OKAY. So I have been here three times, and now I have to write it. Where are your specialized staff?!?!?!?! I have been here three times to try and get measurements for golf clubs, but the one person who does this never appears to be working. You would think weekends are the days for this, but you'd be wrong. I was also told I would have to schedule time to get this done, but couldn't do that until the one person that does it is in the office to schedule with. Why is this not automated? Why do I have to drive in and HOPE someone is working that day just to make an appt for another day? It just doesn't make sense form an efficiency and customer forward perspective. Help me, help you, help me. Please. Do they have all the sports stuff you need, yes. 5 stars for inventory you need. 3 stars for pricing, because it's not very competitive price-wise. Do they have the experts there for the services I need? Never. 0 stars for availability at a normal weekend business hours. Early afternoons on weekends. I just want to spend my money and time, and I can never seem to do that here. I get most of my things online these days. But some things I need some additional experience to assist in my decision making, and each time I have been here it has been a wasted effort. The general staff that are there are friendly, but I haven't been able to complete my mission. An added 0 stars for the lack of UH gear. It should come as no surprise that I visited this store and had a subpar experience... I was in the area and decided I would go into Dicks as I was on a search for some new running pants. While in the store I saw they had a particular pair of gloves I liked, but I couldn't locate the size I needed. I end up finding a pair of tights and goto checkout. This is where my visit goes astray. The associate I interacted with was lackadaisical and a pathological liar. I asked him if he could see if the gloves I was checking out were available. I showed him a picture of them and he proceeds to say oh no we don't have them in stock we dont even carry that style of product. Mind you I had just looked at 7 pair in different colors and sizes... I then inform him that they do infact not only carry the style but have them in stock... I offered to go get them and show him. I then tell him that I was asking if they were truly in stock because I looked them up online and it showed they had 2 pairs and I could place an order for pickup at that store. He then after being caught in a lie calls over a staff member to go search for them. Meanwhile I'm waiting to the left of the register while they search for the gloves...I ask him about the pants that I had brought to the register because it didn't have the brand tags and I stated these must have been a return since the tags are missing. Here he goes lying again stating oh yeah we don't carry this style of pants here. I ask him the name of the pants because I wanted to see if they were on sale online. Low and behold, 1. They were men's pants and 2. they do carry the pants in that store they were just missed labeled and in the women's section... He then reports that it is taking too long to find the gloves so they probably don't have them...my god. Anyway I leave and order the gloves for pickup at that same store and guess what was ready for pickup at the store?? The very gloves I was told they dont have... This was a really stupid and unnecessary experience and a lot of gas used because I actually don't live in pearland...I came back around 6:30pm to pick up my item and guess who closed early today for "Physical inventory " be so foreal Dicks! If you like lies stories and fairytales and your time being wasted come to this store... 2 stars for having a large selection of gear and apparel. read more

I've always had a great experience with Dick's stores. This store was no exception; I called ahead they confirmed the merchandise was in store and saved it at the front desk. I shopped in the store and was asked if I needed any help a couple of times. What more can you ask for? In addition, I support Dick's because they stopped selling guns. read more

Trying to purchase athletic shoes for my 12 year old boy here was very similar to getting a root canal. Not very pleasant. Worst shoe shopping experience I've ever had. I would highly recommend increasing the assigned number of employees at Pearland location. I couldn't find any employee to assist me. Moreover, it is overpriced than many other stores. I spent almost an hour to find few items. I went DICK'S first time and mostly it will be the last time. read more

I came in with the expectation to find some insoles for my problematic arch type and ended up having a thirty minute conversation with Jacklyn about running shoes for my feet type. She was very knowledgeable and wasn't at all pushy to make the sale. She had me try on several and even had me running in the treadmill to make sure the shoes I picked were the right ones. Right after the Astros won the World Series my friends and I ran out to Dick's to pick up our gear. They were very well organized. Had plenty of security to set up the lines outside and only allowed a certain amount of people inside at a time. The championship gear was organized and they had staff inside making sure it wasn't total chaos and a mess. After making my purchases I've been sent emailed coupons and have bought additional gear from Dicks. read more

I want to say this staff was amazing, I ordered a Baseball glove online for in store pick up. It was for my son for HS ball and he had to have it the next day. We live an hour away, well we hit traffic and were late to get there and after the store closed. I stood there till they were walking out for the night and they could have easily said there was nothing they could do but the manager walked back inside and got my sons glove and handed it to me and totally saved the day.. she was my hero.. read more

I'm very disappointed in this store. I took my three kids in to get basketball shoes Saturday evening and after finding the shoe one of my daughters wanted we walked around to find someone to help us. The girl in the department was too busy chatting on her headset to another girl to even acknowledge us. We stood in front of her behind her beside her even and she just ignored me!!!! I then had to have my daughter try on the display shoe since we couldn't get any assistance and she still wouldn't help us!!!! She kept laughing and giggling on her headset. She would look at us and then go on with her conversation. After 20 minutes of this I went to the front with the shoe to ask a cashier if I could get some help and he said there is someone back there but when I explained she isn't helping us he just laughed and said to go back and ask again. I was furious by this point! When I went back to the shoes again the girl finally came up to me and asked if she could help me as rude as she could and when I said yes that would be great she rolled her eyes at me and acted like it was an inconvenience to have to do her job. Needless to say only one pair of basketball shoes was bought because by that point my kids were starving and I wasn't about to wait another 30 minutes to get one pair of shoes and we couldn't get help to try on one pair let alone more than one. YOU NEED TO FIRE BRITTNEY THAT WORKS AT THE REGISTER!!! My first impression of this place was not good. While walking towards the store there was this African American female employee that ran outside yelling to 3 people to come back inside the store b/c one of them set the alarm off. Each one of them seemed surprised she would do that being that she is not security. They walked back towards the store and neither one of them set the alarm off and all she said was Oh i thought one of you all did but i guess not. Not apology to them what so ever! My mom and i thought that was very rude and surprised neither one of them reported her to management. The store is very nice and clean. I met one friendly employee in the shoe department. While walking towards the register My mom and I was standing in line and there go that ignorant girl that ran out the store yelling at those people at the register close to the door on the left. She stood there with an attitude and I did not want to come to her register. My mom decided to go to her just so we can get out. The girl greeted us by saying "you all ready" with attitude. I said Yeah since she was rude. We go to the register and she was cold and straight attitude!!! My mom mentioned she was in the military to get her discount and the girl named Brittney did not say anything! So i stood there looking at her and asked her about the items i purchased since they dont have a register that shows you the price so you don't know if its ringing up right or not. Her rude self said "If you're wondering if its discounted it it is." I said " well im asking because we cant see the price when you ring up the items." She ignored me. My mom goes again to show her military ID and she rudely says "Yeah i got it." By then i had it and i snatched me bag from the girl and told her she was rude and we left. I wished I had asked for a manager to report her but being with my mom I did not try to make a scene. I am hoping that a manager or corporate sees this and do something about that. Overall I gave them 3 stars due to the rude employee. Otherwise i would have given them 4-5 stars. My mom and I were visiting out of town for the thanksgiving holiday and dealt with that rude "girl". How disappointing. While visiting my family in Houston, and in need of some new shoes, I went to Dick's at my father's suggestion. I've always had great experiences before in my city, but today at the location in Pearland the employees didn't greet us upon entering the store and no one was willing to help in the shoe department. The one male employee back there was on his cell phone talking to his friend about how it was raining, and no one was coming in. Apparently I was invisible as the rubber ball he bounced nearly hit me. No apology or offer for help. GET OFF YOUR PHONE AND DO THE JOB YOUR PAID TO DO!!!! Now I'll just order online. Don't quit your day job. Management, take better care of your customers and lose the bad staff that don't deserve your store's paychecks. read more

This is a convenient location, with plenty of parking. Like many of their stores, they have many young employees. However, this location has employees that seem to like their jobs and who want to help customers. Yes, prices are a little high, but we were able to go in and out quickly. Don't take your bike here for repairs or adjustments. Staff is very nice but not knowledgeable at all. Brought mine in for an adjustment and they ended up damaging a part. I was told after that it was already damaged when they received it and I needed to pay to replace the part. Again, staff was very friendly but they do not have the technical knowledge to adjust derailleur and brakes properly. read more
