Extremely disappointed in Dick's Sporting Goods and how this situation was handled. My 85-year-old grandmother purchased a pair of CALIA pants and tank top end of September as a Christmas gift after being explicitly told by a sales associate that the item could be returned through the end of January due to the holidays. She relied on that information when making the purchase and, frankly, was taken advantage of due to her age and good faith. When I attempted to exchange the item after Christmas -- brand new with tags and accompanied by a gift receipt -- I was told it was ineligible because it was 102 days since purchase, exceeding the 90-day policy by just 12 days. The store stated there was "nothing they could do." I went in store, used live chat, and escalated via phone, yet no one was willing to help -- not even by offering store credit or a gift card. I was never seeking a refund to the original form of payment. It is unacceptable that Dick's chose to rigidly enforce policy while refusing to stand behind what their own employee told an elderly customer. A 12-day difference should not outweigh basic customer service, especially for a holiday gift purchased in good faith. I am now left with a brand-new item I cannot use and a very poor impression of a company that claims to value its customers. read more

This Dick's Sporting Goods is in a great location situated inside of the mega complex that is Nashville West. Given its location, parking is never an issue. I have visited this Dick's on multiple occasions for a variety of items from coolers to shoes, to sportswear and even just to walk around and waste time. All visits are pretty standard and I usually find what I need within a reasonable time. They stay well stocked at this location, this along with keeping the store clean, organized and in good condition makes it a decent spot to stop by. I will say the one thing that is inconsistent with this location is the customer service. On my most recent trips in, I have wandered the full store for over 15 minutes each and not once was I spoken to...even when I entered and left the store. And it was not because the lack of staff. They were there, just not interested in assisting I assume. Overall, if they can get their service in line, it would easily be a 5 star shopping experience at this location. read more

Absolutely incredible customer service! A special call out to Austin, the general manager and Justin the racket stringer. You simply will not believe the story I am about to tell. My 16-year-old daughter was in the middle of a tennis tournament this weekend, and broke a string. Her back up racket looked pretty frayed as well. She had a match the next day at 1 PM. We called Dick's in Nashvillle and spoke with Austin. Although the store doesn't open until 10 AM, Austin opened the store for us at 9 AM and arranged to have Justin working then, coming in early, in order to string the racket for us. In this age of Amazon, I really thought customer service like this didn't exist anymore. Austin completely proved that theory wrong. Dick's Nashville has earned our loyalty- And I mean it. If we ever need anything that remotely resembles sporting goods, that is where we are going to shop. And I will recommend anybody I can to do their business at this location. Let me just begin by saying how broken and unconcerned this store and the franchise is for that matter is about it's customers.. We have been treated awful at several stores and our orders for on-line items have been incorrect multiple times. I have escalated it to their CEO, have been given assurances/promises and still my order isn't fulfilled. I would try any other store or online retailers to avoid having to deal with this organization! read more

Being someone who's into athletics, a store like Dick's will be a place I go to in hopes to find the accessories (i.e. gloves, pads, clothing, etc.) that I may need. I browsed the store and as it was my first time, I wandered a bit to orient myself. No employee greeted me, no employee offered this lost sheep any help. In the end, the item I was looking for but after hunting down an employee for assistance. I have to agree with Sasser M.'s review of this place as I received the best service at the checkout line while purchasing my items and signing up for the store card - you know the one that's free and you can earn points from. In the end, it was truly just "meh" experience, nothing special, if even a little sub-par with selection and service, about this Dick's compared to other chain athletic stores. read more

This store keeps most of the things an average person wants to see in a sporting goods store. They have a number of things that a specialty store might have because thats not what it really is. They have a nice generic selection and thats fine for most folks. Sadly getting help to find what you need isn't easy. On a half dozen occasions I have failed to find help except at the register where they happily try to sign you up for their store card. I've had people hide from me in clothing and shoes because they were trying to finish stocking without me bothering them. I have tried three times to speak with the manager on-duty about the service at the store and its never seems to stick with them. I'm not sure what else to do. Why should I come to your store when there are other chains in town with better service? read more

It would be a great place to buy golf balls and equipment.... But 75% of the time I go there I leave my merchandise at the customer service counter because I'm 8th in line and there is only one person (slowly) checking people out. Not sure if this is a problem with all Dick's or just poor management at this location. Go somewhere else of you can. read more

Bought two bikes over the weekend. We are not big cyclists. We didn't want road bikes. We wanted two good bikes that we could use on Nashville's greenways and also down at the beach. We shopped around. Small shops, big box stores, discount stores and even online. We ended up buying at Dick's on Charlotte Ave. Their bike department is well stocked and the employees - especially Nat - knows bikes. We bought the extended service plan, helmets, etc. and headed out the door. The next day, we tested our new bikes with a 12 mile ride through East Nashville and through Shelby Bottoms Park. About half way through my husband's bike chain came off. He fixed it only to have it fall off again, the second time right in front of the projects on Shelby Avenue near 5th Avenue. He couldn't fix it and walked it/coasted back to the car. We went back to Dick's. Nat wasn't there, but the management was very helpful. When the technician admitted that he didn't have the necessary tool, he gave my husband a new bike. Right there. No hassles. No scene. Swapped out the accessories that we'd bought on the old bike. The next day, we headed out again. The new bike worked perfectly. That's good service and worth writing about. read more

Negative but be my star rating. When clearly a sign says buy one get one accessories and they said well we mean if it is the exact same item. . Like who wants two of the same hats. We tried to get a hat and socks of same brand. The. The manager came over and said has to be same item and walked away. Poorest service ever in this store. The golfing service section of the store is cery great. The selection is wonderful for clubs, bags, shoes, etc. The price was great for everything I purchased. They even have a great program where they will give you money for your old clubs when you buy new clubs at Dicks. The simulator is AMAZING. Try out all your clubs before you purhcase them to make sure they are what you want. The service person (girl) that is there during the week is AMAZING. She is so knowledgable about everything and VERY helpful. I am not sure her name, but I have wentthere twice during the week and she was great. BUT, the worker there this weekend...not so great. Just a heads up. All around, very impressed. I thought I would be talking to someone in high school that had no idea what they were talking about and only thinking about facebook and boyfriend, but that was not the case! read more

I've checked out both the Cool Springs and the Charlotte Pike locations and seem to have similar experiences at both places. Don't go in expecting a whole lot of attention or people jumping at the opportunity to serve you. There is a LOT of stuff here, a lot of ground to cover, and for the most part an average employee that knows an average amount of stuff about a variety of things. On occasion, someone in the shoe department might know exactly what you should get to fit your running needs, or if you can catch an exercise fanatic then you might end up with the right workout equipment to take home. Otherwise, do your research first and go in looking for what you have in mind. read more

I've shopped at this Dick's location since it opened very sporadically but here none the less. Now that I live across town in LaVergne I will stop by if I need stuff and happen to be in the neighborhood. No longer. I will be taking my business elsewhere. This location blows. I needed a new pair of hiking pants and didn't want to spend $100 elsewhere. I got two that I thought were nice and would fit my needs. But lo and behold all of their fitting rooms were "out of order" according to the chicken scratch written signs on the doors?!?!? How is that even possible? It's not like a restroom it doesn't have running water. What does a fitting room need? A light a mirror a bench and locking door? How lazy and cheap do you have to be to decommission a fitting room? So I bough the pants and naturally, they do not fit. Now I have the displeasure of having to take them back to return them. 70% of the main shopping floor is clothes. They probably are executing the worst marketing campaign of all time. Like this: Manager: let's have a store with 70% shopping floor being over priced clothes. Marketing: great idea! Manager: but wait..... let's decommission the fitting rooms so they can't try the clothes on, that way we force them to come back and return them and spend more time here! Corporate: genius, you truly are embracing the "Dick's mentality" now treat your customers very poorly and only have one cashier on staff to check everyone out. Manager: Done and Done read more

Pure frustration describes this location. Have shopped here numerous times for necessity but last visit on 7/16 proves why I will either drive to cool springs or order online (to shop with a different company). I stood waving my hands and asking for help and no staff in sight. Finally a person walked up but didnt want to make eye contact. Though he called for another person to help, she had no clue about the football equipment in her department, she "just stocks the shelves". It's obvious this company has a huge lack of customer service and I'm not certain why? Why Dicks don't you care about those who want to spend money at your stores???? It's pretty easy to fix but now I find myself finding these items from other retailers, or better yet, ordering online! Worst customer care and will not be returning. read more

Spent $1,100 on a basketball goal and $400 on professional installation. Someone in the stockroom had cut opened my box and removed some parts. The company came out today and couldn't even begin the install because the parts were missing. I called to complain to a manager and was told there was nothing they could do as far as discounts or anything to make it right even though it was completely their fault at the store and not the installation company. Wont be making any major purchases from this location again. read more
