They took me right over to what I needed to get! Then at the checkout line, the lady was so very happy as well. I am So grateful I went there. This past week I stopped in at this Dick's Sporting Goods to purchase some tubes for our annual tubing adventure. When we pulled into the parking lot we were excited to see that they we're having a clearance sale. This store has a ton of different items on clearance and we enjoyed looking through their shoe selection. When we walked into the store it was well organized and clean. Each department was well marked which made it easy to find our section. They had a ton of different river tubes ranging in price which made it easy to find the ones we were looking for. In the end when we were checking out we were greeted by a pleasant employee who quickly took care of us and got us out the door. Overall, this is a great store with a ton of different items. The prices are reasonable to other stores and it's nice when they have their clearance sales. read more

Not great, it feels like every time i come here they don't have what i need or the sizes i need or something like that. It is my observation that 1/3 of the store is hunting equipment and gear. The sweatshirts sizes are either small or medium in most cases and varied for women. The shoes are the one thing i would say are decent. The sports items are by far the worst selection but that is very standard for Dick's, good selection on equipment like bats, socks and treadmills, does anyone buy treadmills? Staff sucks, they are pretty lame, a lot of turn over with the cashiers. I have come here many times for very simple things and found nothing. read more

Purchased a bike for my son there and had assembled before we bought it- on his first ride the handle bars were loose and the wheel did not turn causing a crash- accidents happen- When I spoke to Store Manager Dez? he stated "bolts are some times missed- it happens" Contacted corporate and they were very helpful. I was looking at recumbent exercise bikes and aftertrying the floor samples looked unsuccessfully for sales help.i went home and researched the item I was interested in and then called the store to inquire about the details of ordering.The supposed specialist for this section stated that the item on sale was available and for a fee could be delivered and assembled .I specifically asked if this was for a new piace of equipment or the floor sample and he assured me that it was the former.When I went to the store (a 24mile round trip) topurchase the item another salesman said the item was only available as a floor sample(the ine being d/cd) and wouldn't have a warranty.As there were obvious defects I of course passed on the purchase read more

This store is a tad messy and over crowded with stuff in places. There is loads of staff but nobody is actually able to help or successfully answer questions. I recently had an experience where the customer service counter employee was incredibly rude and unwilling to help find a product that I had called to make sure was available, previous to coming in. Sam's outdoor outfitters across town is a much better option. read more

I visited this store on Saturday and spoke with a sales person about the sale they were having on their Kayaks. We talked for about 10 minutes about the kayaks and the sale. I left the store on Saturday as I didn't have the car with a rack with me. When I returned on Sunday with the car with a roof rack (the following day) I was told the sale was over....It would have been great for the sales person to mention that the sale ended on Saturday as I would have paid for it then. I mentioned that their internet price was still showing the sale price and their response was well that is because it's the internet and the reason it was on sale was because you have to pay $150 or so for shipping. What a crock. These stores wonder why people go online these days to the store that starts with an A. I can get a kayak there for less than the price at the store and shipped in a couple of days for free (I'm sure this store that starts with an A isn't taking a loss) They were totally unwilling to give the the sales price which was only $50 less than the original price on a $550 kayak. Sure I had the $ to pay the original price but after the attitude of the sales person about the internet price and the fact that I wasn't informed the sale ended on Saturday I chose to leave the Kayak sitting in the store. The last I checked $0 is much less than $500 and they still would have made plenty of $ on the kayak I'm sure. Back to giving my money to the online stores I guess. read more

Great Dick's selection but the poorest service I have ever seen at a sporting good's store. Ever. One would not expect LL Bean quality service - but some service. Need information on running shoes? Good luck. (I had to go in a back room and call out to see if someone was even there.) Need information on where duffel bags are? Good luck. Information on when kayaks will be going on sale? Good luck. It is almost as if the young employees are shown a "How to look at the customer as if they are nuts when they ask a question" training video. The last time I went in was to buy a pair of basic flip-flops for the pool and I could not get an employee to explain when the ones on sale (most sizes missing) would be restocked - or when that might be. I have also noticed 2-3 employees converged at the registers talking, but not out helping customers, and not smiling as you leave either. read more

If this were a mom & pop shop, I'd give them two stars, but honestly I've come to not expect very much from chain stores, so for a chain store, this is not the worst. Let's say 2.5 stars. ;) Pros: *LOW prices, for the most part. *Good sales, clearance. *Huge selection. *Sometimes you can find a helpful sales person who seems to know what they're talking about. *Sometimes the cashier is friendly. The first time we were here the cashier was WONDERFUL, bubbly & friendly & chatty, even though she was just ringing us up, it's not like she was earning commission or getting a tip out of us. She was just genuinely nice. Cons: *Sometimes you can't find anyone to help you, if it's very busy, like if there's a huge sale on. *Sometimes the cashier isn't friendly. *Sometimes the "sale" price isn't a SALE price, it's an after-rebate price. I have no idea if there is fine print on the "sale" signs noting the fact that the price in HUGE font is actually the AFTER-REBATE price. When you're in a rush & you have kids with you who really just want to get in, get rung up, & get back to having fun outside with their new toys you don't have time to even notice the stupid fine print. So YES, they have GREAT prices a lot of the time, but watch out for if it's a sale price or an after-rebate price... We ended up spending about $30 more than I was anticipating up-front because of the stupid rebates. And one of them was on something little, like fishing lures. We bought 4 because they were $2 for 2. But they rang up at $3 each because $2 for 2 was the after-rebate price. REALLY? I have to send in a rebate to get $8 back?? *SIGH* I'm sure they have tons of people who don't even bother, & that's where they make up for selling lures for 2 for $2. :-\ Anyway, we had rebates for other items too, so yeah, the final price was a bit of a shocker. *MAKE SURE YOUR COUPONS GO THROUGH!!!!!! I had a $10 off coupon plus an extra 300 points (on their rewards card) & I saw the cashier ring the coupon in BUT it didn't take. LOOK. It was busy, I get it. But it's not MY job to make sure the coupon rings in. It's THEIRS. *sigh* But the coupon didn't go through so I guess I will have to make sure it does next time. Not happy about that. When we have time to pop by there again (I refuse to make a special trip because I didn't mess up, the cashier did) I'll see about getting it rectified. *Sometimes the chain stores do NOT have the lowest price, & sometimes the chain stores has the SAME price as the "mom & pop" shops. I saw the sneakers I bought from Ted's for the SAME price here, only here they were advertising them on their flier, so it looked like a sale price, but really it's just the regular retail price. So know your prices. If they have it for the same or lower at a "mom and pop" shop, get it there! These places rake it in as it is. ;) *They take debit cards, & they run them through as debit, but there's no cash back option. I've RARELY encountered that, especially at a huge chain store! Over all would I recommend? Yes. With strings attached. Make sure your coupons go through. Make sure you note the difference between a "sale" price & an "after rebate" price. Know your prices. Don't expect great service on great sale days. If you want to be professionally fitted for sneakers, I'd recommend Ted's on Main St. They will price-match if you find the same shoe in the same size & color online too. If you're looking for fishing or hunting equipment & want someone who's an expert, I recommend Pelletier's in Jaffrey. read more

This Dick's is terrible! I went in there to buy a ski helmet. They didn't have many in stock, so the pickins' were slim as it is. I found one in my size and it happened to be white- upon further inspection, I found it had a lot of scuffs already. This item was new in box. I said maybe I will buy it if they lower the price to an acceptable one where I felt it's worth the sacrifice. So I take it to the checkout along with a couple other items and I asked what they could do about the price because of the scuffs. The cashier immediately said 10% off original price and I told her I felt it's worth 15- 20%. She politely said she had to check with the manager on duty. A few minutes later the manager in duty came over and didn't even look at the helmet and abruptly told me it was going to be 10% or nothing. She was discourteous and RUDE! I said its brand new and has multiple scuffs (about 10 black scuffs on a white helmet)- to no avail. She said 10% is it. I said no thanks I will bring my business to Sports Authority for a helmet. Short story short- the management here bites!- wicked rude and abrupt also. On the flip side- the cashier was really nice. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more
