop in Denver CO, this store is what I call the Bass Pro Express. I have bought quite a bit of different items over the years, which are reasonable when on sale and when you are given gift cards all the time. Having signed up over 10 years ago for the Club Membership, I had an issue when making a large purchase, and I must say that the representative at the Club Member Services booth, Alysia Radden, is an absolute asset. Came to pick up some outdoor apparel. Was harassed by the Wyndham grand vacation time share people.... Asked 400 times by retiree employees if I need help. But when I checked out there was only 1 employee/line open... felt like Walmart. 18 registers but one person working. Credit card machine locked up and froze. Took forever to pay. Fun even if you don't hunt, fish or outdoors at all. When living in Florida, you must be prepared to rough it on the occasional hurricane possibility of knocking out your power. This Florida woman is prepared! Wow, let me start off by saying that I frequent BPS often in Miami and customer service is top notch, but this location is spewing with racism and the most unprofessional employees anywhere. I'm still in shock that with everything going in today's day and age that people would govern themselves accordingly, but that's definitely not the case at this location, especially from an employee representing such a huge entity. I would also like to mention that I've purchased several firearms at this location in the past and I went today to purchase a 357 Dasa and a Glock. The blonde gentlemen behind the counter with the tattoo sleeves was extremely rude and definitely did not want to help us, which we found odd because he spent over 30min with another customer that didn't even know how to rack a firearm. Mind you, the older gentleman with white hair that also works there, which I've purchased a firearm from in the past was talking to some friends about how they make commission selling firearms and how bad business has been, hence why we were waiting for the other associate to help us. My brother was on the phone the entire time talking to his wife about one of the firearms and when it was finally our turn, we asked him to see the Glock and with a horrible attitude he got it out of the case and he started to ask questions like, have you ever shot a firearm before? Do you know how to hold a gun? We told him we were both concealed permit holders and definitely owned several firearms, at which point he started to tell us that he didn't think we were there to buy a firearm for us, he accused us of potentially trying to buy a firearm for someone else? I said what?! At this point, my brother asked to see a shotgun, which he refused to show him because he suspected we were there to buy a firearm for someone else. I asked him why he would make that assumption only because of our interest to buy several firearms and ask to see certain items. The employee started to make racist remarks and accusations against Hispanic people, at which point I became extremely offended and defensive. I requested to speak to a his manager who happened to be standing right next to us the entire time and allowed his employee to treat us in such an unprofessional manner. At no point did this "manager", a skinny individual with glasses ever try to deescalate the situation or offer us an apology. He said if they had a suspicion that we were trying to buy a firearm for someone else they didn't have to speak to us. I'm writing this review and I'm still confused as to why they would think this because we were on the phone? Any person that's trying to buy a firearm for someone else is not going to tell you that's what they're there to do. It makes no sense other than we were racially profiled and treated as such. I was even more perplexed because commission guy who was talking to his friends was saying sales were bad, well heck, this is why. I also know that if you buy more than one handgun, it is reported to the ATF, how do I know this? Because I've bought several at once in the past. So again, I'm confused as to why this unethical employee ever made any assumptions or had a concern... I hope BPS reads these reviews and doesn't take these complaints lightly, else all the customers will continue to flock to Gander Mountain. read more

Terrible! Terrible! Awful! Customer service. I was told easiest,fastest,safest way to make a purchase was to go online purchase and pay , wait for e mail go to store and pick up. Well not that simple. After waiting 20 minutes the customer service manager came to my aid he immediately wanted to see e mail for a bar code I pulled it up instead of scanning it he grabbed my cell phone and Started walking around with it (without coronavirus I never let anyone handle my phone). After another 15 minutes he finally sent a young girl to the back to retrieve my merchandise. Not what I expected or was told A total waste of 45minutes to complete. I could have gone into the store got what I needed and gone in 5 minutes or so. And probably been a lot safer not exposed as much I wish Gander Mountain were still around! read more

I would give it 5 stars. All of the staff is wonderful, knowledgeable, and polite...except the vacation sales team. The vacation sales team literally stalked me around the store. I said I'm not interested about 100 times. Then the man had the audacity to say be respectful and hear him out. After I said no well over 100 times, he then proceeded to follow me around the store and be obnoxious. I give him props for being on top of sales, but he's annoying as sh!t. I went in for what would be a 5 minute stop but turned into 20 minutes. I had Sméagol following me around and borderline harassing me the moment I signed up for a chance to win a "raffle." I went to Bass Pro this afternoon to purchase a pair of binoculars. There were two salespeople behind the counter, one talking to a customer and the other walking back and forth. Two of us patiently waited for assistance. After about 5 to 10 minutes, when both of the salespeople walked past, I asked if there was anyone who could help with the binoculars. One person ignored me and continued walking, the other said he was helping someone else, turned around and walked away. At no time did anyone ask us if we needed help or let us know that someone would be with us shortly. We felt like they didn't want our business. This kind of treatment would be somewhat understandable if they were busy, but they weren't. It's a shame in this day and age with so many online choices that a brick and mortar store would treat their customers with such disregard. I am all about shopping local and want to contribute to the local economy but I want to know that my shopping dollars are appreciated too. Another $500 sale lost to Amazon. Sad... I do want to add that I have had great experiences at this Bass Pro in the past and most of the sales staff are terrific and very helpful, hence the three stars. If I were to rate today's experience it would be one star. read more

This was my first visit to one of these stores. The store is definitely a hunter's or fisherman's paradise. They have everything you think you would need for camping. I dropped in to look for a towing mirror. I thought they would have this kind of thing as they sell boats. After wondering isle after isle in the trailer section they had everything but what I needed. This was the second stop that I made to find what I needed. The staff are friendly and I don't think i walked more than a couple of isles before another was asking if I needed any help. They have customer service down to a science which is not readily found in south Florida. read more

Once you've been to one Bass Pro Shops, I feel like you've been to them all. This one recently opened in my hometown of Port St. Lucie, aka nothingville. I found it really odd to have placed an outdoor store here of all locations, and can only assume its location right off I-95 to the reason. That way all the Vero Beach/Ft. Pierce and Stuart/Okeechobee peeps can get to it fairly easily. The store was clean, employees were friendly, everything was organized. That have your standard camo and sportswear type apparel, guns, knives, camping and fishing needs, along with boats and kayaks and anything else outdoorsy you can imagine. Oh, and the cool Bass tank. This one was particularly appealing with seating and a pretty mural behind it. Very tranquil. Thought I'd add a little gem. A friend I went to high school with, failing to ever leave this nothing of a town, posted on facebook right before this store opened, "They're building a Bass Pro in PSL. FINALLY a place to meet guys!" and I laughed because I thought she was joking. Fast forward to Christmas break and I'm visiting and we happen to stop in to blow some gift cards on a Friday night and apparently this really is a spot that women dress up to go to to pick up men. FOR REALS. Women hanging out at the gun counter in their short shorts. Smh. I've seen it all. So, stop here for all your outdoor needs, and to possibly pick up your future spouse! read more

Buyer Beware. If you're looking to buy a firearm, look elsewhere. BPS Customer Service is poor. While you pay upfront, your paperwork (ie background check) will not be completed until after the waiting period. so, after 3,4, or 5 days you will then complete the paperwork and probably wait once again 1,2, or 3 more days. I assume it is due to their antiquated routers and IT Infrastructure. However, it could be due to the law enforcement back log. in either case, the logistics is off. During the waiting period is an excellent and widely used time to conduct the paperwork. Look elsewhere. Local gunships do a much better job of putting your new purchase into your hands in a timely manner. read more

And I was double charged, I have called the store and they said that it was my problem not theirs and there was nothing that they could do and I needed to go to my bank. After complaining for a few minutes she said she would call corporate and see what they could do and get back with me later in the day, she called back and said it would tomorrow before she would get an answer. Today she called back and said it would me next week. It only took them about 10 seconds to take the money out of my account, but yet it is going to be taking them weeks to put it back. I guess I am like most Americans I only have so much money and do not have $500 dollars just sitting around, that extra $500 that they charged me is money that I need to pay bills with. And if my checks get declined Bass Pro Shops is not going to be paying my returned check fees or they are not going to fix my credit rating for having returned checks. So I say to everyone be careful when you go to BASS PRO SHOPS. The person that I have been talking to said that this is not the first time this has happened so they know it happens and are not willing to step up and cover the problem. read more

They have a wonderful Santa's workshop for kids, they get a free picture with Santa's, a coloring page, a Christmas ornament to make, and a chance to write Santa a letter and out it in the Santa mail. They are also having some really good sales for Christmas. I love this store, the friendly staff, and the whole ambience!! read more

I recently purchased a summit climber, tree stand, and it looked like someone had bought the stand, took out the new cables and replaced them with old torn up cables. The following day I went back to get another stand and they were out, Don (the manager) gave me a new set of cables and took care of me. I see people bashing the lines at the gun counter, the fact of the matter is, everyone stands in and UN- orderly line, and expect the service members to know exactly what everyone wants and if they have even been taken care of yet... just saying, I love this store, hate the people in st lucie read more

purchased a 2019 MPS17 from BPS in Port St Lucie , had some mods done just to make the skiff a flats fishing machine and the work that was done is top notch . Corey , Matt, Skip and Jessica and the rest of the marine service dept. are as good as it gets . The shop is a mercury specialist shop with great service people . Feel very confident taking it back there for my mercury 75 four stroke and any other services I may need . They even repack bearings for a good fee . They even wash your boat after the work is done . I am thinking of moving to the Port St Lucie area , so I called a few of the businesses in the area to kind of get a feel of the place. When I called Bass Pro Shop in Port st.lucie I was connected with a very nice customer service representative whose name is Marsha. Marsha was a very big help , she explained the rewards program and that with each purchase you get points which can get you cash for purchases. Marsha actually described the port Saint Lucie / Jensen Beach area as" lovely" ! Marsha also explained the different product lines that they have which include hunting, camping, fishing ,boating and other product lines! Speaking with Marsha was like speaking with an old friend, when I go to Port St Lucie in person to check out the area I am definitely going to ask for Marsha ,so I can meet her in person.... she is a great asset to the Bass Pro Shop organization read more

We went in to Bass Pro Shops in Port Saint Lucie on Sunday & spoke with a Boats Sales Man that was sitting behind a high table playing on his phone & told him we were interested in purchasing a boat, he told us banks don't give loans on Sunday's & told us we should return during the week. That evening we went online & filled out a Loan Application online & were immediately approved for a Boat Loan so the next day we return to the store & met with a lady who was in-charge of boat sales (Cindy) & we explained that we are already approved for a loan & we just need to find a boat however we were passed around to 5 Different people (including a service tech) With every different person we met with we had re-explain what kind of boat we wanted. We left without purchasing anything because we felt extremely uncomfortable that non-of them really wanted to help us. Wanting to purchase a boat for my family before the weekend I called Cindy the next day & told her we're taking the Red Sun Tracker Bass Buggy 18 that we saw outside & to get it ready for pick up by the weekend & to e-mail me the invoice. However she called me couple days later & told me she sold the Red Bass Buggy we chose & they would be getting a Black one in but wouldn't be ready till the following week because they had to get the Red-One Ready for the other person this weekend. Not sure what we did wrong for Bass Pro Shops Port St Lucie didn't want to sell us a boat. Only thing I can think is that maybe the fact that we are an interracial couple we don't receive the same service as a Caucasian couple??? While we were there I applied for a Bass Pro Shops Master Card & Got approved for $7500 which I was planning on using to purchase everything we needed for the family fishing trips & to completely deck-out our boat, now I won't use they're Credit Card or Shopping for anything at Bass Pro Shops. read more

We went shopping at the St. Lucie West location just before Christmas and were shocked with the offensive, relentless timeshare salespeople hounding and badgering the shoppers. Very nice BPS store. They have a wide range of hunting, fishing and camping gear. they have very nice sales after Christmas. The hunting department had a nice inventory but the customer service could have been better. I waited a long time to get my answers--- and the store was not crowded. They keep the store clean and organized. read more

When you walk into this store your eyes will go left and right in amazement how much there is to see. And trust me when I say this, you'll always miss something, so you must go back again (and again). This store is for you if you especially like outdoor sports, and variations of them. For example, if you like fishing, there are regular rods or fly fishing rods, and even kite fishing - lures for all. There is also an area where you can make your own fly (for fly fishing). Fishing boats from John boats and kayaks to large center console boats with live wells. We can't forget the infamous large fish tank that holds some 20+ saltwater fish that leave kids, as well as adults in awe. I am unaware if this brand new store to the Treasure Coast has a gun and archery range like the one in Ft. Lauderdale. I do know that this store has only one floor and the one in Ft. Lauderdale has two (the second story is used for the ranges). It is impressive, but maybe not as large as the others. The clothing can be a bit pricey and some of the fishing gear can be found in other department stores for less. But if you are looking forsomething different, whether it's the experience or something that cannot be found in other stores, you'll likely won't regret stopping by and shopping this store! read more
