I asked her why they sold pressure gauges that are labeled for inflatables in the inflatable section if they did not work on inflatables. She might have well have said 'don't let the door hit you on the way out. Its sad, West Marine, home of the West Advisor used to be a wealth of knowledge with friendly staff!

Justin and his team are always greeting me when I walk in and are always happy and smiling. I travel all over and visit many outdoor supply stores and this particular West Marine tops them all. The store is smaller then the location down in Stuart but much more enjoyable to visit. I have been in the service business for 40 years and am now retired. I find myself going into the store just to look around and not always to buy items but asking questions and learning form the staff and I end up going home with a bag of good fishing stuff. The guns are secured in glass cabinets that are a little hard to see due to the wood frames around all edges. You look down directly or sideways. I found a used gun that was a very nice price, marked about 1/2 of new. Once done the price was even lower and discount covered the sales tax too. He basically told me I'm sol and the manner in which he told me was very condescending. I wasn't happy. I also reminded him that the bait he brought 2 weeks ago was horrible. It was thawed out several times it seems like and couldn't even hook it. His response it there's a shortage and whatever his supplier beings is what he have. He was the one also trying to pass off glass minnows as silverside to me a few months ago. Good thing I caught it as I was about to pay for it. Not a good experience dealing with him at all.

We ordered parts online for our car's specific make/model via the Yakima brand website, but after receiving the parts from our online order it was clear we needed some direction and assistance from a seasoned professional! Enter Native Water Sports! We've seen the store several times but never went it. We decided to go and we are so glad we did. Ted, the owner and operator, graciously helped us get the proper parts and told us he'd call us back to the store once received. About a week later, the parts were here, and Ted and my husband arranged a time at the shop. He not only helped install the rack to ensure that it was safely mounted, but he also showed my husband how he did it and was very hands-on! It took them about one and a half hours - and we were good to go. He showed us how to use the straps, how to take the pads off/on, etc. You can absolutely tell Ted is a well seasoned professional kayak guy - not only that, but he's friendly and just a genuinely nice person. For any kayak needs - car racks, life jackets, kayaks, and pretty much any kayak accessory known to man - Ted is your guy for honest help!
